This remarkable phenomenon of the incorruption of certain saints’ bodies is the subject of this enthralling and well-documented study. The author, Joan Carroll Cruz, spent five years researching the lives of over 100 saints and beata in preparation for this book. "THE DOCTORS AND THE INCORRUPTIBLES" by Joan Carroll Cruz. One of the least known and most easily disbelieved religious facts is treated here in a scholarly and competent manner.
Catholics believe people in heaven are alive. (Mat 19:29, 25:46, Mat 10:17-22, Mk 10:30, Lk 10:25-30, Lk 18:18-30, Jn 3:15-16). We see Lazarus alive by Abraham's side (Lk 16:22). And at the transfiguration we see Moses and Elijah alive beside Jesus. (Mat 17:3)
Graves of the dead were opened and they went into town to preach the Gospel." (Mat 27:52). Jesus said "Now he is a God not of the dead, but of the living; for to him all of them are alive." (Lk 20:39-40)
Scripture says we were "all baptized into one body" (1 Corinthians 12:13). Christians are one body which is not divided by death or anything else (Rom 8:38-39). Christians in heaven are still members of that body of Christ? We are invited to honor the "heroes" of the faith (Heb 6:12, 11:1-40, Jas 5:10-11).
I guess this is somehow due to meditation and the way of life (little food, A LOT of prayer an meditation), so possibly that makes the body preserve itself somehow... because only christians who meditatie, so the catholics and orthodox ones, as well as buddhists, so these three have the same lifestyle as monks and nuns and meditation and little food, have incorrupt bodies!
The Holy Catholic Church is the True Church. Its origins can be traced to Jesus and his apostles. Many of the root beliefs of Protestants have their origins with the heretic Martin Luther.
@AjDeal825 A martyr is someone who gives up their life in the name of the faith. An example would be someone threatens to kill you because of your faith in Christ and His Church and you say you won't do it. You would be a martyr.

@InsanityJoe87 they probably let them stay as they are. theyll take hundreds of years to rot so let them be. If they had preservatives into their body then no one be sure if they were preserved hundreds of years from now instead of naturally unrotting.
The incorruptibles... I love it when God baffles scientists. Shows them how little they really know :)
I think it's worth noting that very small pieces of many of these bodies were given to scientists and they are completely stumped. No explanations to be offered.

I converted from Calvinizm to Catholicism because our Savior, Jesus Christ is with the Catholic Church. This is the truth and undeniable. If you are ouside the Catholic Chuch and denounce the Catholic faith, it is apparent that you just envy the Catholic Church. No matter how hard you try to criticize the Catholic Church, it will be the main stream of Christianity eternally as it has been since the very time of its foundation by the hand of Jesus Christ.
The sacred body of St. Francis Xavier is preserved in a silver casket and brought down for public veneration once in 10 years. see a clip above 'video response' or write back. next event will take place in 2014-15
The Catholic Church is the truth. Far out like seriously..since 33AD founded by Jesus and not by man.. Whatever question you have against the church can be answered. Even try praying the rosary, its pretty good..
the video itself almost made me cry. What a miracle! I've been having a hard time with my faith this year but the song is really touching me as well as the vid. What I wish would stop, though, are the negative comments. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful video. Thanks for sharing.
I am a catholic, and I also believe in evolutionary science.
I believe that evolutionary science can at best explain the mechanism for the creation of the earth and celestial bodies, but does not explain where the source for all of this comes from - I believe that source to be God, and Jesus to be his resurrected son.
Also, I would like at this point to reveal this simple pertinent fact which backs up evidence there is a god - one day on earth is not the same as one day on Pluto.
The reason these bodies of "Saints" are shown is to inspire, not to worship. These people were beyond the realm of being a reasonable Christian. They were Christ-like in there daily life to the point of a supernatural existence.
Thank you for the explanation. Are all saints' bodies incorrupt? And are all saints' bodies excavated out of their tombs and kept in glass display chests?
Is'nt Blessed Imelda lambertini the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. She was only 11 when she died in ecstasy recieving Holy Communion. She looks so peaceful... 676 years after her passing and not a blemish on her skin. And some say God has never given a sign of his existance. Heres all the proof I need.
This is not a sign of God's existence. It's a sign that the Catholic Church will do anything to try and prove it is the one true church. I don't need a corpse with wax poured over it to prove God exists. How he has worked in my life is the proof. Please don't allow the Catholic Church to deceive you with its 'miracles'.
Blessed Imelda Lambertini Died over 500 years ago at 11 years of age. No wax used there. She is perfectly preserved. I dont need to prove anything to you. I believe in God for my own reasons. Wax does not preserve bodies, Ask any scientist. This phenonoma has only happened to Catholics who are considered saints. Nowhere else in the World has a body been found in this state. By the way the wax may be added later to enhance. When a coffin is opened and a body is preserved there is no wax present.
Do your homework properly before you make these ludicrous claims. First of all contact any professional / Sciectist in this field and they will tell you that the preservation of these saints is a complete mystery. Totally unexplained. Do you own experiment. Put any dead animal i.e a pig into a box and bury it for a week. Then dig it up and tell me what you see and smell. I bet it wont be roses like what comes from the preserved saints. Live in denial all you want, its your loss not mine.
You call God a liar by your words. Everything happens for a reason. God controls everything, even bodies of dead saints. If it is not meant to happen then God would'nt allow it. Im not communicating with you any more after this because your little mind is closed. You believe in God then its hatred for Catholics that is now apparent. If you dont believe then stop looking at these miracles and simply go away. I dont want to hear from you again.
@STHFGDBY Yes there have been other instances of this phenomenon happening to other saints who are not christians, Paramahansa Yogananda for one, but there are also others. It is miraculous what ever their faith. There are many paths that lead to God, Christianity is not the only valid one. There is no need of dispute between the religions, or for any to claim they are the only way to salavation, there are many ways, and all should be respected. This phenomenon seems to attest to purity.
You are ignorant but it doesn't really matter because you are ignoring everything in the description of this video....if you wanted to believe 2+2=5 you would no matter what anyone else tells you
If Christ is true, and He offers salvation and healing and eternal life, then there is nothing better to "waste your time" with. If following Christ is a waste of time, then I will gladly waste the rest of eternity. You don't need to pretend - I know you're trolling - but the Sacred Heart of Jesus is speaking to your heart... and you DO need to listen.
I have life within me, for which I am grateful. More importantly, I have the promise of eternal life if I remain true to God and His Word. You can have the same if you place your trust in Jesus Christ. You and I can have life so much more abundantly - life to the fullest - if we live for Christ. Please join me, my friend. You have nothing to lose.
You fear the things beyond you! You are afraid of what lies ahead of you... Why can't you accept that God exist and that even creation, reason and faith can be the proof of His existence... I will pray for you... May you be enlightened... God bless you...
its different when bodies were preserved by the government,,this is a very expensive procedure not applied to the church.WITH SO MANY PRIEST AND NUNS DYING,,IT WOULD TAKE A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY TO PRESERVE THEIR BODIES ALTOGETHER AS THEY ALL EXPIRE.
Just in case: the fact that these people died and their corps didn't decompose does NOT prove the truth of anything. It proof that sometimes, in certain or rare conditions, it can happen. As simple as that. Why is it so hard to understand? - Another non-sequitur argument for the vault - There have been hundreds of cases were the people whose bodies survived the centuries were complete unknown, or regular good, not-so-good or evil men or women...
acc to the bible,,even if the dead rises from their graves,,nobody will turn to the LORD and believed HIS warnings!!..in the case of lazarus and the rich merchant who died and wished to send message of eternal damnation to his brothers left on earth thru lazarus..no action was taken.
yeah, and the fact that I can fly, transform into an angel, move objects by telekenesis and read thoughts is not proof that I have superpowers, maybe it's not yet discovered by science, oh come on the same argument by any atheist or non believer that has been shown proven miracles.....IT IS NOT YET DISCOVERED BY SCIENCE.....-_-
And when such a body is disinterred it rots almost instantly with a foul stench. This did not happen in these cases. St Charbel was not even buried in a casket but in a common grave. The others weren't incorrupt.
St Charbel (an Arab) died in 1898 and was still perfectly preserved in 1927 when examined by French doctors. They did not have the technology in 1898 to do a wax Lenin type job especially on an unknown Lebanese monk who came to fame for miracles after his death. Google him - amazing stuff.
Lenin (who looks like a statue) had the best science in the world at that time devoted to his preservation. Blessed Imelda Lambertini died in 1333! Who had the scientific knowledge then to presereve her? Come on!
embalming cannot give us that kind of preservation... actually, scientists have no explanations for this phenomena. Incorruptibility is a grace and not a product of man's work.
St. Cecilia was not embalmed but her body is still incorrupt... She was martyred in the time of the Persecutions.
Jesus & Mom Have No Sins. This's Satan's Corruptible World. Jesus said "It isn't His Kingdom." They came to rescue us as Dad wishes. When they fulfilled Their Job, They returned Home with Souls & Bodies: Nothing left on Earth. That reminds us: This isn't our Eternal Home. The Saints' incorruptible bodies witness Their immortal deeds Their souls & bodies did together. As Their souls went Home, They left Their Marks on Their bodies, so we can remind: Good Deeds Endure Forever! May It Be Ours Too!
this is a very beautiful presentation of the wonders of God at work in our Saints! please continue in doing this work that will be of great help to Catholics who seek the truth. God bless!
the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, cannot and will not lead us to nowhere... it is not adoration that Catholics give to the saints rather it is veneration... adoration is reserved only to God, to him alone.
it is in the Sacred Traditions, meaning it was practiced and handed down by the first Christians... try to consider how the first Christians honored the tombs of the Martyrs especially of St. Peter.
Beg your pardon, but how much more nonsensical is it to fight a war without heroes? The saints prove to us that it is possible to be who Christ calls us to be. They are not idols or demigods - they are so holy in their complete servitude to Christ and to others that they command our respect, as they put themselves last, and the last shall be first in the kingdom of heaven.
"the fool said to himself, 'there is no God above'"
If i were you, try to read books, God's existence can be explained even without using faith as the base, reason alone can tell a logical man that there is God. "Don't be like the horse and the mule, unintelligent, needing bridle and bit or else they won't obey you!" I tell you, pure atheism doesn't exist.
Some of the bodies have had a wax covering over them like St. Bernadette when the nuns washed her body they did not dry it properly and the skin turned a funny shade of gray so they put wax covering over her face and hands to keep the body better preserved but yes the bodiesare real. However an incorrupt body is NOT considered a miricule by the Catholic church and is not considered as a reason for declaring some one a saint.
those people who do not believe to the saints,oh! question it ,I ask you just one question, you can do the same way?like what they did? THEY LEAVE EVERYTHING,FAMILY,MONEY,ALL THE HAPPYNINGS....ALL THE THINGS THEY HAVE INTHER LIFE .BECAUSE OF GOD. now you just till me you can do the same way!?GOD BLESS YOU ALL..
There is no such thing is scripture as someone who is more righteous, it is a case of either you are or you are not. I agree as believers in Christ you have power to intercede for people in prayer. But St Paul made this point in Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God
Yes you can intercede for people remembering the focus on Jesus
Pope John Paul II - mysticaly slept in April 2005, just like Lazarus -, present Pope Benedict XVI, and "the Little Pebble" i.e. Pope Little Peter Abraham II.
Beautifully done. I feel for those who allow themselves to miss out on the intercession of Mary, who leads us to her Son, or the saints who pray directly to the Lord on our behalf.
Jesus is the bridge to God, Mary and the Saints lead us to the bridge.
The Catholic Church gives us the fullness of the Christian faith, anything less than that is just that- less. Don't deprive yourself of all the riches the Lord wants to give you.
I tell you the truth, ANYONE who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
So that means anyone can pray to Jesus. Why do we then need anyone else to intercede? Sorry, but you weren't listening when Jesus was speaking.
Then why do we pray for each other if you can just go straight to Jesus? Jesus himself required us to pray for others, and not only for those who asked us to do so (Matt. 5:44). James declares: "The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects (Jas. 5:16) Yet those Christians in heaven are more righteous, since they have been made perfect to stand in Gods presence (Heb. 12:22-23)
try to ask some Dominicans, I know she is the patron saint of first communicants... She died after receiving Jesus in the form of Bread... Holy Communion.
Praying to Saints or Mary is a pointless exercise because of 1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
Phillipians 2:9
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
When Jesus was asked how to pray he told the disciples the Lords prayer. No where in that does it mention Mary. Mary and the baby Jesus is an adaptation of the Babylonian Semiramis and baby Nimrod and that has nothing to do with the Gospel of Jesus. 1 timothy 2:5 says, For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Jesus in John 1 existed before Mary and before Adam. Mary has no role in the salvation of the human soul.
I think Jesus did it very well... if I follow him I must imitate how he love... he must have loved his mother so much while on earth... and now in heaven. God sent Jesus by the Holy Spirit to Mary... Ok God bless... Mama won't want me arguing... Bye!
Still that doesn't mean we should forget about marry, or according to your speech, about any of these great saints. And there is nothing wrong if one wanted to pray for marry or the saints IN ADDITION to jesus christ and god.
Sorry, but you are an idiot. You must be one of those new-christians group that have been up for the last decade or two, a group of retards, shall we say, or illusionists that spend all their time crying weeping or dancing and maybe even modifying the original scripture.
Yes Mary has an Honored position as it says in the Gospels. It does not elevate her to the position of Saviour or that of Jesus. The Saints should be honored for there service to God. And no I don't belong to a crackpot group that formed ten years. Don't say something here that you not be willing to say to my face. Everyone is a brave man behind there computer screen.
Ofcourse I wont say this to your face, because I'd like to avoid any chance of getting it physical, wouldn't you? but now I'm behind a "computer", I can say whatever I want and still not get physical. Its kindof, the power of privacy and anonymity. Its not a matter of how brave you are or not. at all.
I'm glad that you think that mary has an honored position as well as the saints. But your previous comment did show the opposite, which makes you qualified to my last "offending" reply.
Mary is blessed, the Angel of God said so in Luke 1:26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
Have you read already Mary's mediation? See even the Angel Gabriel gave a veneration! That is already a proof of God's permission that Mary can be venerated not because of any merit on her part but because of her essential role in Jesus' life and the life of all the faithful...
Chilling !

(Acts 2 : 27 ) Supports incorruption of Saint's' Bodies
25
For David says of him: 'I saw the Lord ever before me, with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.
26
Therefore my heart has been glad and my tongue has exulted; my flesh, too, will dwell in hope,
27
because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld, nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption.

I didn't know St. Clare of Asissi was incorrupt. Imagine the conversations she and St. Francis must have had! She looks beautiful.
St. Silvan, from the '300s, is absolutely remarkable, although I could not find him on any list of Saints. Anyone with info on him, please post.
Thank you for posting the video.

The Catholic Church is the truth. Far out like seriously..since 33AD founded by Jesus and not by man.. Whatever question you have against the church can be answered. Even try praying the rosary, its pretty good..

STHFGDBY 2 years ago 8
This is not a sign of God's existence. It's a sign that the Catholic Church will do anything to try and prove it is the one true church. I don't need a corpse with wax poured over it to prove God exists. How he has worked in my life is the proof. Please don't allow the Catholic Church to deceive you with its 'miracles'.
Kerny2 2 years ago

If Christ is true, and He offers salvation and healing and eternal life, then there is nothing better to "waste your time" with. its different when bodies were preserved by the government,,this is a very expensive procedure not applied to the church.WITH SO MANY PRIEST AND NUNS DYING,,IT WOULD TAKE A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY TO PRESERVE THEIR BODIES ALTOGETHER AS THEY ALL EXPIRE.
jirafee 2 years ago
Just in case: the fact that these people died and their corps didn't decompose does NOT prove the truth of anything. It proof that sometimes, in certain or rare conditions, it can happen. As simple as that. Why is it so hard to understand? - Another non-sequitur argument for the vault - There have been hundreds of cases were the people whose bodies survived the centuries were complete unknown, or regular good, not-so-good or evil men or women...

yeah, and the fact that I can fly, transform into an angel, move objects by telekenesis and read thoughts is not proof that I have superpowers, maybe it's not yet discovered by science, oh come on the same argument by any atheist or non believer that has been shown proven miracles.....IT IS NOT YET DISCOVERED BY SCIENCE.....-_-

Google him - amazing stuff.

embalming cannot give us that kind of preservation... actually, scientists have no explanations for this phenomena.

Yes! these are dead bodies but God is using them as vehicles of grace(healing, conversion and many more)

one wonders how much the catholic church will lower its self and allow its follwers to believe such nonsence...
adoration of dead saints was inforced by an early church father.. how is scriptural? its more like a man made tradition.. dont you think
loudmouthspeaker 2 years ago
well, ask your parish priest about it.
the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, cannot and will not lead us to nowhere... it is not adoration that Catholics give to the saints rather it is veneration... adoration is reserved only to God, to him alone.
it is in the Sacred Traditions, meaning it was practiced and handed down by the first Christians... try to consider how the first Christians honored the tombs of the Martyrs especially of St. Peter.
kranishbacc 2 years ago 2
Beg your pardon, but how much more nonsensical is it to fight a war without heroes? The saints prove to us that it is possible to be who Christ calls us to be. They are not idols or demigods - they are so holy in their complete servitude to Christ and to others that they command our respect, as they put themselves last, and the last shall be first in the kingdom of heaven.

If i were you, try to read books, God's existence can be explained even without using faith as the base, reason alone can tell a logical man that there is God. oxyman10 2 years ago

Yes you can intercede for people remembering the focus on Jesus
bluewolf20 2 years ago
Fact is stranger than fiction.
Now, there are three active Pope.
Pope John Paul II - mysticaly slept in April 2005, just like Lazarus -, present Pope Benedict XVI, and "the Little Pebble" i.e. Pope Little Peter Abraham II.
littlepebble2 2 years ago
Beautifully done. I feel for those who allow themselves to miss out on the intercession of Mary, who leads us to her Son, or the saints who pray directly to the Lord on our behalf.
Jesus is the bridge to God, Mary and the Saints lead us to the bridge.
The Catholic Church gives us the fullness of the Christian faith, anything less than that is just that- less. Don't deprive yourself of all the riches the Lord wants to give you.
mandevillecroix 2 years ago 5
Jesus said in John 14:12
I tell you the truth, ANYONE who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
So that means anyone can pray to Jesus. Why do we then need anyone else to intercede? Sorry, but you weren't listening when Jesus was speaking.
bluewolf20 2 years ago
Then why do we pray for each other if you can just go straight to Jesus? Jesus himself required us to pray for others, and not only for those who asked us to do so (Matt. 5:44). James declares: "The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects (Jas. 5:16) Yet those Christians in heaven are more righteous, since they have been made perfect to stand in Gods presence (Heb. 12:22-23)

Don't waste your time on Saints stick to Jesus
bluewolf20 2 years ago
try to consider the intercession Mary did at the wedding feast at Cana...
kranishbacc 2 years ago 2
When Jesus was asked how to pray he told the disciples the Lords prayer. No where in that does it mention Mary. Mary and the baby Jesus is an adaptation of the Babylonian Semiramis and baby Nimrod and that has nothing to do with the Gospel of Jesus. 1 timothy 2:5 says, For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Jesus in John 1 existed before Mary and before Adam. Mary has no role in the salvation of the human soul.
Forget the rest Jesus is the best
bluewolf20 2 years ago
Honor your Mother and Father... 4th commandment.
I think Jesus did it very well... if I follow him I must imitate how he love... he must have loved his mother so much while on earth... and now in heaven. God sent Jesus by the Holy Spirit to Mary... Ok God bless... Mama won't want me arguing... Bye!
kranishbacc 2 years ago 2
Jesus was a commandment-keeping Jew: "Honour thy father and thy mother".
If Jesus kept that commandment, then so should we, especially where His own mother is concerned.
SteveSpitz1981 2 years ago 2
Still that doesn't mean we should forget about marry, or according to your speech, about any of these great saints. And there is nothing wrong if one wanted to pray for marry or the saints IN ADDITION to jesus christ and god.
Sorry, but you are an idiot. You must be one of those new-christians group that have been up for the last decade or two, a group of retards, shall we say, or illusionists that spend all their time crying weeping or dancing and maybe even modifying the original scripture.
madmarv7 2 years ago
Yes Mary has an Honored position as it says in the Gospels. It does not elevate her to the position of Saviour or that of Jesus. The Saints should be honored for there service to God. And no I don't belong to a crackpot group that formed ten years. Don't say something here that you not be willing to say to my face. Everyone is a brave man behind there computer screen.
bluewolf20 2 years ago
Ofcourse I wont say this to your face, because I'd like to avoid any chance of getting it physical, wouldn't you? but now I'm behind a "computer", I can say whatever I want and still not get physical. Its kindof, the power of privacy and anonymity. Its not a matter of how brave you are or not. at all.
I'm glad that you think that mary has an honored position as well as the saints. But your previous comment did show the opposite, which makes you qualified to my last "offending" reply.
madmarv7 2 years ago 2
Mary is blessed, the Angel of God said so in Luke 1:26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
bluewolf20 2 years ago
Have you read already Mary's mediation? See even the Angel Gabriel gave a veneration! That is already a proof of God's permission that Mary can be venerated not because of any merit on her part but because of her essential role in Jesus' life and the life of all the faithful...
