my favourite WWII plane alongside P-47 and german Bf-109. B-25 maybe was not as successful design as P-47, but it still was a wonderful piece of aircraft.
Off to bomb TOKYO! I've actually had the privilege of standing right in the middle of Eglin Field, the same place where Jimmy Doolittle's raiders trained!
Not any flying B-29s that I know of, only a few statics and projects; Quite a few B-17s still, as well as B-25s. Only one flying B-24, with other projects and statics in various areas. Runour has it someone's trying to get a 2nd B-24 up.
@vizzano Hi , my father also flew this great aircraft. His name was Lt Einar Muhonen and i think he was stationed around Columbia air base in 1942. He had an incident where the the pilot's chute unlatched the escape hatch and out he went with a full billowing chute. (Mahaffee) .
except my dad grabbed his foot and held on. and held on to the controls. a crew member was able to grab the other foot and somehow they landed this bomber
and save his life. All the B 25 crews wanted togotoTokyo.
these things are crazy loud

My father flew these in WWII and was in love with them until the day he died on 6/1/07. He was a 2nd Lt. and a flight instructor and a hell of a man!
