First off this is a decent review but somethings I can say are can be fixed. Like when he said the phone needs onboard memory cause it moves slow when listening to music well if you get a class 6 sd card then it isnt slow and the processor on that phone vs the moment isnt really recognizable.I have had both phones and its not a big difference as it looks on paper. Also, if you root the hero then pinch to zoom is much smoother and i havent noticed keyboard lag

yes i've been expiriencing that for about a month now, i've read online that its a widespread thing with android not hero specific and it really only happens with peoiple who use the application often. wait your talking about the on board memory if i remember correctly the hero HAS AN SD SLOT the pre DOESNT thats all you get you cant extend it so they had to give it a good bit of mem

@ElSerg3000 Here are some tips. That login problem that takes a few seconds to get going on your browser is from Sprint's powerdeck. Get rid of it or use another browser. You probably have your flash and java enabled too I bet, disable those and the browser is VERY fast. Also, dont go Widget crazy, that also slows down the overall performance. Your complaints were very minimal. If you want blazing speed, but a phone with the Snapdragon processor and vanilla Android 2.1. Sense is not for you
well if footballs your thing , it comes with a great one preinstalled, the sprint nfl one does all i need it to do really. Espn has some cool apps via the market too, im going to be doing some application videos ill cover that in there, make sure to subscribe

a thing about the music being accessed through the microsd card. There are several classes for cards which pretty much sum up the information transfer speed of the card. I'm pretty sure the stock card isn't that great. If you had a class 4 kingston or something in there it'd be a lot smoother.

How are you even going to compare the pres onboard memory to the hero's ? The pre does 8gb on board...but if you put alot of music and apps...its all used up..The hero im not sure how much on board memory it has but it does have a microSD slot...up to 32gbs. Stop whining over little crap.

The complaint is not about lack of memory , its abouthow long it takes the phone to read the information from an sd card vs reading the info from flash memory , and ill whine all I want , after all. this is a video about what I didn't like aboutthe phone . typing on the hero with the onscreen keyboard is better than most phones. Iphone can keep up but does it have good work correction (I think not). even with the flaws this phone is great. Even with slight lag I can type quicker then a hardware keyboard. Get a SDHC card to make loading the music quicker. You can't compare the pre and Iphone with internal memory vs a phone with removable SD. 2.1 will make the phone close to perfect. Decent review though

i have HTC Hero form Sprint too,,
but my old one(same phone) had some battery problems so I went to sprint and they just gave me a new one(this happened today).
and i noticed that the new one that i got is slightly different and its ways faster than my old one.
