  • original setting need to be avail for us to be able to see 1080i or youtube default to 1080p(ya they convert it etc)

  • Nice video...

  • What is the name of the song you used

  • @PavlovBulgaria see the video info

  • @webmotion87 oh, sry I didnt see that. thanx ;]

  • amazing! i m thinking to take my self one what did you suggest bud? its good?

    and how im uploading it?

  • nice

  • how do you upload to the computer with good quality?

  • @CDFfilms I just copied the MTS file from the camera to the HDD and uploaded it straight to YouTube, that way it was only converted once.

  • @webmotion87 Hi!! Im planning to buy a Sony HDR-CX115 or something like that.. Is it good? And Do you know how many this fps can shoot in?? 60fps would be fine can it do that? :) Reply as fast as you can please!!

  • @LewiNkz Hi! It can not record with 60 FPS. Instead, in full HD it records 50 half frames (interleaved stuff), which later can be digitally "doubled" to get an 50 FPS feel (of course, this means it will be only half the vertical resolution. Search for 25p, 50p and 50i to get more info on that.

  • @LewiNkz oh and I'm talking about the CX105E of course, i'm not familiar with the CX115's specs.

  • @webmotion87 how many fps can this shoot in :D

  • @LewiNkz 25.

  • @webmotion87 maximum!?

  • Hey is this the same camera? amazon.co.uk/Sony-HDRCX105ES-Definition-Handycam-Camcorder/dp/B001PGXA3W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290789694&sr=8-1

  • @MrJeshu based on the specs, yes. Mine is a HDRCX105E, no "S" in the end, but it looks like the same stuff.

  • lol @ that open door at 0:20

  • just got the cam today and it stripes very much. can u tell me what to do?

  • @domsen149 the keyword is "deinterlace", google around it for various techincs, the key is to properly deinterlace the raw 50i material into eg. 25p

  • Gonna buy one! I am really impressed!

  • Are u happy with the cam?

  • @helgexx yep, totally :)

  • Thanks, great quality. Thinking of buying this one, does it handle fast objects good? ex, sports footage

  • @maxwadsten1 it does okay, not great... maybe you should go for something CCD-based to if you're about to film fast objects. You can read about various artifacts of CMOS and CCD sensors at "dvxuser . com / jason / CMOS-CCD"

  • @maxwadsten1 I would say it handles fast object pretty good! I got one myself. You will not be dissapointed:)

  • amazing! what is the name of song?

  • Hi! It's in the video info (click "more info").

  • Hello. Sorry for bothering you but i have a question. If i am a filmmaker, so which cam do you advise me to buy - CX105 or CX305? The CX305 has Sony G lenses so i think it would be better, but, after watching so many CX105 vids on youtube i begin to think that CX105 is also a very god cam (or maybe just half of that CX105 test vids on YouTube are fake).

And is a CX305 more like a half-professional camcorder? Or it is still bad for cinematographic use?

    Thank You.

  • @pshkflms I'm not that into Sony cams, but CX305 seems to cost more than twice as the CX105 and I doubt that it's twice the image quality. If you can afford a CX305, I'd suggest you save up to a Canon or Nikon DSLR (eg. the 90D) with HD video capability, the image quality is just superb, even in low lights. Look for test videos on YouTube and Vimeo.

  • The train seem to move slower at high zoom rates.

  • impressive quality

  • nice, just wanted to know how long time is the battery during?

  • The factory battery lasts about 60-90 minutes approx, and since it can only record an hour in full HD (if you only use the internal 8GB memory), it's totally enough. However, you can buy extended batteries (I've bought one for about 40 Euros, it lasts for more than 2 hours recording).

  • Thank you!

  • @webmotion87

Hi man who is better the CX105 or the CX106 for what i know the only diference is the color the CX106 have more Digital Zoom and 5.1CH sound i like the multichannel sound..

CX105=380 Euro and the CX106=335 please if some one can tell me with one is better cuz it is on offer for 3 Days..

    Tnx and great video 5/5

  • Heyhey! IMHO digital zoom is useless, if you want to zoom digitally do it afterwards during the postprocess for better quality, and as far as 5.1CH sound don't expect anything big. I just got a Sony DCR DVD109E which has 5.1 sound and it's really not that big a deal. If you're on a budget, go with CX105, unless you have concrete need for the extra sound channels.

  • Wow this looks just amazing dude!! 5 stars!

  • Can you tell me mate if this item has an external mic input?

  • Unfortunately it doesn't. You can only use the integrated stereo microphone.

  • @webmotion87 Thanks for replying. I'm going to buy this camcorder, how would you assess the video quality when shooting fast moving objects? And how about the image stabilization? I intend to shot while riding a bike. How would you rate this product in terms of action filming? Thanks.

  • I'm not quite sure, I've only tried walking around with the camera, it's pretty good if there's enough light. If you want to attach your camera to your helmet it's probably gonna be okay..

  • Spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

  • How this original clip look on HDTV, or PC screen compares to this uploaded on youtube? Is the same, or there's a difference in quality? And how much?

  • It's different, YouTube's version is more compressed, uses lower bitrate, less detailed... I can't tell you "how much", unfortunately I don't even have the original file so I can't send it to you.

  • @webmotion

what about the quality after converting into wmv? is it the same?

  • Depends. Just as with any other codec: if you use the right settings, the quality's retainable. Make sure the bitrate is high enough (experiment with short clips!), keep the original resolution and keep an eye on the FPS as well, the original HD videos are in 50 "half frames" per sec (interlaced), so you may need to deinterlace somehow and the best bet is 25 or 50 FPS.

  • how long you can record video on 8 Gb memory? and that's the biggest memory card that this camera support? 32gb?

  • In Full HD (1080i) quality, it can record approx. an hour on the internal 8 GB memory. Note that Sony makes the HDR-XR105 and HDR-XR106 cameras which are almost identical to this, but has internal hard drives with much bigger capacity. I don't know about the Memory Stick limit, you should Google it and/or check the official user's manual (download it).

  • Thank you for fast reply,if you will have a free time...check personal message i'll send you.

  • Cost - 2200zł (550 euro) in Poland :(

  • In Finland lowest price is 449 €...buy from Germany, there you'll get cheapest price for this device.

  • @KIRKAD12

Netherlands, cheapest is 333€ at redcoon + 50€ cashback ;)

  • Nice...i'm want to buy this camera with Sony SPK-HCE water case. I'm going to record some underwater footage.

  • what software did you use to open the MTS file? because i can't open it.

  • check the previous comments dude

  • When I take the footage off of the camcorder (I have the one youve got) It's not HD atall. I used the grey cable to take the footage off. Do I need a HDMI cable to see the HD resolution?

  • yikes! grey cable? what kind of cable is that? to watch the footage on a HDTV you will need a HDMI cable (not included) for full resolution, or you could just watch it on a PC or Mac, for that you'll need the included run-off-the-mill miniUSB cable to copy the MTS video files (which are in HD if you took them in HD, note the |HD|FH| icon on the cam's LCD display while recording).

  • I have this camcorder but am finding it very difficult to use due to the codec of ".mts". I downloaded the codec so I could use it on Windows Media Player which works now, but whenever I want to edit anything the videos arn't accepted. Windows Movie Maker, it accepts them but the video is just black. I tried 2 other video editing softwares and they didnt work at all? Any advice?

    Thanks. Andy

  • On PC I used Mirillis Splash for raw MTS playback, and used 3rd party for conversion to DivX AVI (Aiseesoft MTS converter, AVS Video Converter 6, Divx Converter or Any Video Converter) or use Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro or newer for raw MTS import.

  • @dansmasta0

The same people who make PowerDVD Ultra 9 (which plays HD content, blu-ray, mts, etc..) make a piece of software called PowerDirector. Blows away Windows Live Movie Maker (which supports the HD content on Windows 7 but not Vista).

So in a nutshell - find Cyberlink PowerDirector! Have fun!

  • how is the qualitiy when i film the moon, for example?

I wonder wheter the qualitiy is really that bad at night.

  • Do you recommend this camcorder? What quality is in lowlight?

  • lowlight quality is acceptable, but not great, check out the "young bluesers" videos

  • When you have digital zoom, it looks like a Standard Definition camcroder.

Upon zooming out, you see the transition from 'ok' quality to 'great'.

The colour seeps back in from a washed out image, lines become crisp, and it looks a lot better. A great example of quality in my opinion.

  • Did you digital zoom on computer??

  • No, that's only the 10x optical zoom on the camera. Also there's nothing altered on that video, I've uploaded it straight to YouTube from the cam (the raw MTS file).

  • very good work!!!

  • great vid.

but do you know if the cx105e is better then the xr105e

  • picture quality is probably the same, the xr has a 80 GB HDD (cx has a 8GB internal memory) and dolby 5.1 instead of cx's 2.0 sound

  • well, i'm going to buy the xr i think,

    thnx for the help ;)

  • I might buy it to. Looks awesome, make more vids

  • gets a lot from a simple zoom!

too bad Sony has compatibility problems. too much converting to the larger market.

  • depends, if you use the latest Sony Vegas or iMovie '09 on a Mac, it's a breeze and you don't need to convert your stuff at all.

  • Is this cam better than

    PRAKTICA DVC 10.1 HDMI?

  • Damnd thank you mann you destroyed my Scared things About this Cam.

I buy it soon oh yeah.

  • Damn I'm gonna get this camcorder one day!

  • and, how is it? :)=

  • what do you think, is this a good cam to film skateboarding?

  • It's cheap, it's compact, makes decent pictures, you can use fisheyes with it (just get a 30.5mm one or a converter to use a bigger one)... if you don't have much money, it's a pretty good choice I think.

  • Comment removed

  • You mean that crappy little thing that looks like and makes videos like a hi-end camera phone? And where's the zoom on that thing? BTW show me a video made by a Zi8 that looks better than eg. that test footage.

  • Comment removed

  • Compared to what? That is an 400 EUR camcorder, and I think it's pretty decent for the price. By the way the original footage looks better in full HD and higher bitrate compared to that 720P lowbitrate MP4 version (generated by YouTube).

  • maybe the steam of the train ?

  • Okay, the train wasn't THAT old :D

  • okay thanks alot :)

  • yeah windows movie maker, and what does RTFM stand for, which program do you use to convert the files ?

  • don't be dumb. skate4fun2204 already asked me for converters, read my reply to his comment below.

  • i have problem with my camera its same one as yours. I cant get in to my movie maker program, can you anyone help me out,

  • yeah, RTFM :) but seriously. which movie maker program? windows movie maker? than you'll need a converter for sure, check my older comments for tips.

  • well done

  • Hi this is superb quality? I am a English filmmaker and next year am shooting a small project in Vietnam, mostly on motorcycles. Therefore we're after something light but great quality. Do you recommend this camera? From what you've shot it here it looks superb value for money? many thanks.

  • Hey Daniel! Thanks for your comment. To tell the truth I wouldn't recommend that camera to a filmmaker, and not because of the quality but because it's simply not for a pro. It does not have an audio input, there are only a few options to configure the picture, no manual focuses, only 10x zoom, etc. Of course if those doesn't bother you and you're about to film something minimalistic, go ahead and buy it: it's in great value, also very sturdy and small. If you have further questions, message me!

  • Hi thanks for getting back to me, your thoughts and advice is really appreciated

  • that is beautiful quality. im gonna try this with my brother's sony HD hard drive cam, and upload the raw file just to see what it looks like :D

  • I don't remember.. it was under 200 MB, no big deal :) I've just uploaded a 5:54 long video, 724 MB in the original MTS AVCHD format (17158 kbps total bitrate)... used the same cam, check it out.

  • how did you get such high quality in youtube??

  • Dunno :) I've uploaded the original 1080i M2TS file, so it was only converted once (by YouTube, into 720p MP4).

  • what did you upload with? straight from editor software, or did you export it first

  • Straight from the camera. I didn't use any editor or converter software, I just copied the M2TS file straight from the internal flash.

  • i have the same camera, but i dont understand, why cant i but the m2ts files into vegas? do i have to convert them, and in case which program should i use?

  • Sony Vegas 8+ should import the Sony m(2)ts files natively. If it doesn't try converting it first; I've used Aiseesoft Total Video Converter (35$). You could try the freeware Any Video Converter or SUPER first, I didn't have luck with them. Also, the shareware DivX converter handles M(2)TS, but you'll need to download the free AC3 filter to get sound.

  • nice footage. im going to buy this cam for skydiving.

but do you play it in slowmo? cuz that realy dont look like 90-100kmh.

  • it isnt slowed, it just looks slow because he's zoomed in

  • hello!! I think this camcorder has very good quality... Anyway... Could you send me the music or give me an URL?? Thanks

  • Thanks! About the music: it's from the YouTube AudioSwap library, I've never heard it before. Try googleing the artist/song title.

  • Artist: Leo Der Stapanians

    Song: In Between

  • Awesome movie! Can you give me song name and tell me how did you do those zoom?

  • Thanks. The song is called In Between (Alternate version) by Leo Der Stapanians. The footage was taken from the last wagon's back window, and it's really just simple zooming between 1x and 10x.

  • Thanks for the some name :) But I see there, on the movie, some slow down effect. I have the same model of camera and I don't think I have slowing down effect.

  • Nope, there's no effect, it just looks that slow if you zoom to the max while going fast backwards. Try it out from a car or something.
