Yep, that was Otto Nuss on the organ. I saw the Rivieras rehearsing once back around 1965 and I believe he was playing some kind of Lowrey organ, not a Farfisa.

Last I heard the band was still gigging around their hometown of South Bend, Indiana, with at least some of the original members. Good times, good memories!

Hey folks, this group from Indiana, believe it or not, had a monster of a hit in 1964 just at the start of the beach party songs revolution joining the ranks of The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean in that flavor of music. It would climb to the # 5 spot on the billboard charts and this video addition by Jaqand is quite awesome to say the least. I would love to get a woody and go surfing with this group of girls, wouldn't you, but there is one major requirement, you need to know how to swim!!!

Believe it or not this was not a original Rivieras song... It was actually written by my Grandfather who was the lead singer for the Tempests. The Tempests was another group from the same area of Indiana as the Rivieras. However the Tempests made the mistake of not copy writing it so it was taken from them two or three words were changed and it became the Rivieras hit.... Thats just the Sevison luck I guess...

I've listen the song and its the same tune and words as the later Riveras version. Did your Grandfather tell you anything about how Mr. Jones happened to record this song?
