Others might have come very close technically to getting the essence of Hendrix riffs Hendrix's primary objective wasn't just to be a technical guitarist there are others that do that thing.
Hendrix was a master of the whole song creation process which is why he was in a league of his own. He composed strong hooks that had mega mojo.
The sound is way off the strat sound,, thats one thing,,, the worst is your note on 1:03,,, its should be a half note higher. Strange you cant hear this.
hey guy..first of all I think it's pretty cool to have one guy on youtube who doesn't exlain the classics of hendrix only....There's also so much to learn in these songs....all in all awesome vids!
p.s. can you also post how to do "uranus rock"? Would be awesome^^
What I wanted to ask...what did you mean by "flat it a bit more"?
Chappers ,you are without doubt a good player, but you have put lesson on the description of the video ???????????? this isn't a lesson , it's just you showing off.
you need lessons in giving lessons .
this isn't a dig , just a bit of constructive criticism.

hey mate ive been lookin to buy a new amp, and i tried that exact orange cab and head and i loved it! but its a bit out of my price range right now... i tried a tech 21 and liked it just as much! what do u think of the tech 21's?
the version of this song i have has the greatest note known to man in my opinion, i think its the live version. just after the start when the drums really kick in and there is the huge sustained bend with the Wah over the top, i nearly cream myself every time i hear that note... mmmmmmmmmmm
Ricky said you're like Hank Marvin, what an insult? I reckon he must be Cliff Richard's love child!!......So come on Rob......here's the challenge..Let's hear some Hank Marvin how it should be played, Make it Rock (If that's possible??)
How comes, that you have more views in 13 hours than I in 13 weeks? It's just not possible that you are a better guitar player:DD You must be cheating:D
cool ! thats a riff jimi and billy worked out back in the army days.. I've talked to billy on a few occasions ,he owns a pawn shop right outside of town. super nice person !
@nazizombiesforps3 yes the real deal,.. sadly the pawn shop closed up some time back ..don't know if he quit the business or moved,, but I sure appreciate getting to talk with him about the music and Hendrix. I have some autographs and photos with him also

I have a RV 50 also, should I get a Orange 2x12 or 4x12 ? I don't need the VOLUME of the 4x12. Have U ever hooked up to a 2x12 Orange with the RV50 ?

my friend has an rv 50 and an orange 2x12 in it and it's enough for me :)

thats a mighty fine fuzz tone you got there dude, how did you get it using just your amps dirty channel? i thought you didnt use pedals :-P xx
Tayler3372 2 years ago 5
Well spotted sir! In thsi video I use a Glab Vintage overdrive pedal :-)
RobChappers 2 years ago
ahh thats cool. awsome video btw man. hendrix rules the school.
Tayler3372 2 years ago 6
Jimi's tone was unreal on the album so I don't expect you to match it given the limitations of equipment here. Nicely done.

Hey Chappers
Do you use a fuzz pedal or there juste too much gain on the amp so it changes the distortion into fuzz?
