Thanks for posting this. I've been trying to make my own metal music (covers so far) using Cakewalk Studio Bass, dkh, and FLSlayer through Guitar Rig, and I've been looking for a more realistic guitar plugin, as Guitar Rig makes the guitar sound more realistic but it still sounds very sloppy and too loud. I just downloaded Tubebaby, and I will do a Torrent search for Realstrat (as I am too poor to pay for any downloads lol).

@HentaiNek0 make sure the .dll file (which is the actual VST plugin) of these amps is in the FL VST folder or go to options > File Settings> Click on a Folder and put the folder(s) where the VST plugins can be located. Then, right click one of the instruments in the Step Sequencer > Insert>...More > Click the "Refresh" (Fast Scan) and it should locate them

@Subject134127 hmm thats a very good question. Realstrat itself isnt great with chords that could be the initial reason why only a solo works well . So basically if you want good chords i might suggest looking for a base instrument that initially makes a good chord sound, even if it isnt electric guitar, such as realguitar 2, which is acoustic but plays chords well (its acoustic with the amps it sounds electric). Also keep an eye on vst called electi6ity, it might just be better for that.

@Combattant123 You don't add the .bnks into FLStudio itself, but the Guitar Rig program. Open up your Mixer and add the Guitar Rig vst program like you would any other vst (there are plenty of tutorials if you don't know how) and you can use it.

@Subject134127 Looks like FLStudio 8, but it really doesn't matter. Those synths you see are external plugins. All 3 of the ones used are in the video's description. 2 of the 3 are NOT free, and are actually quite expensive.

@tweekin001 yes and im learning the piano.. one instrument is enough and i dont think i can be as good as Satch in a short amount of time, the time i need to produce beats and such. If your starting out young, and you want to learn an instrument, then by all means learn guitar - i encourage it. This is aimed more or less at beat makers, who may need a 'quick fix guitar sound' for their song and are more interested in making beats then learning instruments :)

@AJTsymphonys my advice is, don't use it: you can't make it play chords and over time everything will sound the same and just like any other song using slayer. Also they're all rythm guitar-ish, you cant get a good high lead guitar sound out of them.

@mackedeli you need like a line in of some kind yeah, might be a guitar to usb type thing, soz i cant be much help as i use a midi keyboard and not a guitar. I know it can be done, as that is the main purpose of guitar rig. Google is probs your best answer on that. :)

@mackedeli get an adaptor for your guitar jack- a small to big end will fit in your guitars jack, andyou can plug a thin two ended wire (thin like the ones used on headphones). or you can get a big to small adaptor and put it at one end of your guitar cable. then just plug it into your computers mic input.

@mackedeli If you have a guitar and want to record it on your PC, really this tutorial isn't for you. All you need are whatever amp plugins you want (Tubebaby is nice and free) and get a 1/4'' (the size of the end of your regular guitar-amp cable) to 1/8'' (headphone size) adapter and plug it on the end of your cable. Just plug that into the mic in end of your PC and you're good to go.

Sorry if that sounds unclear, I'm better with showing things rather than saying them.

@skywilliam have you got realstrat in your instrument channel and the amps in your plugins? Have you got you realstrat set to the right effects channel? There should be a little box in the upper right corner of the realstrat plugin "channel settings" that has FX underneath it. make sure this number corresponds with the effects channel you are using.

@eire1313 no you dont need an instrument.. u put the realstat into ur vst folder or into your fl studio plugins folder, then when u load up fl you go to add channel, more, quick scan and it should pop up. if u neeed more help just search there is plenty of tuts on how to add plugins to fl studio :)

@ShadowBoxingNinja im not really aware of anything that is free like guitar rig.. i think there is something called amplitube or something. As for the "pattern", all you have to do is open the piano role and put in the notes you want :)

u should enable it... if its an effect plugin u should press F9 then the mixer will show up find the go to the panel where u select and insert 8 effects click at one of the arrows then select then more... after that u look for the plugin that u want to install if u didnt find it click on refresh. sorry for confusing u im a bad teacher :x

If i had a real guitar it would defeat the purpose of this tutorial, and i would simply use guitar rig 3 with the guitar. the reason i made this is because iv been looking for a realistic sounding solo/lead for so long but i don't actually have a guitar to plug in ;p

@sonofhendrix if you have created a song or something in a program such as guitar pro 5, simply export the midi and then import that midi into fl studio. Find the instrument channel for the guitar in fl studio and follow the tutorial. Simply click: replace; realstrat and go from there :)

something like that. but more specifically, you need to export the midi file. Then you can import them and fl is usually good at seperating the instrument channels where.. yeah you can put basically whatevver instrument you want on it. At least im farely sure of this, but i use my midi keyboard and fl to write the music and i havnt used guitar pro in a while.

is there a file;export;midi option? if not then when saving click the little down arrow that show the list of file types... you could try putting in .midi too. If not i definetly know that you can use 'power tab editor' and export midi's in that.

why use filter before put the amp sim ? well the original realstrat sound is good for clean guitar but not for distortion guitar, that's just why if you wanna a metal tone, you put directly amp sim you got real crap sound...

escuse me but for good result with many preset from tour amp sim, what you got is good because you retouch your realstratt original sound, realy it's a better way i think to do it,

this is to use filter before use guitar rig or amplitude, when fruity free filter for exemple, use band pass or low pass, and check the frequencies you need a very low one, you put a amp sim check the preset, it's amazing, you need some reverb , echo or delay after that if you wanna to polish a little more the sound

I cannot host tubeBaby and neither GuitarRig in Sonar 7. :(( They don't appear among the soft synths, neither among VSTis or DXis. Only the RealStrat. I already tried everything but nothing happened. Can you help about it?

Okay, I downloaded and installed the files.

Though, neither of them is connected to FL Studio. Do you know how to place all of the files correctly?

After installing them, go into where you installed them and copy the .dll file (e.g - guitarrig.dll) and then go to \image-line\fl studio\plugins\vst and paste it there. After doing this, when you are in fl studio, click on the effects mixer and where you choose the effect select 'more'. It should then be there. Repeat this for tubebaby and for realstrat although realstrat is an INSTRUMENT not an effect. That means just click on an instrument slot and go to replace, ""more" etc.

tubebaby is a free download you just have to google it. I do not know what guitar rig 4 has as i am using version 3. You could try version 3 and i'm sure that will work for you. Other than that they sounds should be in guitar rig.
