so this question goes to the light skinned dude your sick on the drums!! umm.. what would you say your fav kit is jw?? I'm thinking and whats sounding best to my ears is all the DW kits especially the maples, starclassic bubinga, and Yamaha Oak Custom what's ur opinion in a few words. anyways thanks bro..
Hey guys, im from new zealand buying a masters mcx from guitar center L.A and was wondering if you choose your own custom colour or choose a preset colour from the site. Thanks
remember the drums are really good, but it takes a damn good drummer to make it sound like this. bro, or whoever is playing the kit, you are an amazing drummer.
WHich would you recommend? Gretsch Renown Maple or Pearl MCX? I'm not a fan of the optimount system. Hate adjusting tom mounts with drum keys.... but if the drums are better, then that's a compromise I'm willing to live with. Thanks for the help.
@cymbalfusion Ok, they are indeed better drums... but do keep in mind the price tag. Performance and BB are a bit more than I can handle at the moment. I still wanna get some decent cymbals and good hardware.
@nmorelli4592 MAybe he's being objective and not suggesting something just to sell it. He might have other preferences. Thats a GOOD thing to see in a person that works for or reps ANY type of retail establishment.
@Andrewfreak86 ya dont know if its to late but i ve owned this kit for a couple months and it sounds incredible. for the money it beats dw and just about any brand.
@gshdrums Eh, I'm not too big on Sonor in general. I'd say that this kit blows any Sonor kit out of the water, but you are entitled to your own opinion.
@gshdrums Well, I think you are completely uneducated and clearly haven't exposed yourself to anything outside of Sonor. They clearly make great drums, as they are considered one of the top drum brands out there, but I have yet to find a Sonor kit that impresses me personally. You need to respect other brands the same way. Whether it be Ludwig, Yamaha, Pearl, Tama, or another brand, you have to admit that you are getting a quality drum set. Sonor isn't the only way to go.
@XxStrongDrums1996xX uneducated and not exposed? Name a kit i aint played....ive played them all.....I also have a Tama Bubinga which a friend has at the moment and right now am playing an Yamaha Oak Custom....Ive played ludwig, pearl, yamaha, sonor, dw, pdp, truth, drum craft, mapex, premier, i use to own a Grestch.....ive played more than you probably will in your life....I know the in and out of shell making....bearing edges....plys....ive probably been playing longer than you have been alive
@gshdrums If you have exposed yourself to so many different drum sets, then why would you say that my ears need to be checked if I'm not impressed by Sonor? If you've truly been around, then you would know that everyone has different tastes, and not everyone is going to like everything. You have no right putting me down because I have different tastes than you.
@XxStrongDrums1996xX im not putting you down......even drum shops have stopped stocking pearl because there quality has become average.....and there sound is to......if you like them good on you....hope your happy playing them...
@XxStrongDrums1996xX Thats y Tama,Pearl,DW,&Yamaha are the best &biggest names in drums. That's why you see way more of these am i wrong or right? Ive had Sonor,Tama,Premier,&more.fav in order is Tama Bubinga,DW maple, then Yamaha Oak Custom.being honest i think the sonor i had was shit.but they do have decent kits just don't see em as much two big artist i know of use them steve, and phil rudd(ac/dc) So..plenty of quality instruments out there PS: btw i play guitar, drums, and bass.
@gshdrums Over the course of the past four months, I've gotten a lot more into Sonor. Just try to realize that everyone has different tastes, and if someone isn't a fan of Sonor, there's no reason to start an argument.
@cymbalfusion what do you mean too low? You dope, those sound fantastic! of course, i think Alphonso Lovelace could probably make anything sound fantastic!
i have a question, are all the mcx series the same just different colors? like i see some in brown and than red, orange are all of them the same?

Just curious...is this video mislabeled? The toms carry indicate "maple" on the badge, but the video is labeled as quilted bubinga.
ynotw57 3 months ago
@ynotw57 Quilted Bubinga is the finish . . .shells are Maple

@cymbalfusion Ah, 10-4. Thanks for the clarification.

Should that be the other way around... tama's overrated and DW is too much

For me this sounds much better than any DW or Tama. I don't like Tama too much and DW is a bit overrated.

@OlliDrummer Factory Heads . . . tuned low . . . .that's a fault of mine. I tend to tune too low

@cymbalfusion it'S not too low unless the heads are flying away when you hit em
