  • hmm what is the bird's size ratio for body to brain?

  • Comment removed

  • Very cool

  • nevermore..

  • most ravens r from baltimore

  • ini burung gagak

  • Ravens are the only bird that will fly towards the sound of a gunshot.

  • Birds are one of the few animals that showed self awareness in a mirror test.

  • how the heck did i end up here on youtube? this shit always happens :s

  • Some birds do do this in the Wild, with caterpillars that hang from strands of silk.

  • Quoth the raven "nevermore"

  • Beautiful bird

  • If ravens could vote, they wouldn't vote for Obama.

  • @happyninslave they wouldn't vote at all. they wouldoverthrow the messed up system that makes stupid Americans think the worlds problems can be solved through voting for republicans or democrats

  • @StrangerThenRedz For the first time in my life I'm proud to be an American - Michelle Obama

  • 0:45 "much like human being" there are very very few humans who're actually logical.

  • If you let them ravens will file your taxes.

  • Crows can also recognize people and hold grudges. I always try to feed and be nice to the crows I encounter so that they will tell their other crow friends to like me.

  • If you think this is impressive, search on YouTube for "new caledonian crow", and be amazed.

  • @HelloWerldLawl you are right. And for the rest of you, squirrels do almost the same thing! And also, evolution was a concept made up in a retards brain.

  • @mechdinosaur You don't even know what you are talking about. I bet you have no idea who originally came up with the theory of evolution (hint, it wasn't Darwin!).

  • very beautifull

  • my cockatiels can do that xD ;)

  • @HelloWerldLawl Yet another Southerner has discovered the Internet. The collective IQ drops.

  • @abadgaem I'm southern, I'm educated, and my IQ is fine...HelloWerldLawl is a degenerate regardless of origin.

  • @rhedrhode Yeah... His comment is attacking the wrong crowd... It's sad that those comments are generally upped by everyone else.

  • @HelloWerldLawl There is actually several National Geographic videos of that, including one when they use weapons for hunting,,, check out their website. Good luck with life.

  • @HelloWerldLawl

What in the hell are you talking about? It's always the people who have absolutely no understanding of the concepts of evolution that try to argue about it. Go read a book and get back to us.

  • @HelloWerldLawl Hahaha 5 min of research could have kept you from looking like an idiot. Good luck...natural selection should take care of you soon

  • @craftystickboy Only carnivorous primate: Tarsier. A far cry from something like a chimp, the biggest meat eating ape with a carnal diet of 3%. What are you trying to prove you mindless sheeple? By the way have you ever noticed how even though the moon is 1/65,000,000 the size of the sun it still fits perfectly in front of the sun in an eclipse? Do you realize how astronomical the chances are of that happening if the big bang theory were true?

  • @HelloWerldLawl actually its all easily explainable. a solar eclipse is terrible rare and when one occurs will only be in a very specific spot on earth. most other times the shadow we see is by being in or close to the penumbra rather than the umbra. any object is the "perfect" fit. the quarter in your pocket is the perfect fit as well when you hold it out in front of the sun. andi suppose that bit of stamped metal is divine creation as well eh?

  • @HelloWerldLawl What the hell are you taking about?

  • @HelloWerldLawl It's hard to make an educated argument that begins with an expletive.

  • @HelloWerldLawl I saw it on discovery chanle. Chimps use stones.

  • @HelloWerldLawl Opps, fucking fail. Anyway, this is what happened. The chimps were possibley seperated in regions. The ones with strange adaptions lived the longest and produced the most offspring. This continues for hundreds of years. Adventuly, our learning copasity increased and, because we most likly didn't need it in africa, we lost most of our hair.

  • crows partner for life

  • the're so cute!

  • in romania are protected by law because here ravens are extremely rare

  • I had a jackfruit from these birds, hahaha they still found it and ate the whole thing SMARTY PANTS :)

  • Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'

  • =.= when ever i see a raven something bad happens

  • Give a raven 200,000 years and it will start complaining about the morning traffic, workplace stress and the poor condition of the economy, while sipping a cup of coffee and yelling at their children to dress up for school.

  • I've had two pet crows and they are more intelligent than most people will ever nderstand. They bond very strongly to people and are wonderful pets.

  • @nasale56 Pet crows are illegal.

  • @PhotoShopChannel Gee, you don't say! Now ask me if I care....

  • my hamsters name is raven. u no, cuz shes black.

  • @MrsMadD168 brool story co

  • @MrsMadD168 that's so raven!

  • I love ravens, there are many crows where I live and I love them, I see them doing all sorts of amazing things, some of them like to look at themselves in car mirrors, among other interesting and curious things. <3

  • Nevermore.

  • @kwaka66666 probably

  • Raven for a pet would be awesome!

  • @12081985

    Of course, lol.

I admire them always when I go to the bog!

  • So, who wants to make a bet that that very legit ladder will be the end of that man?

  • They call it Ravenclaw for a reason. Just sayin'.

  • Thats how I do my food in my apartment....if my cat is looking, i will hide out somewhere else...lol

  • wow

  • Look for kea parrots, I've wached keas solving more difficult tests

  • Look for kea parrots, I've wached keas solving more difficult tests

  • You damn right they're smart. In a state in my country, its flooded with these things and they've been reported to be aggressive and constantly stealing women lingerie from the clothesline to build their nests.

  • @Str4t0sPh3rE

I learned to love these birds! I wish you could send a few ravens to Ontario, Canada - 90% of them got wiped out a few years back. I only see them every now and then now.

  • @Str4t0sPh3rE damn perverts!

  • Firstly, why do I always see catholic statements in these kind of videos? And, not to be racist, but why do "internet catholics always have to criticize non-catholics?

Second, people keep on saying that it's fake, which it isn't (how can this be fake???)

Third, corvids (raven family) ARE smart. They would take over the world if humans hadn't done it first. And they probably would have done a better job than us. Even CHICKENS would! ;D

  • @tatumcricket It seems that if a video so much as mentions evolution or even hints at it, then it attracts militant Christians like vultures to a carcass.

  • @tatumcricket Fourth, catholicism is NOT a race, so you are not racist. :)

  • Were I love this

  • они так рыбу воруют у рыбаков-подлёдников

    Умнейшие птички)

  • 1:21 he looks up and says "My food, bitch".

  • I am a raven and I learned how to use a computer.

  • @lemonrind man that's hillarious

  • @lemonrind hahaha! Lol!

  • lol i pretend to hide things in one spot but then when no ones watching i quickly hide it in another as well, very smart creatures

  • @poopersooper123 very funny - but i think you missed the point. They aren't saying that ravens are as smart as humans - just smarter than people give them credit for, and high up there in brains when compared to other critters.

  • birdbrain=fail

  • I wish I were a raven... I'd be so smart!

  • But (the other's) mind imposed on him the killing of his brother, so he slew him and became one of the losers. (30) Then Allah sent a raven scratching up the ground, to show him how to hide his brother's naked corpse. He said: Woe unto me! Am I not able to be as this raven and so hide my brother's naked corpse? And he became repentant. ... Qur'an

  • @Engslandismailia Does copying that down and putting it in an irrelevant situation make you feel better?

  • ravens are very smart up north they surrounded my cat like monkey in the middle wile the birds in front of my cat distracted him another raven from behind swooped up and pecked him from behind so my cat would flip around to defend himself only to turn is back on the next ravens attack until i broke up the ravens ring to save my poor cat

  • I think they are so smart because they steal from each other all the time. Also because they fly and the landing bit needs a lot of brain.

  • What are those...watermelons?

  • @KingJamesBible If intelligence is proof of design, then the designer must be intelligent enough to provide such intelligence.

    So who designed the designer?

    /told

On the topic of the bird's intelligence, it's using logic and reasoning to think, "Hey, that mouse is dangling down there by this wire. Maybe if I pulled on it I can bring it up and eat it!".

Nobody gave it that answer from the very point in time where the bird was born; it figured out this out on its own. The bird did it, not 'god'.

  • @KingJamesBible you didn't understand what he was saying you idiot

  • Some animals are smarter than some wise guys that they think they know everything

    but they don't know anything.

    Excellent video.

  • 21 people r more stupid than those birds

  • they are crazy smart !!!

  • Ravens are smarter than most people on Youtube. Hahaha.

21 Parrots did not like this video. Hahaha.

  • @SpreadingTruths 4 sure! ~: )

  • @SpreadingTruths so true

  • @SpreadingTruths That's hilarious :D

  • for some reason my name is raven and i thought i would find my self pretty much i did lol

  • My name is Raven :) rnn1242 Raven N. N. (i dont want nayone looking me up) xD

  • My raven's wicked smart.

  • did anyone click on HotForCookings page and say Holy cow, wtf! amirite? huh

  • Ok, am I fucked up. A few days ago, I looked outside, and there was like 50 ravens or crowns on the trees all together hovering over a cemetray. Ever since that I have had bad luck. Got the car stuck in snow, cost $55, to get it out, then the plastic lamp shade fell on the bulb, almost caught on fire, then later on I lock my keys in the car, another $55 to get it out. Holy shit man!

  • @NFLBITCH you see, this is why not everyone is smarter than the ravens.

Get back to your playground and stop thinking, cause it's dangerous for you. You might decide you were cursed and jump off the building.

Good luck with your quest of finding a proper exorcist.

  • @theragemetal Your a dickhead, flaming fucktart lib huh

  • it's the voice in halo 1 ?

  • This one at least is smart

  • if they're so smart, why don't they make lots of money and eat at a damn restaurant? riddle me that.

  • This is a beautiful creature

  • This blackbird is smarter than the smartest RW CONS republican.

  • If man kind ever discovers the secrets to creating a time machine to go back to the beginning of the world, likened to when we sent a monkey as the first in space may I suggest we send a raven or two first.

  • @DAVZEE3 they needed something that was easy to train and could use buttons and such. Raven's would be to smart, why press that button? Nothing good can come out of it

  • Other birds from the crow family are considered pretty intelligent, and I have seen ravens playing in ways you'd not really associate with most common birds.. and this kinda indicates as well that they aren't completely dumb.

  • 20 jealous pigeons...

  • the advertisement was fucked up

  • more intelligent then most americans

  • @bouhcbeta Exactly. You used "then" in the wrong sense. "then" is used to say "I went to the bar THEN went to the cafe". To compare two things you use "than". "I am smarter THAN you."

Basically, you just proved your own point. I'm Canadian, not American by the way. Americans are stupid.

  • @bobbylou122 Unfortunately you were wrong about Americans, therefore, I am going to have to take your smart badge away from you, sorry.

  • @bobbylou122 Canadians are clones of the stupid Americans. Logically therefore, Canadians are stupid too.

  • @bouhcbeta The sad thing is most Americans are more intelligent than you, wow that puts things in perspective.

  • dam annoying smart birds

  • Never MORE

  • So I guess the derogatory term, "bird brain" doesn't apply here?

  • Yeah! Really inteligent beings and also very attractive, I love them! Thanks for this beautiful video!!!

  • @wolveywolf Thanks, I'm here to entertain.

  • They also hold a pretty long grudge.

  • birds are amazing creatures.

  • i heard ravens can guess what you are thinking even before you think about to do it

  • @xtruder02 Yeah well, while this may be true i dont think it will be that easy to prove it.

Would be awesome if its true, though :P

  • haha sliding down the tree.

  • Smarter than the average Massachusetts voter, I can tell you that

  • They pretend to hide food to fool the other bird?

    wow!

    (Also comment no.666 get)

  • they steal fish from fishing lines too!

  • My favorite animal.

  • I named my daughter Raven, she has proven to be so. Raven spreads her glittering wings dissolving all beginning and endings.

  • great video

  • And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting

    On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;

And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,

    And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;

And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor

    Shall be lifted - nevermore!

  • Nevermore...

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH lol, we read that in English class.

  • Comment removed

  • @drout0 It involves the famous poem titles "The Raven" made by the famous poet Edgar Allan Poe. In this particular poem, it features a raven, and in the poem the raven only says "Nevermore". You can find the poem on the internet. Go on, try googling it.

  • @drout0

Read "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. It's a legendary poem.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH Thanks! you helped me be 'less ignorant'! i just read "the raven" in wikipedia :)

  • hey bernd, du bist ja hier......:-)

  • man i woulda just flew down there n got the food i aint got time for all that haha

  • I am a raven who dresses like a woman. There are a lot of us corvids who dress up like people and you would never guess it. We are among you and some of us are your elected officials, school teachers, and doctors. We are smarter than humans and will take over the world. We have already taken over several major cities and we have a large secret robot factory in Western China where we make our human looking coverings. The smart ravens you see in this video are the least intelligent of our kind.

  • @HotForCooking I named my only child Raven Swan.

  • @HotForCooking If you are so smart, Why can't you learn to use a toilet?

  • @HotForCooking : lol -are ravens the same as crows?

  • @springchickn ~ Ravens are similar to crows, but not technically the same. I think. In Oregon, where I live, the ravens are about three times larger than crows and prefer to live lonelier lives. The crows are about the size of city pigeons and are similar in how they like to live in groups. The ravens don't seem to like the city, so maybe they have to live more separate to find food. I think those big ravens are quite a lot smarter than the crows and have lots more sounds that they make.

  • @HotForCooking They're all pretty smart, but yes Ravens (or the common raven as it is also known) is the largest "corvid" bird. They gather in large flocks, but only at certain times, and they also have a different call than crows. But yes, essentially they are the same

  • @LongviewGD182 Actually Crows and Ravens dont live in flocks. They live in Murders. This is only true of these two types of birds. A flock of Crows / Ravens are called Murders derived from folklore. Crows form tribunals to judge and punish the bad behavior of a member of the flock or even humans. If the verdict goes against the defendant, that bird is killed (murdered) by the flock. Im not being a smart butt. Just thought you might like this interesting piece of info

  • @GeorgeBonez Yeah i know its called a "Murder", but i think this goes only for the Great English Language (GEL xD), so i thought it would be most appropriate to use the general term.

And besides it really doesnt matter what its called.Prides,Flocks,Murders,Schools,Herds...its all essentially a gathering of animals of a certain species.

Glad you were trying to be helpful tough :)

  • @HotForCooking You know we are not to let this informattion get out to the humans! what were you thinking!?!?!

  • @sawokli7 Don't worry, humans are too prideful in their knowledge, they'd never actually think that message was the truth. Code fifty1 is still in effect.

  • @HotForCooking Birds taking over the world? Not if us cephalopods have anthing to say about it!

  • @HotForCooking I find this very hard to believe, as if it were true the world would be in much better shape than it is, the budget would be balanced, there would be no Federal Reserve or money, but a barter system for transactions, SUV would mean Simply Unfeasible Vehicle, roadkill would decrease & ravens would order in restaurants, black would be added to the color wheel, they would teach us corvicaphony and as for taking over the world, hurry up willya?

  • @HotForCooking i shoot birds

  • 0:01 to skip add.

  • anyone else think the noise when the guy slides down the tree at the beginning is just wrong????

  • That raven laughs at the end..."Caw CAw! I got yo foodz nigga!"

  • I've done this before. Putting a small amount of Food on a string and let it dangle. Most cut the string with their beak and some actually anchored it. :) Know any countries that allow people to own Ravens as pets? I want to name it "Quoth"

  • "They couldn't have learned it, because I didn't train them."

Seems like they still could have learned it on their own. Isn't that what "intellegence" is? I would love to see video of what the ravens did the very first time they were presented with the puzzle, to watch how they learned it.

  • Wow, this is outdated, it's pretty much known as fact now that the New Caledonian crow is the smartest bird. Still an interesting video nonetheless.

  • i hate you humans
