beautiful voice. but the claddagh ring was created by richard joyce, who was a galway native who was captured by algerian pirates, when he was on a trip to the west indies. he was sold as a slave to a goldsmith then. when he came back to galway around 1690 he invented the claddagh ring, earliest examples of the ring were found around 1700. claddagh was a wee town in glaway, they had their own traditions and traditional clothes.

I didn't know the story about the Claddagh Ring before. You and Rob turned it so lovingly into a song. I like this kind of songs so much. It's like a story written into a poem and then turned into a song. It is a beautiful, quite traditional-like tune, exactly matching the content of the story and you sing it with so much empathy towards the story's character(s), allowing the listener to 'experience' the story rather than just reading or hearing about it.
