@mrdallastexasguy214 im a poolee and if you enlist you will gain muscle in bootcamp. but once you enlist and become a poolee your recruiter should have pt or days where you workout and improve on your pull ups, crunches and runs. another good idea is to start dieting correctly and maybe get a gym membership if you dont have workout material you can access

last year my jritc class to a trip to paris island and they made usd to the repaling wall and the free full i was scared at first but i got over it. then they made do the opsical course and it was sorta eassy and hard. but am joining the navy

@xxtoe21xx Nope. You would have to wear glasses. They will issue you the glasses if you need them. They check your eye sight and everything when you get there. Teeth, and etc. It is very worth it in the end.

My brother is in the army, but he wants me to join the air force and coast guard. No disrespect to any branch of military, but marines have shortest deployment. Should I do it, or get a day job??? @EvanesEmperor From what I understand sir you will start over as an E-1 at our boot camp. As far as advancing faster than others you should talk to a recruiter about that.

I have a question. I have a friend of mine that got kicked out of boot camp. He went through a pyschological evaluation with a Navy Corpsman. The Corpsman asked him if he misses home and family and my friend ends up getting diagnosed with depression and gets sent home for fraud. My question is do all recruits go through a mental eval these days?

@The19paul68 I guess the DIs have suspecions about him being depressed and had to take a pyschological evaluation with a corpsman. I never could see him being depressed, he always wanted to enlist in the Marine Corps badly enough to follow in his family footsteps of being Marines. But he aswered yes to the questions by the corpsman found him to be depressed and had to place him on fraudulent enlistment for depression, which doesn't make sense.
