HURRAY for PIG! You'd probably never guess that once in my childhood days when I visited my uncles' farm I had a pet pig! YES! They are delightful as pets and quite intelligent as well. This movie is one of my favorites...play it every now and then. The orchestration in this is just wonderful...all the changes...from magestic to very litle dainty passages...YES! I called my pig PIG! And, was terriffically sadened to know of his demise after a couple of years... Thank you for post!
Babe was my favorite childhood movie. I watched it for the first time in years because I remembered this music. I heard it in the end credits and it made me tear up. It's so beautiful. Trust me, I love it just as much as I did and will never forget it. I also love when the mice sing! Thank you for posting.
My posts aren't getting accepted tonight - so far. Thanks, a beautiful piece of music so pleased you shared :0) Such feeling! Would love to see the film - if it's not too sad! Please let me know someone! My pigs have just hit the straw and look so sweet sleeping in their beds! Stay safe and be happy folks! BB x
Great soundtrack, full of feeling, have never seen Babe. Used to collect unwanted Babe pigs and rehome. Have pigs, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens and rabbits. Must play this music to them. Always end up on You Tube with a glass of wine at supper time. Tonights company is French Lop rabbit called Pooh, Mather the cat, a Manx lamb, Golden Guernsey goat kid called Bubbles. Last pig hit the straw 30 mins ago-peanuts for supper. A truly beautiful piece of music! Thanks! ;0) BB. Be happy folks! x

many of you may not believe me but my name is david westlake and i have just found out that nigel westlake is related to me, i play guitar and cello and am 17 years old, i was born into a musical family my dad is a guitarist and my uncle is piano player (the list goes on) i would love to meet nigel but he is a more distant relative, peace and love
@TheTerrificTurtle That is great! Hope you get to meet Nigel, why not write to him , sure Nigel woud love to hear from you! Go for it and let me know it went ! Love and be happy! BB x
And even though every single human in the stands or in the commentary boxes was at a complete loss for words, the man who in his life, had uttered fewer words than any of them, knew excatly what to say: That'll do, Pig. That'll do.
I LOVE this music. And I LOVE this movie! Nigel Westlake was a great choice for the music to this film. I looked him up before, and he has only done 15 films according to IMDB, his recent one being from 2006. How does he not have more credits to his name? He is such a great composer and this score proves that. This man deserves more credit because he definitely has talent. This scores = 5/5 stars.
Because technically this isn't his work. He adapted the soundtrack from Saint-Saen's 3rd Symphony. If it really was him he probably would be considered greater than John Williams. Camille Saint Saens was truly magnificent.
No worries. It's weird when you find out that film soundtracks are actually taken from classical pieces. Although, I have to say the version done by the mice is my favourite :D lol
The original piece of music is Camille Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony No.3. But in 1977 the main theme was turned into athe UK hit 'If I Had Words' by Scott Fitzgerald and Yvonne Keeley. Sounds geeky to know this, but i just learnt that in uni.
@LauraWyOui I think he was influenced by the magical presence that Saint- Saens has upon his own organ symphony. In reality, he transposed it to make it magically dreamy.
:) i know it's based on the 'if i had words' No. 3 Organ Symphony song but this exact piece of music I don't know sorry! amazon has babe's soundtrack :D
