That is why over HUNDREDS of years there's only two grips, Standard and Matched,

Unless he wants carpel tunnel and a plethora of various pains, he should keep up with it.

He is probably playing at his fastest right now, but if he switched to matched grip and not twist his wrist, he could use that energy for an extra beat per second, meaning he could blast 380 if he blasted 320 before.

Using your wrists while having your entire arm tensed up doesn't count, which is what he does most of the time.

It is not better for him, there is no way on earth it is, maybe for a quick blast, but for playing anything longer than a fill it is useless.

he seems to use pump motion with the arm, and fingers. The wrist does not move indeed.. Check out "flying fingers" technique, seems to be the best way to keep such extreme speeds without pain. Needs a lot of practice though..

If you practise the right way there's no reason you should be ever affected with carpel tunnel (always being relaxed is the key of course)
