barefoot is the only way to go! we just visited Thursday morning(6-28-07). did the 3.5 mile loop to Lake Michigan in 2 hrs. seems like uphill both ways.
Totally! The sand was a bit hot when taping this, but by the third time I climbed the dune, the sand had cooled off a lot. Even the rocky sand of the Lake Michigan shoreline (where I was, anyway) was easy for bare feet! The sand on the dune was really soft.
