I have a super modded black and a pink too. Swapped necks on the black one to a 22 fret rosewood. Cold rolled steel bridge. A white Duncan "black out" planet waves locking tuners n 500k volume pot with a kill switch mod... I love that turd as much as my modded 85 MIJ system 3 contempory strat. The pink one I refretted the neck to stainless frets and used a brass nut and bridge with a supra distortion n the same other mods... I bought them mint for 150 a piece. They get killer reactions on stage!
@7Stringerstinger The pickup is body mounted so you have to take the pickguard off, and then unscrew the pickup from the body. You have to watch it, though. It's a little tricky with this guitar, you might have to make the pickguard a bit larger for aftermarket pickups. I have a TB5 on mine.
Hey bro, cool vid! I'm considering buying this guitar, because I still have some spare parts flying around and this guitar seems perfect for modding. So is it possible to exchange pickups on this one? I want to put in a EVH Frankenstein pickup, an old Warmoth neck and a chrome Floyd Rose. XD
I haven't modded this one but it looks like it'd be a simple job of replaced the pickup (usual simple strat set up). Not too sure on the floyd rose though as this has got a fixed bridge
Ah I see. Cool, so it's just a regular Strat set-up under the pickguard. No problem. And yeah, I know it's a fixed bridge, that will be the tricky part because I have to rout the cavities for the Floyd, but it's no big deal. Thanks bro!
Where the strings come through the body and then go 90 degrees to the headstock, that bit of metal is a bridge. This one is fixed, which means it doesn't move at all, unlike a normal strat or a floyd rose which goes both ways.
I wanted a cheapo guitar that was simple - ie one humbucker and a volume pot. It was just a bonus that it had an oversized headstock and also was Hello Kitty, which I thought was quirky enough to be kinda cool
Ur wrong ;o It's made for metal gods ! I'd I've been in the store playing some badass breakdowns on it ;p u would just buy it for the reactions XD but I'm a drummer in bands so that would be a waist of money QQ otherwise I would have bought it ;p
Every real guitarist has one of there.

Great playing but the guitar is not Hello Kitty enough. It has to be PINK. No exceptions. =)

Rocking out with a stock Hello Kitty strat is bad ass...
Upgrading several parts isn't. You might as well buy a quality guitar and put a Hello Kitty sticker on it. It's pointless.

If i replace the strings on my black hello kitty guitar, will it sound better?

@taysyd94 its only insignificant improvement.

add a white emg 81

it'll be getting an uprated humbucker once I trash the strings and get round to taking it all apart - the standard pickup is pretty shitty

my hk has an white emg 81x

@alacardo1
Don't think that's worth it. Installing an active humbucker on a body build for a normal one is really fucking hard.

@alacardo1 i just bought the same guitar today and this was my first thought!

Who said Hello Kitty couldn't rock?
Now we need somebody to play jazz or country with a B.C. Rich Warlock!
Thanks for posting.
