Am I the only one that realizes that it is a fake band in the back ground (It is not Brian Setzers band) This fake band is not playing live, however Brian Setzer is. He is playing along with a recording . Why they do things like this I do not know.
I agree with midrangesupport...it almost looked like a last minute thing thought up in rehearsals..."Say Brad, how about joining in with Brian on these two tunes?" Brad's solo openings kind of overlapped with Brian's. Paisley is a solid guitarist, and capable of more than he showed here, but didn't seem to have a defined role in either song he played with Setzer that night (and no singing either). BS was great, as usual.
Paisley did seem a little out of his element. Doesn't look pissed to me, just like he's having to concentrate to keep up. I'm not a country (at least modern country guy) but I gotta' say, when Paisley takes a solo I was really impressed, he's got at least a little bit a' Rockabilly in his soul. Setzer of course, is god.
Brad wasn't pissed at Brian, he was uncomfortable up there. I don't think Brad was extremely familiar with the songs and where he would fit in. Brian was extremely comfortable as it's his band, his arrangements. I think they had Brad up there to add some "Country" cred to this act for the CMA...he wasn't necessary IMHO.

It always like this....Almost nobody can play or keep up with Setzer. It's not their fault. They do the best they can.

If brad was going 80 Brian just passed him at 120 on the freeway.
I really like them both but Seltzer stole the show. Awesome!
