Paramedics are a 1000% disposable in British Columbia. I enjoy my work, but recommend it to no one - the working conditions are laughable; six years to obtain very basic benefits, advancement by seniority only, 80% of staff are casual, (part time), on call out shifts. Like I said I love the job, but not the conditions. My advice for those interested in EMS is work in another province, or a be a nurse.
