Stefan is clearly making out that he doesn't want to come back and doesn't care anymore. By the sounds of it, stelena won't have a reunion scene anytime soon. I'd love stefan to see elena and damon kissing, and he'll realise what he has been missing out and realise his love for elena. And then there will be a big scene of the three of them. And elena will be in the middle.

Damon has been miserable his whole life, has spent his entire existence looking for someone to love him the way he is, it was about time Elena would've choosed him over his brother. The only constant in life is CHANGE. Elena is changing and growing. A young, heart broken girl needed Stefan once upon a time but as fast as those two came together they were falling apart. Damon is helping Elena become a mature young woman. It'll always be Stefan until Elena becomes a strong young woman. If Katherine is & has always loved Stefan more, logically, the opposite would be true for Elena, she'll choose Damon, becouse she's NOT katherine. Delena has a slow build and should be endgame.

Like a typical high school movie. Damon & Elena's on the other hand, has had so many tests. He has done so much to her (killed Jeremy, fed her his blood, etc.) & she's rejected him repeatedly, YET THEY STILL WANT TO BE TOGETHER. That shows a lot. She and Damon have repeatedly put their lives on the line to get him back and there's a point where it's just time to let go. I can't do this anymore, I just have to accept that he is never going to regain his humanity", but Stefan didn't. As angry as he was, he didn't give up on Damon no matter how much he claimed Damon was gone; so it's understandable to be upset at Elena and Damon for giving up on Stefan.

@TheOneVD I understand what you mean, but the difference between Stefan and Elena is that Stefan is a vampire. It's safe to assume he's going to live forever. He has an eternity ahead of him and when it comes down to it Damon and Stefan can't possibly live without each other. But with Elena, she is human (and plans to stay that way at the moment). She doesn't have forever to wait for him even though she loves him. But they both could never truly give up on him, I don't think.

Damon would have died not because of the weapon, but because Klaus had ordered that should he die, the hybrids must kill Damon. It was his way of hurting both Stefan and Elena.

Damon angry & drunk = The old Damon (Cold, mean, sadistic), Elena trying to take his arm but he rejects it = Elena trying to change him into being good & he not wanting to at first. Elena taking his face & he calming down immediately = Their love bringing out the kind, & HUMAN Damon from 1864. Damon saying Stefan won't be back & Elena accepting it = Elena loving Damon more.

ELENA just told DAMON to let Stefan go. Do you know what this means? She's forgetting him. She's now able to let him go. And you know why? Because she understood who she really loves. I mean, stelena was too sudden, from the first episode you could understand they would have been together. Delena isn't so obvious. Their relationship has been growing, little by little, for three seasons now. It's a deeper relationship: they UNDERSTAND each other.
