  • where is it?

  • What The Hell R.M.A Is Goin The Wrong Way

  • why is the ambulance going the wrong way lol

  • probably coming from the scene...

  • Based on the description...ENGINE 33 is responding to a fire alarm, which would not require an ambulance response. therefore the ambulance is prob. going else where or transporting. not uncommon to pass an ambulance in the city going elsewhere

  • Yeah - this is also near Sister's Hospital (red brick buildings in the background at the end of the video) so they could've been parked there too...

  • It's not going the wrong way. We are posted at Main & 198 (Sisters Hospital). The ambulance was responding to a call. We do not respond to Preliminary Signals unless CO2 with readings.

  • We have a god forsaken SSM in the City of Buffalo for EMS. We used to have 6 Zones (Districts) that we were deployed to cover. For the last year and half we post at corners such as Main & 198( Sisters Hospital), Grider & 33 (ECMC),

    Elmwood & 198, Elmwood & Virginia (E-2), Ellicott & S. Division (E-1), William & Bailey, Buffalo Mercy, Bailey & Doat (E-31),

Main & Mercer (E-34), William Gaiter (Ambulance HQ). In our other areas we designate our corner posts with numerics.

  • Thanks a ton for your information! I hadn't heard the term SSM before - what does that mean? And I didn't know the ambulances posted at corners. This would explain sometimes when I see an ambulance parked at my local station (E2).

  • SSM (System Status Management) was a poor concept made up by people in offices. It assumes that posting ambulances at corners over fixed stations means an ambulance will respond quicker to the closest call.

It's a bunch of BS really. Fuel and wear and tear on the trucks increases 50 fold.

We constantly shift in the city from post to post. SSM just doesn't work in an urban area....

  • Essentially it was implemented in this area because management wanted to break crews up from "hanging out" like we used to do with zones. Just another way to demoralize crews and treat us worse then preschoolers. That's the problem with this area....FOR PROFIT EMS. They don't care about anyone....just there bottom line.

  • I see - that really sucks. I remember when I used to work at a gas station and the EMTs would always stop by back in 2001. Sometimes a pair of ambulances would hang out at the station (and the EMTs would get some donuts and stuff) and get to talk and everything. I thought it was cool and a good way to destress for them.

  • no engine 33 is a 99 pierce sabre

  • cool vid

  • Great to see you are still around hahahaha great vid seth love the stop and go of the rig..

  • is that the new engine 33
