Throughout history when energy became scarce buildings designed to use heat from the sun have reemerged. Passive solar design should have become convention a thousand years ago. What wind and solar cannot power we can get from plants, the ultimate solar collectors. Oil and coal are fossil plants, we can fuel a smart decentralized economy safely and sustainably with plants, they fuel us and they can fuel our needs. Cynthia is right, we must choose a smarter more dependable energy path now.
