i dont understand what you are doing with your elbows. are you driving them into your leg? when i put my knee behind him and sit back down my opponents guard is still closed
@k3nd4lll Keep your legs farther away from him when you pop up. Notice in the video that I'm leaving my base far enough away from him that he can't really reach down and grab either side.
Thanks for watching, and please check out the site!
"im going to pop up remember when we talked about standing" i honestly dont know the proper way to pop up and stand from there, which vid do u demonstrate tht part of the move in?
@k3nd4lll Sorry... It's in our earlier guard break videos. Check out the white/blue belt series at our site. I think it's in there. Thanks for watching.
he wont. its a guard break move. you dont hit the groin you do pressure on the groin.... and in mma the mos effective but still dangerous way to break a guard is ground n pound...
wear proper equipment "PLEASE" nice.... i wish someone said that to me before....
this is my favorite guard break. jump up. and fall with the knee in between his ass and get my hip back with my arms on his abs. ive seen this dozens of times in my gym but never on youtube. Thanks!
nice vid. can u demonstrate surfer side control and diamond/combat guard. There used to be a vids on here but they took it down. I hope you know what i mean. I love what you guys do and i have confidence that you'd explain it well if you've seen it before.
Unfortunately- I've never heard of surfer side control or diamond/combat guard. Perhaps I know the positions but call them something different. Can you elaborate? Thanks for watching.
you guys are the best! thanks for concentrating on the basics. so many people post way to many videos on things that are way to fancy and complicated. BTW your also a great instructor

Thanks! Very well explained. I have been having problems doing this right because I left out the underhook. Do you have a good counter for this?

In MMA if there is too much contact will the ref sometimes call it a groin strike and stand you back up?

I haven't either, but It sounds like a knee ride on the stomach from side control. I'm probably wrong though.
