There were two other death's you never mentioned Mark.
Duk Koo Kim who died in 1982 after his war with Ray Boom Boom Mancini and Jimmy Garcia who died after his 1995 fight with Gabe Ruelas. Also recently BJ Flores died after his bowt with Al Seegar..
A fight i dont think you mentioned which luckily didnt end with death was the Eubank Watson fight. I think it was this fight which really made the boxing boards take notice. The one that always comes to mind first tho is Johnny Owen.
Good video, Mark, although I think the deaths of the likes of Jimmy Doyle & Sam Baroudi might have had more influence into boxing's safety measures than the more famous death of Benny Paret. It was only a very short time after Baroudi died that the National Boxing Assocation instituted their 21-point safety act and a lot of what they came up with then is still in use to this day.
Some of the stuff the NBA came up with in the late 40's were; The use of a mandatory eight count on a downed fighter (not always used in championship bouts, though). The mandatory one-month suspension on any fighter who had been knocked out in their jurisdiction. The minimum one-inch padding covering the ring floor. Larger gloves were put in use. Rules stating that a fighter who had been KO'd couldn't be moved until examined by a ring doctor. Etc., etc...Just some things from the top.
what do you make on the fight boxing historian ? would be good if you could even make a video on it, and what your thoughts are on it, a thought Taylor boxed beautiful in the early rounds man
Taylor was never the same again after that fight, and the winner of that fight is still argued to this day, but Taylors team told him, to move n not get involved in the last round, n when Chavez knocked him down with 17 seconds to go im sure, the ref was at 8, n Taylors cornermen came up on the side of the ring when the ref asked Taylor, "Are you alright" n Taylor looked away, n the ref must of got the expression that he didnt want to go on

I am sure Barry Mcguigan was involved in a fight that ended in tragedy as well?

I remeber reading about that also. It was a fight early in his career against Young Ali.
