Dale was kind of a jerk in this one, but Don's temper didn't really help his case either. The way I see it, neither party was really at fault here. Dale is the more fun loving of the two munks, and is not always as bright as Chip. He just wanted to try out Donald's toy. Donald was just being the usual short-tempered duck that makes him who he is.

What else I noticed that in the original version of this cartoon (ending with the "A Walt Disney Donald Duck") is that there are sound effects on the 3rd title card, but in this version only the background moves, but there is no sound.

It's cartoons like this that inspired Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers. All Dale ever thins about is fun whereas Chip is the straight man or in this case straight munk!!

I really enjoy this cartoon, but Dale is out of character. Instead of tagging along with his partner, Chip tries out the plane while Dale would much rather do work.

The situation is similar in Chicken in the Rough. I rather think that it's Chip who's unusually boring here. In most episodes involving Donald, both Chip and Dale will actively annoy him. Here Chip says "that belongs to him."... being tame and respectful of Donald's property isn't something we've seen often.
