disagree. If the crowd is shouting as loud as they can, and you still can't hear them, the music is too loud. I hate performing when the audience is drowned out, kills the atmosphere. Also, if someone is screaming straight into the microphone it is almost always going to be louder than the music anyway.
Note from the DJ :) The music was cranked all the way up. That and the DJ wasn't next to the crowd, but as the crowd got louder I did turn the music up. Didn't get one complaint at the event that their music was too quiet, which happens at most other comps I've been to.

Not to mention that according to science, the intensity of sound is an inverse square relationship to distance.
I was at this competition and had no problem hearing the music throughout the entire routine. Good job DJ!
