any good drama should have comedic relief. although if your bragging about your show saying it was better or funnier. then you dont belong in theatre. It should be about self expression not being the best. you all are missing the point.
my only critique is that C.C. could have used a little more emotion, and also some more hand motions than just putting them at his waist, i really like this play, even tho it has such a tragic ending
This is...mediocre. Little emotion, the lines seem read and not felt. I like the scene with Dewey and Norma Henshaw though. (Btw I played Melvin in the play)
Buddy needs to take time to feel emotions rather than just attempting to create them: Feeling the connection between the water, and the thought of buddy's momma once CC starts pouring the water on buddy. And the explanation of heaven and Buddy accepting that she's gone.
So i agree with Xantos, its very stiff, there are lines there, and thers some emotion behind them. But the emotion is not generated through what buddy is feeling , remembering, and thinking.
this is atrocious.

This is not a comedy its a TRADGEY yes there is some comic relief but it is not funny especially the endings

@RaveGirl012 Exactly, it definitely a tragedy so those who emphasized that their performance was funny might have gotten it wrong.

@belu214 It's a dramedy. Yes, the ending is tragic, but it is supposed to be funny throughout.

I played Buddy in this...it brings back memories.
I agree with the comments so far. It's not bad but it's not terrific.
And Buddy flubbed some lines (I only noticed because I know them so well)
