Just got done watching this movie. Excellent excellent excellent I can't say enough about how much of a well made documentary it was from start to finish.

I was bored and looking for a movie to watch earlier today. I googled best documentaries of the decade and I went with "The King of Kong" from the list, which I'd never even heard of.
At the very beginning I recognized Billy from some short news clip on Pac-Man. I decided that I was going to buy his sauce instead of Tobasco next time I run out.
Not anymore after seeing the movie. That guy is a prick. Every gamer wants to score as high as they can, but this guy takes it to a ridiculous leve
The movie made it seem like Billy Mitchell was ignoring Steve but he really wasnt in fact they had done some interviews together. Also it makes it seem as if Billy intentionally drove away from his restaurant to avoid Steve Wiebe but actually got his family and introduced them to Steve.
People (like Billy Mitchell himself) have come out and said Mitchell's portrayal in The king of Kong isn't exact, that he's not really a jerk like he was depicted in the documentary... yeah, bullshit. The stuff that was shown is enough to discredit Mitchell and Twin Galaxies as even remotely honest and well-intended.
Wiebe, in my eyes, is still THE top player of DK, and I hope he get's that record again someday. He deserves it.
He never proved it that day...when it mattered. He said himself that to prove to be the best you must play head to head in PUBLIC. Billy Mitchel based on this movie is a hypocrite as he kept dodging Steve to play in public and head to head. The very words BILLY SAID. Moreover he sends in a altered video tape that skips the score and his "buddies" allow it in yet dont allow a video tape score of Steve in.

Look up the current donkey kong high scores. The Billy Mitchell world record was done live, Steve Wiebe is in second with a recorded tape. I know that you think you're correct but you were mislead by a movie. It's not your fault, just read the facts next time.

The movie made it seem like Billy Mitchell was ignoring Steve but he really wasnt in fact they had done some interviews together. Also it makes it seem as if Billy intentionally drove away from his restaurant to avoid Steve Wiebe but actually got his family and introduced them to Steve.

People (like Billy Mitchell himself) have come out and said Mitchell's portrayal in The king of Kong isn't exact, that he's not really a jerk like he was depicted in the documentary... yeah, bullshit. The stuff that was shown is enough to discredit Mitchell and Twin Galaxies as even remotely honest and well-intended.
Wiebe, in my eyes, is still THE top player of DK, and I hope he get's that record again someday. He deserves it.

He never proved it that day...when it mattered. He said himself that to prove to be the best you must play head to head in PUBLIC. Billy Mitchel based on this movie is a hypocrite as he kept dodging Steve to play in public and head to head. The very words BILLY SAID. Moreover he sends in a altered video tape that skips the score and his "buddies" allow it in yet dont allow a video tape score of Steve in.
Fraud. This is why he never challenged Steve that day. He would have git his ass kicked.

Look up the current donkey kong high scores. The Billy Mitchell world record was done live, Steve Wiebe is in second with a recorded tape. I know that you think you're correct but you were mislead by a movie. It's not your fault, just read the facts next time.

The movie was created before Billy Mitchell recaptured the record. Where's the lie? Also, I think the movie captured Billy Mitchell with his true colors showing - he really is an unlikable pompous jackass.
