If you haven't picked up on it or seen the movie -there has been some footage cut out from the time he crashes the tow truck to the time he jumps into the paddy wagon.
Brian in the commentary for the dvd talks about the filming of the jump.

My intention was to only include the car action. In that sense, the footage between the chase and the jump would've been useless.
