  • @atkm2891 what are you talking about? Canadian soldiers are fighting and dyeing in afghanistan as we speak.

BTW, which regiment do you serve with?.

  • Man that new Iraqi camo sticks out like sore thump, the ACU the Army is using really blends in good but that Iraqi blue stuff is horrible!

  • If you're talking about the blue digi uniform, it's not supposed to blend in it's for identification purposes as there were some insurgents running around in the old Iraqi police uniform kidnapping people overnight and killing them or putting them up for ransom.Due to the digital pattern and cut of the uniform it's very hard to replicate and has cut down on these incidents.

  • he says neighbours

  • We're not going to abandon iraq like somalia, thrown away after our aborted intervention there. Its a haven for pirates now, who at this time hold 300 hostages ransom and several vessels for millions of $. iraq's strategic oil resources would be sadly bought w/o question by nations if al queda seized power (likely by killing a lot of iraqis and keeping the rest under the gun) and that money would then fund campaigns of terror against other moderate mideast states and ultimately israel.

  • Pathetic that C-Span is the only channel covering newsworthy content.

Thank you C-Span for posting this!!

  • Hopefully us army can keep al queda from coming in and shooting people, bombing people, taking over and setting up car bomb cells, kidnapping policemen, indoctrinating kids to be suicide bombers, the local Iraqis can take over and we can go when they stand up.

  • ..believe this shit?

Yeah. Because I'm over here living it. I've walked the streets with these guys, I've watched their backs and they've watched mine while we each did our jobs.

I've talked with Iraqi's, who for all the negitive press are glad we came and did what we did. They reconize something that most of the West has forgotten, and that is that freedom comes with a price, and that price is blood and chaos. Its a price they are willing to pay, gladly even if it means no more Sadams

  • It's ok that you have an opposing view. I just refuse to believe their lies. you are free to do as you wish but please don't bullshit me about why we are there. Kill them in the name of money and power and be right up front and honest about it. That I respect but absolutely oppose. We put Saddam in power in the first place. It was a ploy. So we removed him because he didn't want to play our game anymore.

thank you for you reply to my comment, I appreciate it even though I totally disagree.

  • no.

  • who cleans up mess when ransacking through items in the house?

  • Ummmm, the people who own them.

Cleaning up the mess that Soldiers made in your house is a small price to pay for having them fighting and dying in your home country to secure your freedom.

It's not like the Soldiers are harming or destroying private property (usually).

  • and the only reason theres a mess at all is becuz of the talibans opening fire on us and we have to defend ourselves but if we werent there theyd b n more trouble the ones who live their realize this its the ungreatful spoiled rotten bastards who live in the u.s and have no idea about the situation think there helping there own by being a bitch and whining from there ivory tower but never the less well said couldnt agree with u more

  • Everyone tries to act like Americans are such a negative force in Iraq. Before the Americans Iraqis were getting hog tied and thrown off buildings for disagreeing with Saddam. The insurgents will not think twice of cutting your head off for acting against them. True it's not ideal to have foreign troops in your country but as long as the insurgents attack troops, troops will fire back.

  • wow, I'm trying to imagine living in a nation with a outside armed force in my country on the streets while going to school, work or going outside in general.

  • I dont understand why US still occupies Iraq. You got rid of Saddam, so now get out, why do we spend our money on US troops in Iraq ?

  • glad to see the people's lives are improving. Our soldiers are doing a great job, hope they come home safe.

  • The US Army can't govern a country! This is a lost cause.

  • Mondo you ever notice that when you start talking people get that glazed loo......I'm sorry what were you saying?

  • whats wrong with the soldiers... why do they never put their helmets on properly??

  • Ummm... Iarsanien are you kidding me?

  • *****
