  • These Classics look like the SLASH VOS model !

  • Those frets and bridge and tuner part are screaming for a good polish :)

  • Are those gold fretmarkers or silver I can't tell

  • 4 to 5 hundred I mean

  • 4-500 for a good fret job bro

  • this is a Standard LP not a Classic model...

  • @sndgarden and what makes you say that?

  • @sndgarden snap... my bad, I just had the impression that on the trussrod cover is written something else.

  • @sndgarden I know what you mean. It's not too clear..

  • Song sucks ass hahaaaa!!!! Like a bad cross between "Gimme 3 Steps" & "Rock & Roll Band".

  • @puppiesinspace Thanks!

I love ALL of your vids!

  • hot bro, hot, im getting one for $1800 American (2000 canadian, where im getting it) cant wait!!!

  • this is a fucking AWESOME guitar I have the exact same one except mines a 2005

  • @chrismortloch92 mine will need a fret job i'm afraid within 5 or 6 years.

Look at the binding of the neck. Each fret has a little binding-upset at the frets sides. That must be a pain job to remove without beaking the binding.

  • @Patsik my gibson sg standard has the same with the binding!

  • @Patsik Yea iv got a 89 les paul classic, and mine needs to be refreted now, i know who to take it to but i dont want to give them my baby, or my 300 dollars.

  • Piece of shit construction. Les Paul headstocks are too angled. A construction flaw still uncorrected after 50 years.

  • Can anyboby tell me the name of the finish please

  • @flametop95 They call that Tobacco Burst.. I own one just like it... made 2003 A dream to play on.. the tapered neck is great and they sing like a Les Paul should. This guy's video is a testament to it. Don't regret a single penny I spent on it. :)

  • whyd they discontinue this, ive always wanted one.

  • ehm a les paul weghts nothing dudes

i have a fake gibson and that is really heavy my opther les paul is nothing wiht the weight

  • in my country it just cost 1400 in used

  • It's a thing of beauty.

  • I have a mid 90's classic as well. Bought it new in 96 and it sounds better the older it gets. Great sustain and that great Gibson growl. It has and always will be my main ax. I have an SG standard, an Explorer and an EDS 1275 but nothing comes close to that chunky feel of a Les Paul. Fender (or anyone else) ever made ANYTHING that comes close. Its definitely a big boys instrument.

  • thats hot! you should get a band and start recording! see you in your world tour concert 3 years from now!xD but i mean it, you know what the word rock means.

  • @nightlighter117 I do light the look of deans! I might take your advice and try one!

  • i wish gibson still made les pauls like they used to.....

  • sexy

  • @patsik

I'll be steering clear of them as well then!!!!

  • I sold my les Paul classic for £600 to my mate! Bought it for £1000 too heavy! Prefer my sg or my strat!

  • @j66hng are you kidding. I got a Gibson Country Gent too, that's even heavier than the les Paul!

    :D

  • @j66hng sg and strats suck a Dean ML is way better with a tremalo yea thats the shit

  • @j66hng £600!? Duuuuuuuuuude!

  • @j66hng The les paul is for those who can handle the guitar itself as well as its weight which is very important, and will affect the way you play. The feel is sometimes more important than the tone. I've seen 13 and 14 year olds who have rich parents, showing off with gibsons. But they can't play shit. Plus you can see when they're standing up they look like they're taking a shit. So that's a message to all you, don't try to be cool or copy slash for example. It is bad for your health.

    Rock on!

  • @ThePanteraTribute I don't "like" Slash haha...I'm a Setzer fan. But as a Gibson freak I had to own a Les Paul. And I love mine. I'm used to the weight. I miss it when I play a Strat or Tele. The curved top I like most of the LP and the way the neck is tilting backwards. A Fender is too...huh...flat for me.

  • don't tell me that 1070$ is expensive for a gibson LP

  • wow!!!

in a few weeks I will buy gitaaaaar like this

  • i just bought a 2003 one off ebay 1070

  • my favorite guitar.Fantastic.awesome.

  • swords are much better than axes in terms of durability and balance.

  • this guitar is as old as me! SICK GUITAR MAN!!!

  • sweet axe !!!!!

  • great guitar, i wish i had 1, but all my closest guitar shops cant afford to stock gibsons any more

  • i have no idea what american money is changed to euros but i got mine for 1500 in american money

  • that's cheap !!!

  • really nice looking guitar

  • it looks like the guitar slash used on tour with guns. but yours has tons of gloss while slash took his and knocked out all the gloss.. still looks purty though

  • If I'd tour around the world mine would also look worn perhaps.

And if I could afford 100 guitars.....:)

I believe I had all the hollow body Gibson models:

    Super 400, Citation, ES350, L5...etc.

But I can't so my guitars look shiny and almost mint.

    Oh.....what is purty?

  • @Patsik purty is just another way of saying pretty.

  • @andr3wbr1an I know thats why i want it :D. Can you have it refirbished if your not a rockstar :L?

  • @andr3wbr1an slash uses a 59 les paul, that'd be why

  • @louisalive no, it was an 1988 les paul that he got refinished before the tour. the 59 he uses for recording is a replica..

  • @andr3wbr1an keen... (he used the 59 for all the early live stuff btw, i dno why i care GnR suck balls)

  • i think hes got a real one too.

  • what a beautiful guitar!! congratulations.

  • Beautiful guitar man.

  • great burst but i just don't like the way the body is shininng.i prefer old-looking finishes

  • i have the same exact guitar!

  • How much is the guitar worth you think? I can get it for about 1200 euros. :O Is it a good deal?

  • cheap !!!!!

  • 8 000 aint cheap bro

  • This song would be a hit if you recorded it in the 70s !!

  • Wel in fact, the 70's in my favorite music period.

I can't write proper lyrics so I gave up for awhile. But the music is still in my head. Might finish it some day.

    Thanx for the reply.

    Rock on!

  • What scales did you used ??

  • I bought one of these before they were discontinued and they are great guitars.

  • ik but somehow they had one at my guitar center and i got it. sort of crazy how no one bought it after they discontinued it

  • i wish i could have one of those

  • about 2 grands and 500

  • awesome les paul man it sucks gibson discontinued the classic though

  • actually, guitarcenter now has them in stock. go check it out

  • did u take the pickgaurd off to be like slash

  • Slash took his off to look like me!

    :D

Actually Brian Setzer was the one who did me do it.

I saw him playing in the early 80's without the pickguard.

  • Did the aged tailpiece and bridge came stock with your guitar or you bougth them somewhere. I'm looking for some of those for my VOS R8

  • Comment removed

  • Haha it used to be shiny.

It's just pure aging. But I do take care of the finish.

  • I mainly play blues and rock. Should I buy this one or a Les Paul Standard?

  • Comment removed

  • i think if you got it in the fingers, any guitar will do.

There are famous players who play the Strat an LP.

Gary Moore does/did and he sounds hot enough on both.

  • does it sound different from another les paud with flame maple top?

  • I never tried a flame top Les Paul.

After I got mine the search was over. By the way I never play distorted like let's say Slash.

He's great for sure, but I don't like his sound to much. Like the september rain solo sound, awfull...:(

    Do you play the guitar?

  • Yes dude. I play guitar and I am searching for an ultimate guitar to suit my playing.

  • Sorry for double posting. You said you dont like slash gain. Do you think a maple top increase gain?

  • Beats me haha. I never bothered with the woods. Sorry. If a guitar feels good to me and if it sounds good too, that's all I need.

mmm....I believe all of my electrics are maple...

    :p

  • lmao... november rain, not september :P

  • :D :D

    yeah whatever...

I just don't like the song haha!!

  • It's November Rain lol

  • My 1990 Les Paul Standard looks like crap compared to yours! :D

  • Why?

I do clean my guitar every now and then. And...I never hold my guitars at the body. Allways the neck and bottom strap button. Hate finger prints on the body...

Maybe if I were rich and can afford 100 guitars, I might loosen up a bit haha..

  • :D I'm very protective as well. :) My nut is shot to hell and my pickups are dirty. :(

  • hey man. Is it honeyburst or lightburst?

  • Honeyburst!

    :)

  • did removing scratch plate leave screw holes

  • ....??...well yes...

  • hey do all new les paul classics come wit schallers on them?

  • dont do that. i wanted to put one on mine les paul but the expert in the store said it will be stupid because your lose its value total.

and he said buy a guitar with a bigsby stock.

  • If you're not selling it, why wouldn't you?

  • Gotta know, Did this guy remove the pick up covers?

  • no all the classics come with no pickup covers but there discontinued now

  • What?

  • the finish reminds me of slash's 1987 les paul.

  • Haha....if I only could play like that!

    :)

  • beautiful color

  • hey everybody im getting a gibson les paul classic for christmas i love my mum dearly havnt seen it yet dont know anythin bout its finish is lightburst and its from the 90s in fantastic condition nothin like the new chambered ones and shit but do all the classics look as nice and shiny as this or is this like a special edition classic cause i would love it if the finish is as shiny and this i know there not flamed but are the standards flamed cheers

  • haha ur like me last xmas haha

  • COOL, Thanks for your nice work!

The guitar is rather cool, you can find it from our site, melodyboys com*cn

    The price is rather low!!!

  • You shouldn't put it on the floor.

  • jazzpxg ... jam your chinese rip off counterfeit les pauls up your freckle they are junk

  • honeyburst right?

  • u know its for playing

  • i just got a 1999 gibson les paul classic in the honeyburst. it sounds great. how much did you pay for yours?

  • Huh...don't remember excactly...

I got it from Gruhn Guitars in Nashville while I visited the USA.

    I believe about $1300 back in 1995.

  • I would rather have an Agile. Those guys are upfront with you. You guys suck balls!

  • i got one, but dude c'mon its a gibson.

  • True

  • beautiful color

  • by the way... what kind of hum are you getting with it? i have a feeling mine might have bad grounds because theres a loud hum only when my hands arent on the strings.. do you have that too?

  • Oh no mine is just hum free...

Personaly I'd never buy a guitar without playing on it first. There even Gibsons that are bad.

The humbuckers are original...huh..I don't know the type, haha.

I don't care, they just sound great to me.

Take your guitar to a repair man to check it out. The best advice I can give you.

    Rock on!

  • If the pickups are original they should be the 498T at the bridge and 500T in the neck position. I'd personally replace them with the burst bucker, but your playing sounded great. Oh and I see that it doesn't hve those ugly yellow inlays like the one out now have. Nice lookin Paul you got.

  • if it hums when you don't mute the strings it's probably your bridge needs better grounding. not the HUMbuckers.

  • i bought mine on ebay and for some reason it does have those little knob arrows and im PISSED

  • what finish is that?

  • That's Honeyburst.

  • awesome finish

  • slash signature??

  • no, this is a gibosn les paul classic from 1995...

    FUCK, READ THE TITLE!!!!

  • nice playing dude

  • Best sounding guitar ever

    its so worth the money!

  • PLAY IT>>>>>

  • nice playing man, i have one that looks exactly like that

  • What finish?

  • Honeyburst.

  • I think les pauls look much better without the scratch plate like this one

  • So do I. At least they play better that way. Like strumming a Strat I always end up touching the scratch plate. On my guitar I have all the strumming space I need!

    :)

  • I think a les paul looks better with the plate over the humbuckers

  • Why'd u take off the pick guard?

  • would you recommend this compared to the studio or studio premium plus and why

  • Oh I wouldn't recommend anything.

I just like the looks of the Standard/Classic most.

I had a stunning 78 Custom one day, but it was a lousy guitar. No sustain. Dead sound.

And I tried some Studio's through the years that played as good as my Classic. So pick one of them up and when they feel right to you, just go and Rock n Roll!

  • thanx alot dude

i was just wonderin cos its alot of money to pay, and whether getting the classic was worth that little bit more, but i think ill just go for the studio plus. u can check out my shity squire iv been playing for 2 years lol, i finally want a decent one to last a while and sound better

    happy playing :)

  • You're screwing around!

    2 years??

Aren't you playng Tommy Emanuel's version of Day Tripper in your video??

    Not bad at all!

If you can play like that in 2 years you're gonna be big!

  • no lol

iv been playing the electric for 2 years, before hand iv been playing a nylon string and more recently a steel string acoustic.

overall iv been playing for about 6 years, im 16 now. im tryin to take guitar more seriously now, and with exams shortly out the way i can do that

  • lol.. sort of the same, I've played 2 years (only) on a lousy Yamaha Pacifica (112 J - the mid range Pacifica) And am hopefully getting the Studio as my sweet 16th (June 26th.. if i get it, it'll be in August as I am working June 24th through August 23rd)

  • lol

i played it the other day and it was terrible for me, i hated it :S

too heavy, not balanced, difficult to play and only gave a rocky sound, i sp prefer the strat but im getting a tele to be different

have u played a les paul?

  • yeah I've played a '77 Standard.. and it felt incredible.. it didn't feel heavy to me.. and besides I like to be able to feel an instrument ;), it had a Demarzio in the Bridge, and the pick guard removed, and that's about it.. but the one you played was possibly not set up correctly ^_^

  • hmmm

yeh i dont think it was

    it wasnt even tuned :P

im getting a tele because of it versitility and wat id be using it for, also, the les paul is a bit more pricy, and id prefer to spend good money on a decent tele than the les paul of similar quality

hope u enjoy ur les paul...if u get one lol

im buying my tele through school and can get VAT off the price, so its like a 17.5% discount which knocks just over £100 off..nice lol, ask me about it if u wanna know more

    c ya dude

  • my guitar look 100% same lmfao, only mines a epiphone and i changed the pick-ups to dimarzios so there the same black colorXD

  • that is niiice! u remove the scratchplate? i see holes! lol

  • Oohhh that sounds so good.

    Nice playing.

  • I WANT ONE

  • nicely played !

  • Nice to see someone rocking out in a major, its kinda sad how 99% of rock is minor

  • i just bought that guitar except its got more of a wood look to it and its an earlier model. can you help me figure out what it may be called lol?

  • what song is playing in the background?

  • she's beautiful

  • That is the most amazing sound I've heard come out of a guitar in awhile!

  • Yeah, my mistake, realised that after posting!

  • That's great. I love the 70's music anyhow. Must be the 'horrible' zoom effect.

    :)

  • hey cool vid. is this guily nice to play then??

  • What's guily??

  • its vintage sunburt

  • Get a historic truss rod and some 57 classics and you've got one cool vintage looking guitar!

  • The classics already come with 57's.

  • No, the classic antique does with a 57' plus in bridge position but the standard classic is 498T and 500T.

  • ah nvm you're right. My buddy has one of the antique ones than.

  • I have the classic in that same color and im pretty sure it's either an 95 or 94. I play mine with the pickguard off aswell. it looks better to my eyes without it.

  • great job! why did you decide to take the pickguard off?

  • Well, I always was a Brian Setzer fan. And I noticed he took off the guard from his Gretsch 6120.

So I tried to be him and took off all my guards...:)

I used to play my ES295 and Country Gentleman a lot and it felt better to play it sitting down without the pickguard support sticking in your leg.

Besides that, I don't like the '1960' writing on the Classic.

  • ........why did you take the scratch plate off and leave 2 ugly screw holes in your other wise beautiful Gibson?

  • .....I leave the holes, just in case I want to put the guard back.

I still have the screws with it and don't want to drill into the body.

Besides that people don't watch those tiny wholes.

    They just adore my playing.....hahahaha!!

    Or is it the guitar...?

  • how much does it cost ?

  • It's not for sale!!!

    No way!

I got it on Holiday in Nashville from George Gruhn's back in 1995.
