Just for your information, I am from the UK, and have grown up following Russell's growing fame, eventually ending up in America. I'm not necessarily saying he's regressed all the way back to the drug fueled gigs, but in this clip his behaviour has taken a step back in that direction. I know Russell's humour is very edgy, but normally he backs it up with a cheeky kind of lovableness, however here he just seems obnoxious. Also, since when does laughter make something acceptable? I very much love Russell Brand and his work, and have supported him for a while now, and often been one to defend his name from the ignorant who believe all drug users are bad. And I do admit that the things he says in this video are funny, however, they were at the expense of one woman's dignity and privacy, something which I believe is never ok in comedy. He came across a bit mean and thoughtless at some points, something which surprises me in light of his recent abandonment of his old habits.

He's craving the audience's laughter and love here, and it is that need for attention that makes him go one step too far and tip out the handbag. If you watch him just before he does it, you can see just how much the audience's laughter prompts him. It would be sad to see him take a backwards step after all his recent happiness.
