  • Quick vaccinate him, then he wont care. Shut him up.

  • @32GaugeSlug Here, drink this tap water!

  • It's these rare times... like here listening to this young fellow speaking his truth, that I feel hope for my kids and grand kids.

  • i like this kid hope he keeps his spark

  • Best TED talk ever

  • yo, les, he's giving a speech.... give 'em a break will ya. I think he did great!!

  • hes reading xddd cofff cofff

  • Very very good example!

  • One of the reason he's so informed is because he is home-schooled. Our educational system doesn't teach our kids to think, only to memorize. Basically become drones.

  • @pk525 - funny ... he doesn't seem to be thinking much.

It just sounds like he memorized a bunch of crap.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes well fuck you. He knows this, you need to STFU.

  • @CouldNotCareLes its a speech you asshole!!!! of course he memorized it....have you been eating genetically modified shit?

  • Smart boy spanks Monsanto and CAFO's. "We can pay either the farmer or the hospital". Hope that he holds onto his idealism.

  • Good job kid!

  • heck yea! you go! Is it not time to home school all kids?

  • Comment removed

  • So much respect for this man!!! Good job. We have to awake now. If our children is awaken early, they have a chance of changing this world.

  • sooo who did he tell to shove what where? I heard no such thing

  • a very educated kid.kinda wanted someone to tie his arms to his sides though with all that waving around, lol.

  • People actually were laughing at this?

    Fucked.

  • I love this little man! He's smart and knows alot of what he tells you. Home schooled is the way to go!!!

  • very good but... this kid really sounds like Alfalfa from Little Rascals

  • TAKE A WILD GUESS AT WHO MOST LIKELY THUMBED THE LITTLE GENIUS IN THE MAKING, DOWN. I'LL BE SURE TO PASS THIS VID TO ALL I KNOW. YOU SHOULD TOO.

  • Bravisimo, Babyboy!!!!!!!!

  • .....not cause they are forced to.

  • @OntarioCrops There is more than enough food to feed the world currently produced, without GE crops. UN report International Assessment of Agricultural Science Technology Development, by 400 scientists, concluded GE crops can potentially increase hunger and poverty in poor countries, where most hunger and poverty occur. Several UN reports and peer reviewed studies suggest organic farming methods can decrease hunger and poverty in poor countries.

  • Comment removed

  • @OntarioCrops That is simply not true. Do some research. Also, what do you think is going to happen when the price of petroleum products become prohibitive or even unavailable. Use your head for something other than a hat rack.

  • @mainemike52- I don't know where you do your 'research' but you are wrong and what OntarioCrops says is true.

there is a reason these seed companies are so successful, it's because they have good products. Farmers are eager for new technology.

    It's not all "E I E I O" out here I'll have you know.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes youre telling lies, sir....if youre a one crop farmer, monsanto works for 2 years...after that you get super weeds, and super bugs...youre smart enough to know that...plus you know that bt cotton kills cows and sheep that eat from harvested fields...you know all these facts...so does everyone IN THE WORLD...FROM HERE, TO INDIA AND CHINA....youre not fooling a soul.

  • @keriscorp - I don't know internet stuff. In real life my sheep have eaten GMO corn residue for fifteen years, none have died from it.

Super weeds? The fastest I've seen resistance develop was in the early 1990's with a product called Pursuit. Lambs quarters developed a resistance in three years. You don't know what you have stated, you just read it somewhere. Responsible producers rotate treatments to prevent resistant strains from developing.

Get outside sometime, it's a big world.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes i didnt say corn in US....i said bt cotton...it was in india...google it...i am a chemical AND mechanical engineer....i said to a FRIEND 20 years ago that what he was doing would have evil results...he was a MONSANTO GENETIC ENGINEER...he said we will feed millions...i said you will kill millions...I WAS RIGHT.....and YOU, SIR....are a dirt farmer. a sod buster. you dont have the FIRST QUALIFICATION to discuss this...except "i made good money for a while...idiot

  • @keriscorp - Gee ... it's a good thing no animal has ever fed on forage from a US grown cotton crop (since all cotton grown in US has been Bt for fifteen years or so ...)

((I know animals have eaten that residue with no ill affects.))

    Are you really that stupid?

Those Indian farmers are so much smarter that the dumb American Family Farmer.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes youre just a bold faced liar....youre time in hell will come....keep it up...its going to come back on you....125,000 suicided indian farmers....so much smarter than "the dumb American Family Farmer."....DID YOU REALLY SAY THAT???....

    HELL AWAITS YOU!!!

  • @keriscorp _ I have told no lies.

You think our nation's farmers are dumb.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes Common sense says our nation's farmers are dumb, buddy. You don't have a problem because you already have a cozy spot in the GMO and chemical game. Meanwhile, if you grow corn or soy, your neighbor's field gets pollinated by your super strains and HE is the one who goes to court to provide proof he did not steal it from Monsanto because, after all, they have a petent on it. That or strains make their way into the wild and cause all sorts of other harm.

  • @AvatarOfStrife - Most of my neighbors grow GMOs. I was one of the last around to switch to GMOs. (I'd dump at the terminal and my conventional corn and soy would be augered into the same tank as the GMO.) I was one of the last in my area to brown bag soy seed. I do rotate my crops.

Has anyone ever anywhere had to defend themselves against a patent claim brought about by incidental contamination?

(NO, and don't tell me about Schmeiser.)

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes Monsanto v Bowman, bowman used Monsanto GMO for first crop, then seed from a local grain elevator for the second, using roundup for both. He was sued for patent infringement when Monsanto found that his seeds were second-generation Monsanto GMO seeds. This means any farmer selling or buying second-gen PATENTED GMO is subject to patent ingringement, this could even be applied to GIVING one's second-gen, or even first, away. But you knew that already, didn't you?

  • @AvatarOfStrife - Are you saying that it shouldn't be against the law to steal patented property?

He broke federal patent law. He also broke state seed law.

    Les

  • @AvatarOfStrife - Of course I knew that, everyone does.

Farmers understand the law, honest ones abide by it.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes patent protection "is independently applicable to each generation of soybeans (or other crops) that contains the patented trait." Id. 15-16. See Monsanto Co. v. Scruggs, 459 F.3d 1328 (Fed. Cir. 2006); Monsanto Co. v. McFarling, 302 F.3d 1291 (Fed. Cir. 2002). Monsanto contends that "under Bowman's analysis, patent protection for self-replicating inventions would be eviscerated."

  • @CouldNotCareLes As for cross-pollination and Monsanto, you cannot deny the stance Monsanto takes in these cases. They don't give two flips about you or your neighbors. The only reason Schmeiser did not settle out of court is because he has brass balls, and even then the court decision was somewhat of a draw. It is undeniable, though, that most farmers in this situation do not have the capital to meet Monsanto's demands, or to even battle them in court.

  • @AvatarOfStrife - what cases?

    144 investigations, nine lawsuits.

All happened over fifteen years ago.

Schmeiser stole the technology, and was stupid enough to leave a trail.

    Les

  • @AvatarOfStrife - So Schmeiser is the only farmer in North America (there are 2,000,000) with balls?

Not only are you naive, you are gullible too.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes You, conveniently enough, did not have a rebuttle for the pollution caused by your use of petrol based chemicals, and for good reason. Your land is worthless, just try growing in it without chemical fertalizers, you may not like what you yield. This would tell most people that this system is not worth perpetuating. Most people, though, care.

  • @CouldNotCareLes Rotate your crops, use push and pull techniques, stop using chemicals, treat your land right, cease the use of GMO seeds and begin SAVING AND DEVELOPING YOUR OWN. Monsanto wouldn't like that though, they want you using terminator seeds.

  • @AvatarOfStrife - Two of my neighbors grow Certified Organic non-GMO wheat, corn and soy. Each has around 600 acres and both are nestled in among GMO farmers. I've never heard either mention a concern of being contaminated.

Have you ever been on a farm?

How much food do you grow yourself?

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes So you assume your neighbors, who work hard to keep their crops non-GMO, do not see the danger in cross-pollination? I'd go ask them before speaking for them, there is a reason they have not sold out like you have. Yes I have been on a farm, a ranch, a field, a stream, a mountain and a horse. I have grown my own basil, cilantro, strawberries, tomatos, carrots and.. recreational vegitation. I have a respect for the earth, buy only organic and support my local farmers market.

  • @AvatarOfStrife - those two have sold out in a different way. It takes a lot of labor to grow sustainably, they use migrants.

If we all did that, the labor cost would be prohibitive.

    Les

  • @AvatarOfStrife - OK, I'll stop using chemicals if you and 99 of your friends will work for me June - August (I'll pay minimum wage.)

You can show me the push and pull technique.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes So the justification for your actions is that you make more money this way? Your non-GMO neighbors are still in business, what's the problem? These are poor excuses and you should rethink your approach to farming, if you want to pass down usable land to your progeny. We are already at peak oil, do you think it will continue to be cheaper to use increasing amounts of pesticides? Perhaps you can buy the plants with roundup already infused into their DNA, I'm sure they're fine. O.o

  • @CouldNotCareLes Remember the milk industry scandal? They wanted to maximize profits per cow, so they cramped them together and shot them full of rBGH and harmones. What happened? The cows started getting sick, not being able to walk or give birth, and the milk supply was contaminated with puss from utters, antibiotics, and harmones. But hey, progress is progress is progress is progress. Chickens injected with harmones and modified so that their breasts are larger than the rest of their body-

  • @CouldNotCareLes -, prohibiting some from walking or raising their heads for more than a few seconds. Mmmm, tastes like progress.. Look man, I don't know directly how difficult farming is, but I have some idea. Many man hours, alot of money, and if you don't yield right, you are in the hole. I'm not trying to demonize you, even though the tone of my rebuttles have been negative. You have the mindset that many of our farmers do, but are the only one to respond to this video. Please, think about-

  • @CouldNotCareLes -what you are leaving to your children, and how your practises harm those around you. Whatever you do, try to make a change for the better, thats all I ask. You must have held out against the GMOs for so long for a reason.

  • @AvatarOfStrife -

I am leaving a cleaner environment than my grampa and dad did.

Three agencies that test groundwater/surfacewater tell me that.

    Les

  • @keriscorp - How much food do you grow sir?

    Les

  • @keriscorp - google it?

    Hey professor, Google "flat earth"

... and report back what you find.

Does anyone have a clue for our friend keriscorp here?

    Les

  • @OntarioCrops it may allow them to eat until they get cancer or their livers fail or they can no longer have children because they've become sterile....all side effects of GM foods....there has been no human testing on the effects of GM food but lets just give it to the guinea pigs..they'll eat anything...

  • @OntarioCrops Keep eating it retard. It's scum like you that they want to kill off.

  • @OntarioCrops 7 billion people to eat?! Bullshit... starvation has increased in hte last decade 2 fold! Stop listening to your corporate masters.

  • @SeedfulMusic Of course starvation has increased in the last decade. World population growth is unsustainable for much of this planet.

The North American farmer feeds more mouths than ever before.

They don't make any more land these days and cities keep growing and paving over prime agricultural land.

It has nothing to do with corporate masters. Its reality.

90% of North Americans have never and will never grow or produce their own food.

  • @OntarioCrops And we discourage our youth from growing pot plants..

  • THANK YOU!

We need more young people who are educated like you!

  • @puissantTad You make a good argument! It's very knowledgeable and well thought out! It must have taken you days to finish! I'm glad you shared such a well-crafted idea with the rest of us! I hope you're not too wiped out from thinking so hard! : )

  • child after my own heart. Monsanto needs to be shut down forever.

  • Humans have grown way past the natural carrying capacity for us on this planet. The only way to feed 7+ billion people is with chemical enrichment and genetically modified foods. The only way we could all eat "organic" is if most of us died off. Sure we need regulation to prevent capitalism from getting out of hand, but lets also not forget that throughout human history there have been a lot of hungry and starving people. Do not reduce a complex issue down to "organic is good". THINK.

  • @tuzmor - No, Monsanto created one component of Agent Orange (the other was created by DOW.)

This chemical (Agent Orange (2,4-d and 2,4,5-t)) was sprayed on your food (corn grown in US) from 1950 to 1995, when Monsanto's roundup Ready made it obsolete.

Aren't you glad that Agent Orange isn't sprayed on the US food crop any more?

    I'm not defending anything.

I'm just pointing out that you don't know what you are talking about.

    Les

  • @tuzmor - You don't care enough about what you eat to grow your own food, and yet you will condemn those who grow it for you.

You watch some dated propeganda and think you know something.

    Let Monsanto throw their switch.

Syngenta, DOW, DuPont Bayer, BASF, etc. etc. will lap up the market share.

They do the same thing ... You don't even know that.

    Les

  • @tuzmor - I watched FOOD INC years ago.

There are all kinds of seeds out there.

    You are paranoid.

    Les

  • @tuzmor - Monsanto does not market food.

You are really ranting about the American Family Farmer.

He grows the food, he made Monsanto (and a dozen other large companies) the entity they are.

He is not going to grow your food without modern technology.

KRAFT and Publix have you by the balls.

    Les

  • The Simpsons told us about Monsanto years ago.

  • @DaReelSituation - ... another reliable source for information, eh?

I can't believe how stupid folks are.

    Les

  • Comment removed

  • Why is it so hard to have normal fucking food and not some frankenfood cancer causing chemical laced shit that looks good but kills you slowly?

  • @undeadpresident - It's not hard at all.

One just needs to care enough about it to grow their own food.

Does anyone think this kid will grow up to be a farmer?

    I doubt it.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes you need land and equipment to grow food. And of course with land comes taxes so you need money too. Nothing is that simple

  • not supposed to be funny, this shit is true

  • Post and share!!! Make this go viral.

  • Nice!!

  • Birke, you just brought me hope today, man! Thank you!

  • This is awesome. I hope my kid is like this!

  • GENIUS

  • What a bunch of BS.

This is what happens when one spends all day on the internet.

He's going to be an Organic Farmer? He's in for a big surprise.

    Les

  • @CouldNotCareLes Are you working for Monsanto? You're defending those greedy scumbags like they're family. Good for the kid! I wish him the best and hope he succeeds. He makes a lot more sense than you and a lot smarter.

  • "Hi, I'm an 11 year old reading from a monitor and using my hands as much as possible while I talk bc that's what I was told to do. I am home-schooled and don't get out much, other than to speak on behalf of whomever my parents tell me to (get paid from). I'm being exploited. And don't get me started on the Confined Animal Feeding Operations called CAFO's".

No, please tell us what you know about things without a monitor. You're so wise! I had no idea there were tomatoes with fish fins on them!

  • @kazeolkatt I don't know that 11 year olds can articulate that well by monitor reading. This is just my opinion and I'm not saying you're wrong, but maybe this kid actually DOES care and know what he's speaking about. I know a lot of young people who are into this kind of stuff and can speak well about it without being prompted by adults.

  • @Kilby6969 He's reading. You can see it and tell by how he talks. I was able to do stuff like that at 11 years old. You can tell in his voice that he's a little nervous though. No matter what though, the kid is being exploited.

  • @kazeolkatt Why is he being exploited no matter what? What if he actually believes in what hes saying not because it was forced upon him but rather he takes genuine interest in it? I think we don't give the youth enough credit. I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just saying to be fair you have to consider that your assumption could be wrong.

  • @Kilby6969 My thoughts exactly. I was going to respond to that comment much like you did but I didn't want to get into some long drawn out debate about the merits of his speaking. One thing I have learned about YT is that you can't escape the ever present "negative attitudes". It just proves to me that the general populace has a long way to go before it could possibly evolve into a positive, loving, understanding and accepting society. Much like trying to swim with an anchor around your neck.

  • @Kilby6969 It's the definition of it. Sorry, I would take more time to answer, but I'm really out of time right now. TTYL, & have a good one!

  • @kazeolkatt He is home skooled, so it does not surprise me he should care, I was very concerned about the environment at that age. So what if he had to write out his speech, don't most adults do the same thing?

  • @Dehzee It wasn't written BY him, it was written FOR him.

  • The boy talks about businesses putting cute characters on their packages to attract kids. Whoever wrote this speech most likely put a kid on stage to attract adults.

  • OMG!! IS HE REALLY FREAKIN 11??!?!?! He is a rreally good speaker.

  • Kid's smarter than average adult.

  • @smoke489

He's incredibly more intelligent than the average adult, more than the English language has the ability to explain.

  • If you have heard this speech before at least he is repeating the truth. Dope head.

  • Is this really a Ted Talk? Cause my general opinion is that, interesting as some of those talks are - they are basically in support of 'business as usual'

  • I've heard this speech before. This kid does a perfect replica of it.

  • Props to you kid props to you.

    I agree completely

  • go LUNATIC FARMER! and Go this kid!!! love this

  • SIMPLY PUT, THE KID IS RIGHT. FOR THE NAYSAYERS, ANY DOUBTS DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH , OR OF COURSE WILFULLY FOOL YOURSELF AND STICK YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND , AND LATER WHEN YOU SAY BUT ,BUT , AND I THOUGHT , WE'LL KNOW IT IS JUST B.S. EXCUSES ,THAT YOU WERE JUST A LAZY ASS CONFORMIST.

  • @mainemike52 PLEASE CHECK OUT THE CAMPAIGN FOR WORLD FOOD DAY OCTOBER 16,2011

MILLIONS AGAINST MONSANTO ON FACE BOOK AFTER YOU FIND THAT PAGE LOOK FOR M.A.M.(YOUR STATE) RALLY FOR THE RIGHT TO KNOW, RALLY 4 THE RIGHT 2 KNOW, WORLD FOOD DAY M.A.M

    ORGANIC CONSUMERS ASSOCIATION

  • THIS KID ROCKS! THIS VIDEO ACUALLY MADE ME CRY , CAUSE THE REST OF AMERICA IS BEING BRAINWASHED AND THIS KID KNOWS WHATS GOING ON! COME ON YOU GOING TO TELL ME THIS KID IS BEING PARANOID ?

  • WOW THIS KID DESERVES A MEDAL!!! TAKE THAT MONSANTO!!

  • Who would thumbs down this kid?? Oh right, Monsanto!

  • @SilkMeadow Monsanto only has 4 friends.

  • @SilkMeadow - idiot's would thumb down this child.

  • hell yea little man u just kicked ass

  • Love this boy. Knowledge is key.

  • u rule

  • I hate to say this, but it all sounds like cookie-cutter indoctrination to me.

  • @procpuaire Wow, you obviously know nothing of our food system. That or you're probably employed by the meddling bastards at Monsanto. Go watch Food Inc., King Corn, or any of the other documentaries exposing the food system. Read "The Jungle", or go VISIT a Kansas "farm". Cows stand in their own manure all day, chickens live on top of their dead comrades, and corn is GM'd to force farmers to buy seed every year. All these things are true. Get informed, and don't insult this bright kid!

  • Amazing what homeschooling can do. Go homeschooling! We need more people like this!

  • Good for you and your parents. Don't look to the left or the right, stay on this path, young man.

  • This kid is definitely awesome. He has a bright future for sure. BUT, I hope that he can learn more about both sides of his argument. Its dangerous not to understand that there are always two sides to every story.

Im not condoning any extreme practices he is protesting against, but there are legitimate reasons to sanitize foods before they are distributed, and an exponentially growing population could never be satiated by traditional farming practices... there sadly isnt enough land.

  • @buckhr You're right. Additionally, if it weren't for GM foods, Asia probably would not exist as we know it. Just look up Norman Borlaug.

  • Yes, this kid gave a great speech. But, the head of the USDA? Ex-Monsanto. Much of the justice department? Ex-Monsanto. They control the system. The laws will always favor them. So, it's now up to the people to make a difference, government will not do it. All trust in them is gone.

  • Share this video guys, the kid deserves a hell of a lot more then 3 thousand views !! Bravo young man, Bravo !!

  • Wow!! You are an amazing young man!! Keep talking!

  • shouldent kids just enjoy being kids? its like relax your 11 years old enjoy life..

  • obviously this kid didn't get the "hush" money from Monsanto. Good on ya, little guy!

  • This kid is awesome

  • @mainemike52 " I would have to say that if anyone's mother is ill-sighted, it would be yours for obviously never teaching you any manners." OHHHHHHH my god fucking owned ><

  • GREAT but I wonder if he knows about Monsanto. If so,why not slam them outright in his speech?

  • This kid will grow up to be the best organic marijuana farmer in the world!

    God Bless ya kid.

  • Thank God! This exuberant young man seems to have escaped the throes of public school enforced Ritalin.

  • @libertylover52 oh am sorry i forgot to mention internet gay porn sorry dude now u r part of it

  • Don't even bother, no one can stop NWO we are so busy on Facebook or xbox live to even give a fuck about our own future just prepare for a really short life

  • @Hyper92793 I for one, do not use facebook or any other social networking program and I don't think I've ever even seen an x-box

  • YAY!! FINALLY hopre from the next generation!! YOU GO BURKE!!!

  • @procpuarie

LOL, u just look like an idiot if u are older than 11...

  • @procpuarie YOUR STUPID CHECK OUT THE WORLD ACCORDING TO MONSANTO AND THINK AGAIN,NO WOUNDER EVERYONE HATES AMERICANS.YOUR RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING AND DAM THIS KID FOR LEARNING ABOUT WHAT THESE ASSHOLES ARE POISONING US WITH, DO SOME RESEARCH NEXT TIME BUDY, WHY DONT YOU STAND UP LIKE THE REST OF US , GROW SOME BALLS!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • permaculture is also a good way to start. Why do we spend so much time and energy on a lawn, trees and shrubs that we can Not Eat???? I also did a taste test with eggs that were range free, omg what a difference.

  • They laugh because he's 11, but he speaks truth.

  • This kid is GREAT!!! Kudos to the parents raising him. (I knew he was home-schooled long before he mentioned it.) Man, this child is just amazing. I just wish what he is saying wasn't true.

    --

  • omg this kid hit the nail on the head here. I hope this vid goes to washington and makes an impact! bravo to this young man!!!!!

  • Love it!!!!

  • Love this video! Wish every parent and kid could see this video. Keep 'em coming!

  • Out of the mouths of babes...kids our future!

  • Smart kid! This IS how you spread the word and stick it to those bastards!
