Hey Don just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the great help! I'm Minnesotan by birth but live in Denver and contrary to popular belief most of Colorado is NOT a frozen winter wonderland! (Jan 16th and 60 degrees today!) Your tips on lager brewing and steam yeast strains were great! Cheers!
@bigjlw1975 I've been to Broomfield and Fort Collins a little bit. Nice part of the country. We are at -14 this am. :( Brr. good weather for fermenting lagers though, which I will do a "pure" lager this weekend. Glad you like the vids.
Yeah people need to suck it up and get with the homebrewing fashion which mostly consists of seeking answers. I really appreciate the videos you posted and def. got me on the fast track to home brewing, kegging and all grain. Thanks Don!!!
Thanks again for another video Don. All your subscribers really like them (or we wouldn't surprise) and find them informational. You are the person who truly convinced me to go AG and I made a mash tun just like yours and used your website to show me how to make the full switch. There could be a ton of good things your could still do like getting into kegging or some other cool brewing gadgets or tips. Keep up the good work...GO PACK GO!!!
@rohloffj great comment. yes, go Pack! well, I appreciate all the comments. I will try to do them from time to time. The Wed update idea is not a bad one. I could see doing those but prob not every week. Enjoying some WEt Hop Rye IPA as I type this, which turned out pretty well. I never did a video review of it though...
Hey. Beery Christmas man! I'm spending some time out in Wisconsin and came across "New Glarus Brewing Co". They have a lot of beers you can only get in state here.. Wondering if you might sometime do a review of the New Glarus "Fat Squirrel".
@rayofminneapolis I've had most NG beers that they have made. :) WI is only a half hour from me and my parents live there (I grew up there). Fat Squirrel is one of their basic lineup and not one of my favorites, but overall they are one of my favorite breweries.
@donosborn What would you suggest for high hops.. I normally like Summit Red Horizon. Used to drink their Northern Porter.. I didn't like Spotted Cow to much.. 2 Women was ok, but I like Fat Squirrel better. ..trying to find the Coffee Stout somewhere.
@rayofminneapolis You mean for New Glarus? Their best hoppy beers come from time to time in their Thumbprint series (Imperial IPA for one). Their pale ale is ok. Or do you mean in general? Bells Two Hearted, Surly Furious, Sierra Nevada Torpedo (and Celebration) are all good hoppy ales.
@jlachowin1 Ha, yes. You bet'cha. Thanks for the comments. I'll keep doing vids from time to time. All the "homebrew Wed" ideas are interesting. I suppose I could try to do that. I haven't really been aware of it, and until now have not had a clamoring for it! :)
Oh thank god you are back! Any updates on what you are up to are always welcome. I agree with the other comment that you should participate in the homebrew wednesday updates that other BREWtubers are doing.
Hi Don, Lemme` just start by thanking you (again i think) for all the videos that you did make - So thanks a lot bro..you are an inspiration
But if I may..there are alot more subjects to cover if you have the time and the drive - It seems to me you make a lot of different styles and some hybrids..how about a vid on recipe formulation or funky beers your way, or lagerbeer making grain to glass ( some of us still struggle whit that style )..
Do homebrew wednesday that sjporr made up do a video every wednesday showing everyone what your up to its kinda like a forum but on youtube and with videos not pictures hahaha.
Just start filming while you make your brews! 2mins here, 2mins there.... boom; video.
