@wildones0001hacks Sorry to hear that, if you would have read the Quotations it says "This modification will NOT work on Multiplayer after an update..."

Re-install BF:Heroes and you should have no problem.

The "Client contains invalid data" error basically means that your files are not identical to the ones in the server, unfortunately when I moded this, the servers did not search for moded content, so it worked fine.

@Dragonicafan Sorry, I doubt there is a plugin to modify the texture files in Microsoft Paint. I'm not 100% sure but I THINK there is one for GIMP or Paint.net which are both free

I haven't played this game, but a 'cheat' you can do is to make the textures a bright colour so you can easily see them

Rigital, I've got a question:

I'm making a sort of "replica" of this game, and as such textures are crucial...but i haven't been able to find those I need for the environment??(eg. sky, ground, water)

are they made from just a single colour with the occational tile or is there some sort of texture for all this?

For the water I know its like a 4 pixel (or even like 20) of 4 sections and colors

The ground is a looping rock texture that can easily be made

and the grass I recall it might be in the map folder, maybe because I've never looked for the vegitation files. I know they are not a single color in BF2 but I'm not 100% sure in BFHeroes

(also, BFH doesn't let you edit the game files any more...so no more mods)

When I click on "Play Now" it loads and then I get kicked because the Client contains invalid Data. Did EA change it, so you can't use Skins?

Wait, this is file modding right? Isn't it now unavailable to mod files? Cause in BETA phase i changed/gave me almost everything: All clothes & Emotes, Higher DMG with gun and abilities, but since it official out, it's not possible... (but in Tutorial)

Works the same with WInrar, just open the zip, take out the file.. modify then put the file back in

Make sure you have the Nvidia DDS plugin

It might only work on the Creative Suites (CS)

Actually I found the only thing you can really mod is your cursor.

Crap, ever since the new update you can't even mod client side things. I spent hours looking through and learning the setup of the bfh and put together my own textures, then when you try and play you get the error "Client contains invalid information (6)"

If you can find out how to add 3d files (aka clothes, hats, etc) without paying...that's illegall, this is basically spray painting, Its not saying you're not going to buy anything else...Something you buy other people see it, other people cant see this

If you're using Windows, uninstall BFH with the control panel and just reinstall it from the browser.

At the moment I don't recall it's possible since its using the Battlefield 2142 (2) engine and it's never been figured out with that, but I'm sure it's possible with some modding and scripting/programming

If you mean the texture in the game don't open it with Winrar, it's a .zip file and it can be opened with the Windows Explorer

If you can't open it with photoshop read the video description for plugin download that supports .dds files, but you need a CS version of Photoshop

In the info you'll see the link for the Nvidia Photoshop plugin for dds, download and install that. You need it to open dds files

No you are modifying the client files. Client will be the player

Everyone else see's the original textures unless they change theirs. But you can always share your textures to other people

I used a picture from google images, you can search something like car wheels or rims and cut it out

I haven't been kicked by PB, I don't even recall BFH having PB but I've never experienced a problem
