@Sn1P3SX Alas, you can't do it in display recorder. But what you can do is set the video format for the screen recording to H.264 in the settings of your iOS device under Display Recording. Then, after you screen record, go in Display Recording and save it in the photos app. From there, you can import it into another app, like iMovie, where you can add narration or music from iTunes. Otherwise, transfer to a computer and add music or sound there.

@GamerFlux don't know. Can't test it myself now as I am running the IOS 5 Beta on my iPhone so it is not jailbroken and does not have display recorder on it. As soon as people figure out how to jailbreak the iOS 5 I will have display recorder back on. Try tweeting the developer, Rynan Petrich. He is very responsive usually.

@MacsFuture I tweeted him and he replied to say that the H.264 (experimental) format does not currently support orientation! So I switched, now all my videos are like 2kb and unplayable :(

When ever I record in MJPEG/AVI video format the display recorder records video but it cant be played in a video player program. Now the strange thing is when i choose H.264/MOV format the display recorder cannot record and i get an error code 0, but i am able to watch the video in the video player program although its only a 1 second video of black, any fix for this (error code 0) and how to upload my videos to my computer cause i usually cant find them in the display recorder app itself, Reply

If you recorded in H.264 the DR app should give you the option to save the recording to the camera/photo app. From there you can email the recording. Alternatively, DR gives you the option to transfer recording to a computer either through a wifi link on your computer's browser or through iTunes when docked to a computer.

@MegaAwsome97 Sorry, I can't help right now as I installed the IOS 5 beta on my iPhone so its not jail broken anymore. So I don't have Display Recorder on to try to figure out what happen. As soon as my phone is jailbroken and I have Display Recorder back on I will try to answer your question.

If i record while staying on Display Recorder app windows and finish, i can see the file, but when i go out and come back, it's gone... In fact, i NEVER see any file while browsing the device folder! Shit..

Make sure you ended the recording. If you mean you can't watch the video, make sure in settings you chose the h.264 format to record. Other than that, you can erase and reinstall or email or tweet Ryan Petrich the developer. He is usually pretty good at getting back to customers. His contact is within the Cydia store when you choose the app. good luck.

Yes, you can preview if you record in h.264 experimental mode. In the Display Recorder app when you pick the menu to upload to Youtube, it gives you the option to play the video instead. It only does this if you set the setting to record in h.264. It will not do this if it is set ti AVI recording.

@MacsFuture You are providing wrong information. You have to plug in headphones to get audio. You also need to enable web server.... then you will see an ip. Now go on your computer and type in the ip you see and you will be able to see all of your recordings... Now right click the one u want and press save link

@iTalkiStuff At about 2 minutes of the video I show that you can see the recording and have live view through the web browser. The headphones do nothing for getting audio on Display Recorder as Display Recorder does not record sound.

If it records in AVI format, it might be possible to view the recorded vids on the iPhone with YXFlash, another Cyfia app that allows playback of mpeg, AVI and Flash video. I'll have to give it a try.

@TargetRender I really wish that the developer, Ryan Petrich, would allow the videos to be played on the iPhone and be able to be edited on the iPhone or IPad. As it stands now, you have to offload the video or send it directly to YouTube with no edits. As there is no sound, it kind of sucks sending it straight to YouTube. At the very least it would be nice to add a narration track while recording.

@HardcoreMontages What version of the iOS are you using and what version of the iPod Touch are you using? Display Recorder may not have been upgraded to the lasted iOS version. Also, if you have an earlier model of the iPod Touch, it might not have enough processor power to do the recording while running the iPod touch. It works well on my IPhone 4, but I haven't upgraded to latest iOS 4.2.2 build.

LeoGunPro, very strange. I am not having that problem. I am running it on 4.0.1 on the IPhone 4. Maybe you need to run it on latest version of the ios.

Yea, I agree that the live view is like a vnc, but only on a wifi network. But I am not complaining cause it is a pretty cool feature and the screen record is what I care about the most.
