  • it's amazing how these donkies are lucky...

  • Well he tried to bluff and humberto goes all in was so little to call that he HAS to made the call people..

  • He'll just blow his winnings in a couple of years...donks like Moneymaker always end up broke in the end!

  • the worst call in poker history .. MONEYDONK ..

  • Oh my goodness, how can Money(-NOT-)maker call this instant-all-in bei Huumberto??? By ignoring ALL poker facts and number, shutting eyes and putting off his brain. Worst call in WSOP history!

  • @Schdan777 he committed himself with the bet.. it was about the same stack as humberto's chips. worst bluff perhaps.

  • @Schdan777 Easy call. Moneymaker is what 11 to 1 behind but there is so much in there he is +EV to call. We should play sometime.

  • fuck noobs that play like that. but they always win -.-'

  • I hate this specific hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • que mala suerte Shark!!!

  • donk call

  • 2nd place at the NBC Heads Up Championship. Congrats Moneymaker! Eat it, haters.

  • Moneymaker luckboxed his way into winning the main event. He hasn't done a thing since this lucky streak, but all those that use to make their living off of online poker have moneymaker to thank.

  • Just lost with my quads to a higher quad! This site has to be fixed!!!

  • ace ace against eight eight lol

  • the asshole celebrates his miracle ... What a piece of shit player... not much between him and Jamie Gold...

  • It's always nice when people make a wrong decision and win the hand and pretend that they outplayed the other player who was clearly dominating them

  • seems like moneymaker sucked out on a lot of people in this tournament

  • haha money maker

  • to be honest i dontwhy people celebrate sucking out! its not like they did anything good! its such a gay fist pump by moneymaker

  • @TheGAAman Is the emotion! human beings have emotions! dont u?

  • @kokai5 no not really! :) well usually if this happens im in shock and i try to be sympathetic! but then again never been in a ten thousand dollar buy in tourney!

  • @TheGAAman its better than saying "sorry"

  • demasiada suerte para ser profesional, esta suerte creo que mas bien es de un ODIOSO FISH

  • Really annoying to see people keep saying Moneymaker called. Listen to the announcers, people. Moneymaker bet Humberto's stack and Humberto called.

And i'd sure love to play with people who always assume their opponent has paired one of the overcards. You guys sure must fold alot! If you don't think Humberto or any other pro could have any two cards here, then you must not have watched or played much poker.

  • @larrymcg421 I agree. Wish I could get some of these guys in a cash game.

  • It's all about making the wrong move at the right time!!!

  • moneymaker looks like a scared little boy

  • It's just like the RNG of PokerStars dealt the cards ....

  • I'm shocked more people don't know about the referral code: FTUS600 that gets your 600$ for signing up with Full Tilt Poker

  • fate, he had to win this event, so porker boom happened!

  • Signing up with Full Tilt Poker with the referral code: FTUS600 get you 600$ free.

  • It's crazy how many people have gotten that 600$ sign up bonus at Full Tilt Poker just for using the referral code: FTUS600

  • Iv lost all respect for Moneymaker

  • omg his such a retard...nobody would ever call this shit and this lucky fucker even wins it ...ridiciolous

  • moneymaker is a moron..

  • jaja, por cantar victoria antes de tiempo.... mal augurio, XD

  • Norman Chad speaking normally instead of shouting like nowadays!!!!! What the hell changed???!!!

  • moneymaker is the biggest donk to win WSOP Main Event

  • money maker Won this main event by luck not skill. farha beat him heads up i mean CRUSHED HIM!!!

  • Ahhh..the 2003 WSOP a.k.a 'The Big Rig'.....PokerStars paid a lot of money for Moneymaker to win that tournament.

  • poor brenes

  • He´s a donkey.... donk reward the bracelet

  • funny to see all the donkeys say that he is a donkey :D

  • he made a pact with devil.. no doubt

  • lol

  • This is the kind of luck you need to win a tournament

  • OMG!

  • Moneymaker is a donk spaz

  • It's pretty standard to lose aces.. it sucks because it's the WSOP. but this isn't really rare. My aces gets beat every day by trash hands.

Good players always win in the longrun though. If you think poker is only a game of luck then your obviously a bad player.

  • the game has to much luck involved its sick

its just a gamble game in the end :s

  • stop whining you idiots, this happens all the time

  • horrible play from moneymaker.

  • so if u win the Main Event pokerstars calls u a pro anyway....ROFL..... Moneymaker is a JOKE!!!!

  • Se lo merecia por idiota

  • Don't care how lucky Moneymaker is as long as he felts tools like that shark-toy loco loudmouth Humberto.

  • wow moneymaker is horrible... reraising and calling an all in with 3rd pair to the board? wtf why can't i run that well?

  • He didn't call all-in.

Moneymaker asks for a count. The count is $120,000. Moneymaker raises $120,000. Brenes calls.

  • @larrymcg421 my bad i meant he basically reraised shove... they were heads up so him raising 120000 was him saying all-in. Thats what I meant. Still a terrible play.

  • 2003 was Moneymaker year, and his only year for the rest of his life...

  • @edchi82 of course what do u expected from that guy ? =)

he had one lucky run, just to become a fish at the highest stakes

  • Lucky fucker!! That shit happens me all the time in tourneys online...

So sick when people get rewarded for bad play!

  • @wesleyhoulihan GOTTA BE IN IT TO WIN IT SIR!

  • wow moneymaker is a lucky dog here. Bad play overall.!

  • EH, Chris Moneygiver is probably the reason a lot of the good ole boy donks came out of the wood work circa 03-04ish which is when online poker boomed, but he was/is not a very good player. And for the record, Gus Hansen is the reason I started playing, NOT Chris Moneygiver :)

  • Theres a reason monyemaker has done squat since the win.

  • what an idiot i mean the only explanation to make that call is cause he thought brenes was on a flush draw...

  • Moneymaker such an idiot, i hate him, good player but not enougth, i hate when he get lucky

  • OMG

  • donkey play by moneymaker unlucky brenes

  • @ayd1nmo exactly... he calls??? not thinking he could have an over pair, a set, .... not to mention with two overs on the board ??.. wtf??

  • poker

  • I agree with BT47, you fishies think he has so much luck to survive 7 days of 13 hours of poker? Get real...

  • Everyone hating on Moneymaker should just quit playing poker right now. I'll bet none of you jackasses would even know what Texas Hold'em was were it not for Moneymaker.

  • Agreed. He is a lucky donkey. Should not of won this event in 2003, he didn't deserve to.

  • moneymaker is very lucky

  • brenes is one of the worlds best tournament players

  • iwish that chris would have never won

  • then poker as we know it wouldn't be here.

  • chris is nothing for poker

poker was already here before him

  • lol..ok...just an everyday accountant winning the big one and it was the first year espn really covered it. That brought hope for the small guy.....if a pro wins...it never would of taken off.

  • yah thats right

but its not because he won that one...that he is amazing.look at jamie gold he won the biggest one and no one cares about him today,if u win something big you should stay big, look at hachem, this year he is on the 100 fisrt in the main event

  • lol...ok..I guess you don't see the earnings he makes online...and jamie gold himself said he is not a full time poker player.

  • and he celebrates..... donk

  • wooow if he loses no bracelet wow

  • Not really, he had Brenes well covered at this point. Even if he lost, he would've been okay.

  • @larrymcg421

I answered on the other vide, but another thing, i would be agree with you if Moneymaker was going all in and Humberto calling, but he called Humberto's all in.

  • Listen to the video again. Moneymaker asks for a chip count. The amount is $120,000.

Several seconds later, Moneymaker raises $120,000.

Why is this so hard for so many people to grasp. What in this video makes people think Moneymaker called all-in?

  • Thats because he did call all in. He raised, Humberto re-raised all in. Then Chris called Humberto's all in.

  • at 0:54, Norm Chad says Brenes chip count is $120,000

at 1:11, Lon says thay Moneymaker raised $120,000

Moneymaker raised the remaining chips Humberto had. Once Humberto goes all-in, there is nothing left for Moneymaker to call.

  • I just realized that Chris is a big Donkey, and he won the tournament by PURE LUCK, zero skill

  • DONK

  • The only thing I admire about Moneymaker is the fact that he realized that he made the wrong decisions several times in the WSOP he won, and has done nothing but get better since then. He wasn't close to being the best player in the field, but ended up being the winner, which isn't the first time that has happened in a poker tournament. As for this hand, TERRIBLE play by Moneymaker. What hands could he be beating right now? Only a bluff from my count, b/c Humberto isn't some amateur.

  • QQ, JJ, TT are all likely here.

  • Humberto would fold any of those three hands, since Moneymaker has him covered.

  • A King is much more likely than any of those 3, just on mathematics alone. A bluff just to get those 3 cards out is just not worth it.

  • Apparently he thought he had figured out a tell...and thought humberto was bluffing. Thats what he says in his book. He acted the same way against scotty nguyen with a nothing hand

  • SUCKOUT!

  • This was clearly the hand that made Humberto crazy.

  • And this hand was the only suckout Moneymaker had in 2003. As for hand against Ivey, it was IVEY who sucked out by calling Moneymaker's continuation bet with pair of 9s when there's still Lester left to act and Ivey wasn't even getting right implied odds to hit his set on the turn. Moneymaker had Ivey covered 3:1 and there's no way Moneymaker can fold on the turn when Ivey's reraise was so small. Even if Moneymaker lost to Ivey, Moneymaker would still be a chip leader or 2nd place.

  • I agree with you that it shouldnt be called a suckout, but there was nothing wrong with Ivey's call on the flop.

  • Ivey didn't put Moneymaker on Queen because Moneymaker could be betting out of his ass since he's a chip leader and can just be betting to bully people around. But he completely forgot about Lester who's still left to act. If Lester called, it makes sense. But Ivey shoudln't have called, especially on late stage of tournament where bubble play is in effect. Although I know this is completely hindsight bias, People can't blame Moneymaker. Trip Queens, High kicker, no straight/flush possibilities.

  • Ya dude, I think Moneymaker played the hand pretty much perfect. But you really think Ivey would have been happy with 8th or 9th place? pros generally play a lot more aggressive against amateurs, especially in bubble play. Dont get me wrong though, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Moneymaker, watch him on stars all the time.

  • I'm just following Sklansky's concept of "beware of players behind yet to act". I've ran into hands where I got squeezed and my call becomes dead money. If Ivey folded, Lester would've probably called and Ivey doesn't have to deal with the pot. People shouldn't blame Moneymaker because Ivey was short-stacked and Moneymaker had a strong hand himself, on top of that, Ivey is known for having any two cards. Moneymaker's moves against Ivey was standard and deck just favored Moneymaker. That's all.

  • If he lost to brenes here, he'd still have an above average stack.

  • Correction - This was the only TELEVISED hand that he sucked out on in 2003. In his own words he didn't really pay attention to "stuff like position" back then. The stars just aligned perfectly for him and the poker world that year, although his call of Dutch Boyd's all-in bluff after the flop with just a pair of threes was impressive.

  • What's really impressive about Moneymaker where majority of people haven't watched was his call against Dutch Boyd. He called with pocket 3s and put his whole tournament life at stake against Boyd's KQ high and before Boyd even turned over his cards, Moneymaker shouts out "low cards". Let's not forget how he folded his top pair against Farha's set while "established pros" like Vahedi can't let go of his hand and bluffs like an idiot with gutshot straight draw on paired board against Farha's boat

  • At first, I saw two videos of Moneymaker's suckout against Ivey and Brenes and was ignorant about Moneymaker. But after watching the whole WSOP 2003, Moneymaker ain't bad. Yes, Moneymaker had misread and sucked out against Brenes but Moneymaker had Brenes covered 3:1 and attempted to make that move, which put lot of pressure on Brenes. As for hand against Ivey, it was IVEY who sucked out by hitting his turn card and there's no way Moneymaker can put Ivey on 99 while Ivey's shortstacked.

  • DONK.... you can say it 100000 times no one gives a damn bout it ....ppl only say it coz they are mad they got beaten by someones bad call..runner or all in with random hands (position) ... the only thing we can say is shyt happens and Thats poker folks! or quit

  • moneymaker what a donk

  • I would add that since 2003 Moneymaker has not won a single tournament of any significanse he has made the money at WTP 2 times + one final table and has had 3 more money finishes at WSOP, not exactly setting the world on fire , all of which adds to the theory that he had better then average run of luck at the 2003 main event

  • He also had two final table appearances in the 08 WCOOP.

Look, no one is saying he is a legend, but he isn't the donk people make him out to be either. He got very lucky to win the WSOP, but so has everyone in winning it. If it didn't take amazing luck to win the Main Event, the Phil Ivey would have won it the last 6 years.

  • SOO Sick puts him all in after he raises and with pocket 8s after theres a flush draw, straight draw, and 2 over cards on the flop that was fuckin ridiculous

  • I think people are too hard on moneymaker he really only sucked out twice, he beat chan fair and square and you gotta think Ivey was lucky to get that nine on the turn moneymaker just returned the favour on the river

  • but he's done NOTHING since then? it was a lot of luck.

  • yeah sure but, he made a stunningly bad call there, poket 8s calling a huge re re-raise with a 9 K on the board , I think he just gave up and was ready to go home , I mean any poket pair higher than 8 or K9 would have had him behind , that was terrible play

  • People keep saying he called, but he didn't. He put Brenes all in.

No way Brenes has K9 here. He either has QQ, JJ, or AA. If Brenes has the first two hands, he would have to fold to the all in bet, because he's covered.

And it's silly to say he wanted to go home. Even if he lost this hand, he still had a healthy stack.

  • Sorry Larrymcg, but we must be watching different videos, Brenes reraises all in and Moneymaker "calls" Brenes could have had an over pair as he did , or any KQ, KJ , AK which on that board would have put him behind , Moneymaker did "not" put Brenes all in , Brenes himself reraised all in... In anycase if you think that was good play I'd love for you to join my home game ...let me know if your interested.

  • Watch the video again.

Moneymaker asks for a count of Brenes chips. The reply is that he has $120,000. Moneymaker raises Brenes $120,000.

If you can't do simple arithmetic, then I'd love for you to play at MY home game.

  • I stand corrected larrycg421, my observation about it being an incredibly bad move still stands though, as does my invitation for you to join us at our home game, or perhaps it was a brillant move which you can see pre turn card , if you care to explain it to me I'm open to be corrected once more ...

  • I never said it was a brilliant move. He made a play and ran into Aces. It happens. He can't know that Brenes has Aces. Since he has Brenes covered, the play works often against Brenes likely range, which includes TT, JJ, or QQ.

Furthermore, this is one of only two hands where he got a lucky card to win. If you watch the 2003 WSOP, which is on DVD, you'll see that this hand and the Ivey one are his only suckouts. Nobody has won the WSOP without getting at least a few suckouts like that.

  • he got lots of talent playing bingo,NOT POKER

Amazing that someone like that won.

  • He really didnt deserve to win that tournament..he made so many bad decisions and always got a lucky river or turn to suckout..

  • Always = Twice? That's right. There are only two hands in the whole tourney this happened on. The one against Ivey and the one against Brenes.

This whole idea of him winning all these suckouts is an urban legend. Seriously, rent the WSOP DVD and watch the whole tourney. You can see him starting in episode 3.

  • the one against Ivey wasn't really a bad decision, ANYONE would have called with trip queens.

  • Thats the only way Moneymaker could win anything is if he sucks out

  • Get your rakebackdeals at RAKEBACKVILLAGE,COM and make more money playing poker.

  • the same thing happend to me in tourny lol but he made trips on the flop :( i hate pocket aces

  • yeah i saw that. you were on a 1 dollar sit and go table.

  • Just because you can calculate odds, doesn't take the luck out of the game.

This game's about luck and balls.

You must have both to win.

  • Moneymaker and Gold, the two worst players to ever win the WSOP main event. They both pull donk moves with alarming regularity. Neither of those two would have won it in the old days...

  • gd call and crazy lucky shris!!

  • how was that a stupid call?? he had a 92% chance to win this one, so on the long run he would have won with pocket Aces

Of course after the action is seen the call is stupid, lots of people would love to say ''well, that was a stupid call, give me my money back", but can you do that !!? think people think

PS: don't say he could think about pocket Kings..

  • Lots of people, who apparently cannot perform simple arithmetic or read the video description, think Moneymaker is the one who called here.

  • Exactly!

  • Humberto got pwnd!

    Hahahahahahahaha.

  • what a stupid call

  • what a donkey call.

  • That's what Humberto Brenez gets for being an irritating cunt.

  • 40 $ got him these lucky cards

  • 2 pairs of glasses, LOL

That suck out was wrong though.

  • I hate Brenes.... always screaming and goofing around ..... if i was on the same table i will punch his face

  • you punch him....you die

  • so what if moneymaker isnt the second coming of stu ungar?..does it realy matter?..no. The guy was good for pokers popularity and alot of people have benefited from that.

Leave the guy alone...not everyone who wins a poker tournament is going to be great...or blow it on coke

  • or blow it on coke.....BURN LOL

  • moneymaker is the king of Donks!

  • no..I think he was dethroned by jamie gold

  • dethroned? wtf he won that in 2003 that was 6 years ago newb

  • no...that belongs to jamie gold

  • wut a lucky donk

  • Its so funny, you think Humberto is the greatest poker player today? wow! just wow! how many championships has he won? look at helmuth, 11 bracelets. Look at antonious, Huge net worth, gus hansen, Daniel Negraneu, Durrrr(Dwan) Humberto doesnt even come close to these guys! just cause he has/had a mustache!! ARGG!!!!Mustaches dont win championships! (except for burt reynolds)!

  • Moneymaker is shit? HA! You try winning your way into the wsop via online site, then winning the whole thing including beating the top pros in the game! Then you can say something bad about him. What have you done that is even remotely close to what hes accomplished? Nothing in comparisan! Quit knocking the amateurs just cause they are new to the game, or what not. Thats why a newcomer has won for the past 7 years now! hmmmm....Eat your own words you fucking prick!

  • moneymaker sucks balls....he sucked out the whole time to win...this terrible play and against Ivey made his game, he hasn't and won't win anything again

  • Two times = the whole time?

  • the guy hit a two outter here, his suckout against ivey was sick too....ivey was set to win the WSOP if that hadn't happened....2 times??? that's just what I remember and showed they showed on tv, he and Gus Hansen are the only two "pros" that I see get lucky on a consistent basis, calling from behind and somehow winning...moneymaker isn't good

  • chris moneymaker is SHIT, humberto brenes would have won the whole thing if it wasnt for FAT STONES getting lucky, BRENES is the best player in the world today by far, i love him and his shark!

  • Brenes is good, but not nearly the best. Moneymaker is awful and gets luckier than shit. Skill alone, Moneymaker woulda been gone on day one.
