  • i would always go slow then fast. Gold chocobo is a beast

  • Your chocobos are slow :P the way to measure their speed after the 176 "dash speed cap" is to run throught finish line normally and see when it stops. If they go as fast as mine you easily pass the start line again.

  • I never said no to cid except once and I felt bad after so I don't do it anymore.

  • does everyone name at least one of their gold chocobos goldie cuz everyone i know has done it, i have done it, and now this guy has done it?

  • Its.....So.......Fast.....0_o.....~~!!!!

  • LOLZ omg xD

  • You have more than 1 billion 400 million gil...let me guess. Gil Plus materia and facing the magic pots in the north crater?

  • No gil plus materia was ever used. It's selling mastered "all" materia. Each AP you get on an "all" materia is like getting 40 gil. Put 5 "all" materia on Cid's javelin and defeat sea worm (worth 200 AP) and you're essentially getting 80,000 gil each. However, I've gone much further - I've filled up several double and triple growth slots with nothing but "all" materia, leaving the armor for the other stuff. This means I'm getting essentially 250,000 gil per sea worm.

  • I had a black chocobo with speed of 437 once....was a magor glitch or something. but teioh was still faster!!! the S rank chocoboos were all about the same level, they literally finished the long track in like 10 seconds!!! wish i could upload the video...

  • whoa! now I'm just wondering whats the fastest speed (after feeding) for a good/ great/ green/ blue/ black/ wonder?

  • I have a black with a top speed at 176 as well, if I recall. It's been about 3 years (roughly 100 million seconds) since I last touched FF7 so memory is quite fuzzy on this.

  • it seem the gold chocobo max speed i train only reach 175 km, argh!! i wonder, Black C - 147 km + Wonderful C - 118 km. If my Wndrful Chocobo speed is 123 km or higher, would it eventually getting better chocobo?

  • You'll have to experiment. I just used the zeio nut if I recall.

  • @ulillillia Ok, i have try already. This time i use different breeding way, i got both Gold chocobo with 175km speed and mating them with Zeio nuts and i getting a same Gold chocobo but strange... i always end up getting 175km speed but lower chance to get 176km chocobo. I had a big question for square enix what maximum speed they put.

  • Doping

  • The only bad thing about having that top speed in the Rank C and B races is that you have to wait a very long time for the others to finish up. Good thing Teioh shows up in Rank B.

  • @hoho12789

Judging a game by it's graphics is no better than judging a book by it's cover. Why are you watching a FF7 video if you don't even like it? IMO FF7 is a fun game but it's not my favourite FF game.

  • is 147 speed good enough for S rank?

  • Surprisingly, as little as 90 is needed for S rank. I have won races with a speed of 93 or so, but you have to be skilled with blocking, cutting corners, and, most importantly, have the intelligence stat maxed. Switch to manual control first thing before the race starts, hold square once the race starts to speed up, and just let the chocobo go. Avoid sprinting - running is just as fast and uses less stamina (you won't even need R1+R2, even for the long course (of which is easier)).

  • @hoho12789 dude ur retarded i strongly disagree with you feel free to defend ur opinion

  • hahahahaahhaah we can see how you forwarded since the shark was moving so fast noob

  • how u get your speed up i tryed all greens but it only brings my stamina up

  • How do you get your chocobo so fast. My gold chocobo can only go about 160 kph and that stupid kid says I cant raise my chocobos stats anymore

  • I had one chocobo like that too. He's faster running than dashing xD

  • lol so funny its like the flash gorden of chocoos yay!!! lol

  • My bro got a Gold Chocobo back when this game first came out up to 500+ km ...he had no life lol

  • @maldread88 lol That's not possible.

  • @koplabeeno Actually it is, Rarely you'll get gold chocobo's with over 250+ km, If you can manage to breed 2 that both have 250+ sometimes itll come out as 370+ or the same thing. Just godda repeatedly feed the Chocobo's the sages greens and youll get max stats. on the other hand sometimes itll actually glitch your chocobo cause you not to be able to use it nor be able to release it so you jsut have a full stall thats un-usable.

  • @maldread88 or a game...and a good case of sleepiness cause he was dreaming that chocobo, no such thing in the game I'm afraid, having no life has nothing to do with it. Nice to know though :/

  • Tbh, hold shoulder buttons, freeeeeeeeeeeeee sprint. :D

  • im talking about on the when your running around in the towns you have an finger pointing down at your character on the scrren and red icons to show doors and exits... you push select if im not mistaken (its been almost a decade since i mastered that game) to remove the newb markers off your screen... you didnt even know that?

  • I love that cool cablecar/plane/train thing that takes you to gold saucer.

  • Hi, u have helped me out a couple times and I'm tryin to get a gold chocobo, I got a black chocobo and got it up to s rank, got a wonderful chocobo to s rank, I tried to mate em but it says my black chocobo isn't ready to mate cuz "it was just born" how long will I have to wait do u think?

  • I get that often too. I just do about 10 or so battles in the forest around Mideel to master more all materia (with the right setup, it's basically like a million gil per battle, "gil plus" materia not required) then return to try again.

  • @Codeblue194 not very long a few battles should do and use the zio or zeo nut i forgot what it was called but yeah thats about it :)

  • @Codeblue194 For me i just fool around with Midgar Zolom (Giant Snake) 8-10 battle. XD

  • You've helped me so much with alot of games thanks. Glad I subbed you.

  • You can do better. Not in sprint, but in running speed. I have a chocobo that can do the short course in just under 26 seconds without any sprinting. I think I could do better if I put in more effort but I decided to stop there.

At that speed, Teioh is literally no challenge. Teioh's sprint is always higher than yours, but I think his run speed has a limit. A 26-second chocobo leaves him in the dust, no sprinting required.

  • I think the stats for a chocobo you breed are capped at 176 km/hr and 999 stamina. That's the fastest I've ever been able to create and some dude on GameFAQs wrote a faq about it. apparently he hacked the hexadecimal code of the game and said that those were the maximum possible values for a chocobo.

  • Good lord! My gold chocobo couldn't even move that fast! Well done!

  • i bet it was so tedious waiting for the other chocobos to finish ahaha i get annoyed waiting for then so you must have the patience of a saint :P

  • 80 seconds of waiting for the long course is a quite ridiculous. But hey, you get used to it overtime which allows me to resist the waiting very well. Besides, I have tricks up my sleeve where even a 5-minute wait would still be quite manageable.

  • well its not a mod, thats the ps1 version....

  • Look at that chocobo go! Jeez!

Why is Cid riding, and is its top speed measured in km per hour?

  • It's a glitch (class 0 severity, the bottom of the severity scale) that speed is marked as km. It's actually in km/h. 176 km/h is 109 4/11 mph or 48 8/9 m/s.

  • wtf how come i cant register

  • Either you don't have the Highwind, or you don't have a chocobo of your own. Just because you've caught some doesn't mean you can start racing them - you need to rent stalls. The 10,000 gil is dirt cheap when you're out mastering "all" materia. "Exit" and either "mystify" or "seal" also have a very high gil-per-AP return for mastery. The forest around Mideel is the best place to do that (and level up as well) until disk 3. The left path in the final area with W-item is the fastest.

  • @ulillillia i already have 1 mil gil from beating cactar so many times im just trying to level up and get the best iteams and master materia before i go on with the story... but i have no clue were all those places are im sort of a beginner.

  • Mideel is on the continent in the southwest. There's a huge forest around it and it's only accessible once you get the Highwind about halfway through disk 2. The island is accessible once you get the Tiny Bronco, after finishing the events in Rocket Town. My sixth leveling grounds shows this island. The seventh leveling grounds (no video) is available once you get the Highwind (the forest on that same island) and the eighth (under "fastest gil") is available upon reaching disk 3.

  • @ulillillia thnks helped a bunch ill try to remember

  • this is fast one i got 187 speed but that file got erased and its hard to remake it i was trying to get different a blue and green but failed to but i maid a really fast Chocobo but now i can only make them as fast as 105 to 120 and its hard to make that fast anymore i cant remember what i did

  • @super805G i managed to get a plain wonderful chocobo to speed 120 and stamina to 999 but i cant get them higher than that either, not even with a blue or green so i think you need a black or gold to get higher stats

  • wait wtf why did cid ask to ride for me its always tifa

  • @imapikapoo it depends on who is in your battle party as to which one asks to ride

dunno what happens if you have both of them in your party

  • @bogey122572 ah. I had thought it had something to do with who you talk to during the course of the game. I know that If you talk to aerith as little as possible, tifa asks to go on a date with you, and that if you talk to neither barret asks to go with you. (lmfas) so I assumed it had something along those lines. which made me wonder..

  • this is apart of why ff7 was so dam awesome was because of all the mini games and the chocobo breading.... they need to bring this back in ff.

  • how do you get thats speed with the gold chocobo?????

my gold chocobo only have 162 of speed..........do you feed your chocobo with a special seed or something

  • @garinpeiro i think you have to keep breeding gold chocobos and feeding them sylkis greens to up thier stats then breed them again

  • @bogey122572 i think you have to breed the babies to get the upper stats

  • THis Brings back Great memories =(

  • been a long time since i played ff7 and did the chocobo racing to get the gold chocobo. always got my chocobos to think A rank then the blue and green one to S rank can't remember what the fastested speed of my gold chocobos were each time i played through the game. playing the game again. gonna skip the racing and emerald and ruby weapons this time.

  • that sun in the long course creeps me out

  • ya know.......it too hard to get a golden one though ><

  • It's easy actually - just make use of the Chocobo Sage. It is time consuming and rather expensive (mastering "all" materia works wonders for that - each mastered "all" sells for 1.4 million gil so just put a bunch of "all" materia on a double growth weapon or armor (triple growth even, but 4 doubles is better than 2 triples)). If Fort Condor sells them, buy them. If they don't have them, you'll need to use those you already have or make more story progress until they do.

  • as soon as the ship music started playing it felt a tear come to my eyes. I love ff7!

  • 0_0 ....wow....

  • 1,432,842,917.

  • sonic the hedgehog

  • i wanna know why the chocobo its name is chocobo..

  • 2 things, its pretty boring waiting for the other chocobos to show up after demolishing them, and do the prizes differ when choosing between short and long courses?

  • It is boring... and annoying. Too bad there isn't a 10x mode, where things go by 16 times faster until the final stretch, starting once the player crosses the finish line. This'll turn 80 seconds of waiting to 5 which is much more doable to most. I don't know of any differences in the prizes for the short and long courses - I haven't paid much attention to that. 99% of what's there is junk anyway, but there are some useful ones. The junk does have use though - GP.

  • @ulillillia That's why emulators make me happy. Waiting for those annoying waits to end? 32x SPEED!

  • Cloud's balls must be numb after riding a chocobo that fast lol:)

  • WTF IS THAT FAST !

  • How did you do that?! I only have a chocobo that goes 142 mph

  • Or just hold R1+L1+R2+L2 and it's very easy...no matter what....

  • Even with the long course and not holding both R buttons, I could easily win races. Just use manual control, speed up first thing, and cut corners, all without sprinting. The pacing speed, for me, is the same as the sprinting speed and sprinting would just waste stamina.

  • ... lol ...

  • that vid. brought me on an important question!

when you have the highwind, did some of you once flo to the north-east part of the map? 'cause there is a small island that looks like a tiny version of the north hole

1.) can you set foot on it? (cause I can't land with highwind on the forest) 1.1) how?

2.) is there something special about it?

  • See my "chocobo-only caves" video for details on this. You must have a gold chocobo in order to reach it and there's a very good reason for it.

  • @oblivion174 thats the best materia dungeon go to it with a golden chocobo and you will get knights of the round

  • How do you make it that FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Goldie! Ludicrous Speed NOW!! :D

  • Very Impressive. 5* for the gold =D

  • Teioh has never been hard for me to beat and i don't even have a gold, black, blue or green chocobo...in fact if im not mistaken i have either a "so-so", or a "average" chocobo....fed it some sylkis greens to get it's stamina up to 999....and race on the long track(only because teioh can zoom through the slow part of the track and i can't lol)

  • L1+R1+L2+R2...

  • how come it wont let me breed my blue and green chocobos that were born

  • You'll need to pass time in order to get your blue and green chocobos to mate and, as expected, one must be male and the other must be female (it makes no difference whether the male one is the green or blue one). Race each to the highest rank you can get (S is the best, but if you stand little chance with A, then stop with A). If you still can't just do a few random battles or whatever to pass more time (I usually use the forest around Mideel).

  • 176 is the max speed, no matter if u breed 2 gold chocobos 100x or any other colours...

I have never seen more than this value

  • with me my chocobo ran faster than it sprinted it fealt like swithving between the two was the best way for speed i dont care lol once u get gold ur an idiot if u lose

  • Such a ball ache having to wait for the others chocobos to finish

  • i dont get it ive cross breeded gold s classes with zeios lots and lots of timeas and peaked at 158

  • did u have to breed 2 fast chocobos or did you catch it or... howd u get it

  • You can pretty much just breed any 2 chocobos - just give them the zeio nut. When I first got the gold on this game, it was, if I recall, 161. I just mated a black and a gold using the zeio nut and spotted the 176 speed. My black was 130-something. I also have a black with 176 as well, thanks to the zeio nut. I don't know if this works with other types of chocobos though - I haven't tested it.

  • The guide says to mate a Wonderful Chocobo with a Black Chocobo. Will that give a fuper fast Gold Chocobo?

I will be mating a Wonderful Choc with a Black Cock, all my previous Chocs are all Rank A (since rank S was way to hard).

What is the difference between Zeio Nut and Carob Nut? Does Zeio increase chances of getting a Gold? Or does it just increase speed of the offspring?

  • The zeio nut is required for the gold chocobo. The carob nuts are required for the special chocobos. I have no idea what happens when you mate a 176-speed black chocobo with a 115+-speed wonderful, but I'd suspect you'd get a 176 gold as that seems to be the cap.

  • mine's 175. I thought no one could beat it. WELL DONE MAN!

  • Nice man, mines just beats you at 177 ^^,they shuld make an online feature with chocobos if they ever do a remake(fingers crossed!)

  • Well well not bad but my record lies on 226 ^^ and what did this black joe do he had a chokobo with 241 ^^

  • i wanted a red white n purple one and my highest speed was 198 :)

  • wow, my fastest chocobo is only 158, and i never lose. 176 is pretty damn high, must of took alot of time and patience. kudo's

  • speed of mine was over 200 :\ i'd get bored waiting for the others to cross the finishing line after i'd won an left them in the dust :\

  • my fastest ever chocobo was 180km

  • same

  • LOL!! HAAAAAAAAAX!

  • how did you do this?

  • chocobo breeding has to come back for XIII it would be awesome

  • Oh man, this music... So many wonderful hours breeding chocobos. :)

  • .................. DAYUUUMM

  • hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

  • I....... that was so beautiful...... o.o

  • And trust me, I was just as stunned as you must have been when you saw yours.

  • Thisone's just slightly faster than the one I have right now. Mine's top speed is 175 km/h.

  • ......lol?!? xDD

  • if anyone is wondering wonderful chocobos are grabbed from north but only from the battles that its with the rabbit monsters

  • O_O that is one fast bog chicken chocobo

i have a male black chocobo and a wonderful yellow one

how do i know if i get a gold one

    will it shine?

  • Gold chocobos flash between a glittering golden color and a dull pinkish gray color about 15 times a second (30 changes per second). You'll need a zeio nut in order to get a gold chocobo and supposedly more to raise the maximum speed to up to 176.

  • My chocobo's speed through my years of playing and re-breeding chocobos are always around 160 - how the hells do i get it higher? i'm aware mating the fasthing chocobos u have with zeo nut and feed skylis greens, and carry on the process but the top speed i've ever reached is about 169.

  • cool

  • Just started playing ff7 again. Breeding chocos again , can't seem to get a black one though after a good 30 trys (with soft resets). Can't really train them up my coloreds got 57 speed before greens =\

  • Try for S rank for every chocobo type. Even a chocobo with a top speed of 90 can do it, even without the stamina boosting trick. If you can't get S rank, go for A. By raising the chocobo's rank, you get much greater odds of getting a special chocobo.

  • hmm...I started to re-play this game, but I can't seem to get my Blue, Green, and even Black chocobo to higher than 120 km. Old files of mine, had a max of 115 to 130 km, but cant seem to get it anymore, any why? Lol...maybe its my first 2 Chocobos that I get and have crappy of 95-106 km? Now im worried about the Gold one. =[

  • When mating any chocobos, just give the Zeio nut, stolen from goblins. This, as far as I'm aware, increases maximum speed.

  • hmm...okay thanks dude. =) I just mated to get a Black one, I don't know why its speed its 118 lol...I had one with a max of 130 in my old files, hopefully my Gold chocobo will be higher.

  • I've got a black with 176 - all I did was give the Zeio nut....

  • hey just beat emerald weapon

  • I have, and I have a video of it too... defeating Emerald Weapon twice in under 4 minutes each case.

  • u gotta mate a green and blue one with one of those nuts u steal from the dinosaur like creature near bone village

think its called named carob or something

then mate a wonderfull chocobo with that black and u'll get a gold =)

try to win some races before u breed them, im told that improves the odds

visit the chocobo sage (northern continent) for help if u dont get there :)

  • your playing the ps version im guessing because of the stamina bug that lets u keep alot of stamina by holding the triggers. the PC version is much harder to get to class S

  • It's actually just as easy, even for the long course, to get S rank. By maxing stamina and intelligence (sylkis greens), just speed through the entire race without sprinting - speed up first thing. Even though I'm only aware of the PS1 version, I can pretend that the stamina recovery bug is not present (don't hold the two R buttons).

  • true true, i just haven't tried too hard to get S class, as my goal of getting a gold choco was to get kotr, and i named it goldie too haha :D

  • My Gold Chocobo is the exact same.

  • lol that chocobo's on speeeeeeeed!

  • ive made so many gold chocos :D

  • i shouldnt have sold my FF7 game.... lol

  • lol you named your gold chocobo Goldie too? xD

  • xD WHOOAAAA. Dude, i read your description and im thinking..no way... Then the start, i almost fell off my chair xD

    Great work. *clap*

  • my gold chocobo have 177 os speed... 176 isn't the max...

  • I heard from a guide that 176 is the max speed you can get :p

  • Anyway, I've noticed a glitch with the Teioh program. Whenever he starts a race, note he *warps* from his placement and starts on the exact same placement as the player? I've had my chocobos on every spot on the starting line, and Teioh is ALWAYS right on-top of me. This helps slightly, as he is pushed BACKWARDS from the starting line, giving you a chance to Sprint or speed-up away from him.

  • how do u change your chocobo's rank because i raced with mines and i won and it stayed C rank

  • Simple: win 3 races. This video shows this. S rank is the highest it goes - win 8 S-rank races or so and you get a bunch of items.

  • u gotta win 3 races in each rank to advance to the next rank

  • hey if its not to much trouble could someone explain this chocobo breeding thing, i never really understood it...

  • Chocobo Sage is the best place to start.

  • i just never got into chocobo racing and wanted to start now

  • Lol when i started this, I tried really hard to get gold choboco. But that damn ass idiot kept slowing me down with his empty brain.

  • AND YOU DID IT ON CID!

    CID FTW!

  • This may seem noobish, but while in the space area and water area of the races, how do you speed your chocobo up, with me they always slow down.

  • Mountain, black, and gold chocobos are able to go through these at full speed. It should actually be the river chocobo (of which climb slopes faster) that goes through the space and water areas quickly but a bug has these flipped around.

  • ulillia, I suggest you keep breeding that, I had a chocobo with 244 speed and TEIOH/Joe went into speed overflow (Over 255 speed) meaning he came in last in every race xD

  • Actually it would be 233. He gets 10% more speed. However, this is actually impossible....

  • PC version has an increased speed cap. Thats where I got ma Chocobo. And if he gets a 10% increase - 10% of 244 = 24

    244+24 = 268, Variable overflow of 13, TEIOH's speed = 13

  • haha im playing the game the now and cid just decided to go on my chocobo :)

  • Tifa can do it too

  • OMG I JUST SAW YOUR GIL

  • ... mine is only 174 speed 999 stamina

  • which buttons are R2 and R1 ON PC?? :x

  • Page Up - Page Down

  • on some programs you can change the controls yourself via the 'options' on the program window.

  • goodlord!!!!

  • first gold chocobo i ever had (talkin like 10 years or so ago lol) was about 175 or so. i didnt think it was a big deal. lol

  • darn! i was going to post a video with a 175/999 gold chocobo, but now theres no point! lol good job

  • FFVII Is available to download on the PSP now! cheack the Latest in the PSN Store! its £7.99 in the UK, I got it last night! its brill to finally carry the game around XD, Oh ulillillia could you make a guide on achieving this ultimate chocobo!? this is great stuff!

  • I've been wondering... is it the FULL game?

  • yes, i got it on my PS3 the day they released it on the PS Store

  • 10 bucks on PSN. can't beat it

  • hell no, man! i've never even played it before it released on the PSN but people made such a big deal about it and i heard it was one of the best games ever so i decided to get it... and it is one of the best games ever!

  • @RGregg0528 best deal of my life.

  • i know, to be able to play ff7 whenever you want is just awesome!
