This religious guy acts like a sewer rat from an oil change factory. He has no authority in ethics since he sounds like an illiterate narrow minded person, he should put his words where his mouth is...
That guy's great great grandfather was owned by a white christian slave owner who imposed his religion on the slaves. Look at him now, serving the white man.
@BrutalValor Not at all. That 20% is Atheists, Agnostics and No "affiliation". If you separated all the different forms of christianity then their percentage would drop a lot lower. They put Protestant and Catholics in the same number, they are much more different than Atheists and Agnostics and "No affiliation"s.
@BrutalValor It hasn't, it's been 20% for that time. The whole reason it's growing so fast is because people who were otherwise afraid to come out about their beliefs feel more comfortable now. In the past 40 years, Protestant christians in america have gone down 30%! :D Christianity, or rather religion in general is going out.
'Christians get their morals from the bible". Haha. The bible is full of instructions of how to kill people for trivial reasons like gathering wood on sabath. What the fuck kind if morals are the christians getting?
CONT: They specified that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." T in its day-- giving equal citizenship to believers and non-believers alike. They wanted to make sure that no religion could make the claim of being the official, national religion, such as England had.
If the U.S. was founded on the Christianity, the Constitution would clearly say so--but it does not. Nowhere does the Constitution say: "The United States is a Christian Nation", or anything even close to that. In fact, the words "Christianity, Jesus Christ, Bible, Creator, Divine, and God" are never mentioned in the Constitution-- not even once. Nowhere in the Constitution is religion mentioned, except in exclusionary terms. When the Founders wrote the nation's Constitution...
@KingKushy56 Which is instilled by society, which was taught to you by your parents, which was taught to them by their parents, if they weren't religion it was taught by someone who was religious. There's no easy way out of this "Mr.Kushy."
@DistortedV12 Actually morality stems from empathy,I am a very empathetic person.
And while I agree things cannot be explained so easily,I refuse to accept anything involving faith or religion as an acceptable answer. There is never an easy way out and that is perfectly fine by me "Mr.Distorted"
I'm an atheist, but I have many theist friends (ranging from deists to Pentecostals) and that this moron, depressing, sack-of-shit reverend can be taken on television to represent any group of people, aside from ignorant bigots, let alone 'religious' people (which is such a broad and category so as to be meaningless) and their viewpoints is disgusting. He's not only an embarrassment to the aforementioned people, but human beings in general.
The best part isn't the fact that the reverend (much like all religious types) can't stand to listen to another opinion, and has to constantly interrupt, but that he has the nerve to ask where atheists get their morals and ethics from; saying Christians get theirs from the bible and their god.
Sorry bud, but I don't need a book to tell me that it's wrong to rape and kill.
I'm an atheist and I know right from wrong. I actually consider myself smarter than most religious people. Why? Well, I don't base my ethics and life style of a book written thousands of years ago. A book that tells me how "real" God is the same way the book of unicorns and leprechauns tells me unicorns and leprechauns are real.
@mikkelmode I'm an Atheist also and I consider myself to be smarter than you based on what I am replying to (a valid reason)... what are you basing you're opinion on? (no, you didn't make it clear) A belief has nothing to do with intelligence (you'd know that if you were intelligent)... if S. Hawkins announced that he still believes in Santa would you consider him to be of any less intelligence? You're an idiot and what you typed was idiotic.
@Kayode88 You need to calm the fuck down. As a person with free will, not attached to any kind of lifestyle and a believer of facts, yeah, I would consider myself a smarter person than most religious believers. I'm not gullible and not easy to persuade into things that makes no sense to me at all. I see the world and people as it is and that makes me smarter in a way. If someone came up to me and said "God is watching you", I'd say "What an idiot"! But that doesn't give me a higher IQ.
@maxsound80 I'd say Christmas is better being an Atheist because we get all the presents without having to pray and go to church... best of both worlds. Next up, taking a shit that looks like you ;-)
america wasnt built with religion in mind, the 'founding fathers' specifically mentioned the fact that religion is a joke. george washington hated religion ahhaa.
christians are the majority - thats right..... that explains it all... christians please think about how much you've been brainwashed.... black people: do you really think you were christians before you were stolen by white men? wtf come on and white people! you all going to hell if you believe in this religious shit its just ridiculous. Heaven pfffft fuck off
Wow. I was incredibly pleased when that woman brought up that our nation has a secular government. Somebody in the fucking news actually fucking gets it, and that's awesome.
Using the threat of damnation to enforce personal morality, is flawed. Morality based on doing what is correct for the situation at hand, is far stronger.
Why do you need to be forced to do the correct thing?
I find it more immoral to to something correct at gun-point. In that instance, you are no longer moral... only forced.
The 'reverend' is a perfect example of American Taliban. If he had his way, then there would only be Christianity...his brand...and no other religions. All other thought about god would be banned. I wish the host would have shut the stupid asshole up when he kept talking over the women.
when people going to wake up and see that Jesse Lee-"BOY" Petersen is not a A real Black man, and that that is really an European=White man wearing makeup. i mean you people don't know about all the advance makeup techniques of today....
@SomeGuyCalledJames Yea, very sad... but true. It never was meant to be a Christian nation, America was suppose to be the next Atlantis. A nation of free thought. Our founding fathers came here to escape from religious persecution. If they were alive today and seen what this country has become they would throw up.
@SomeGuyCalledJames ...but it shouldn't prioritize white and/or christian citizens over minorities. The Constitution gives people freedom for and from religion by keeping government and society neutral. If that's so, they should get rid of 'in God we trust' and 'under God' from the pledge of allegiance to remain as such, and to not prioritize monotheism over polytheism or atheism.
"we get our morals from god, where do you get yours from?"
lol, this is so hilariously stupid and ignorant. I can't believe someone would think they are actually morally superior because they are obeying what an imaginary character is telling them to do in an ancient book, rather than actually thinking for themselves and deciding through common sense and rationale what is right and what is wrong. I cannot believe how stupid some adults can be.
@boecxyec Christianity does not promote slavery or racism. You need to remember that the law of the old testament has been nullified when Christ fulfilled the law. Now the book of Galatians says " there is neither greek, nor jew nor gentile in christ, but all are one.
@jabe55 Funny that you should mention it.. In NT, these slaves were told to serve their masters as if they were serving Christ, with morals, faithfulness, and respectfullness (Ephesians 6:5-8 KJV). Likewise, slaves were told by Paul in his first Corinthian to follow suit and in fact were admonished to obey their masters "as to the Lord, and not to men" that is of course unless they were to somehow to buy out of their freedom (oh great, isn't that generous). Soo back to square one..
@boecxyec Like i said, the bible does not promote slavery, it does mention slavery because in that time the Romans had slaves so the message was directed to them in that fashion. It also tells slaves to obey their masters but that doesn't mean you should say it's pro-slavery, because it's not. That letter was written to those people who had slaves so you need to read the bible in the whole context, not just one text. Remember, God commanded moses to free Israel from the slavery in Egypt.
@jabe55 Yeah because he had special plans for the israelites (btw the story of the exodus is considered false by most archaeoligists as there is no evidence of moses running around the desert let alon a exodus of poeple from egypt also there is archaeoligical evidence for the indigenous nature of Israel suggesting they were there all along.) why does the bible tell Jesus or whoever to free the slaves in Roman era Palestine? Nooo jus obey sounds like slave supporting to me?
@lololololol47 Show me the article which disputes the bible's account of Exodus? Give me a link. Moses wasn't running around, he was relocating the people of Israel after he freed them from Egypt. You need to keep in mind that Jesus did not come to overthrow the Roman empire he came to fulfill the law and die for the sins of man. Jesus never advocated violent insurrection against the Romans, instead he said "give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's". Read the context.
@dyablohunter I don't have to be there, i read it the bible in it's actual context. Reading a story in its context will sharpen your understanding of what's taking place and why. You should try it sometime, instead of cursing me out.
Sorry about the insults, it was the monkey side of me (not satan). But my friend, you see, there is no reasoning with you, because you will never understand unless you read and research for your self as I did. You presume I did not read the bible when my mother is an evangelical Christian and my dad was labeled by his Orthodox parents as an Orthodox. I was raised with this God fairytale, but because of the education given to me by my dad and my curiosity I became an agnostic.
@dyablohunter You're right! There is no reasoning with me because i don't believe; I KNOW that God exists! Here is my personal story: When I hit 18 years old, raised by christian parents, i decided to find out for myself if God was real or not. I tried to become an atheist; honestly, i did. But there were too many inconclusive theories so I became dissatisfied with evolution and atheism. Continuing...
@dyablohunter I said to myself " I am going find out if God's real; even if I have to get deep into being a christian; like praying, fasting reading the bible etc.. I began to get deeper and deeper and everything began to make more and more sense to me. I got to the point where i would spend hours praying God by myself and I began to have supernatural experiences; like audible speaking, realistic presence in the room with me, realistic enough to scare me! Trust me, i'm not crazy or delusional.
@dyablohunter I know this sounds crazy, but i would've left this stuff years ago and i am now 29 years old. I know what i know and i would be very stupid and ignorant to suddenly turn around and say "I don't believe in God" or "I don't know if God exists or not". This is my personal story. You can dismiss me as "crazy" or delusional but that's up to you! All I did was be honest about myself.
@dyablohunter Not to mention, biblical prophecies being fulfilled. If you'd like, I can message you a few links for proof the the bible's validity as God's word.
@dyablohunter Who died and made you the youtube commentary moderator? Lol. Well, that was the first and last time I 'll do that. It's easy to call someone an uneducated fool for not believing in the inconclusive theory of evolution and i wished to emphasize that my beliefs are solely based on wishful thinking or blind faith. But, alas point taken! Let us agree to disagree.
I am not the king of anything, and I always say I know nothing, I only know what I see, hear, feel. And I feel that we are all one, just like the cells in your body make the whole of what you are. We are part of everything and everything is us. My feeble, young consciousness is not arrogant to say that it knows everything, like religious people claim that their doctrines explain everything. Religion raises more questions than answers. You will never free yourself from fear with religion.
@dyablohunter Correct! Religion is a man-made, hence its ineffective. The christianity that the bible advocates is Not a religion! It is a walk.relationship with God; much like Adam had with God in the beginning. I am free from bondage of religion and I am also free from atheism which is doubt on God's existence and doubt as to why we are alive today.
I think its such a shame to see blacks christians and muslims, both religions forced thier way into Africa... and now majority of us adopt these religions....
That's right Pastor Nigger, enjoy your rights while you have them. You are one election cycle away from being back in the fields and singing the blues.
Dawkins has stated countless times that the morals of the bible teach that you should love no other god but your own etc. those are not morals, they are demands. It is natural for a person to morally want to help someone or love their parents as that is what is best for the survival of the species, if a cub or lioness didn't share love, the cub would die.. it is clearly innate and adapted for the benefit of survival and natural selection.
wait, atheism? homossexual? what the hell is this guy saying? he is fucking stupid, racism is fucking stupid, i dont care if he is black or orange, he has no fucking right to act that way against ANY particular group of people, what atheists are asking is reasonable behavior from all sides, not to be cast out of society coz we dont believe in something you do. If someone asks me to swear to god, if i say "no i wont" that means im a lier? NO! So stop being stupid.
By inviting that guy they are enforcing the stereotype that blacks are retarded niggers with speech impediments, who babbel incoherent bullshit and have no idea what the fuck they are talking about.
I feel lucky I life in europe. The dark ages are over here.

"Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given to the profane masses is another useful idiot for Jesuit machinations"-C.O.
Jesuitical: pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating
The Jesuits completely altered the education system to suit their evolution agenda to discredit the Bible. They cant have a Satanic society of 'Do as Thou Wilt' if people still follow the Bible.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
The Black guy asked a good question. Athiests cannot account for moral accountability. No scientist or athiest can answer this, becuase there is no answer.
@Davieboii1 Society dude. I get my basic morals from the universal Golden Rule- Don't do onto others what you won't want done onto you. Saying we have no morals because we don't believe in a ghost/phantom/daddy doesn't make sense.
@Mimi2591 I didn't say you have to believe in God to be moral . I simply said Where do the morals come from ? On what basis do you validate your assertion as being a proper moral standard? So if you lie or commit adultery, as long as others dont find out about it, and there is no physical or emotional harm involved? Would that be right?Morals for atheists come and go with what society of the time deems appropriate. So for atheists of the 1800s, slavery was a-ok.
@Davieboii1 You know dude, I'm just gonna leave you alone now if you are just gonna write like that about atheists. Also, Christians during that time supported slavery (its condoned in the Bible). At any rate, to get an idea of what atheists think when they go through life--watch part 1 and listen to Dawkins. If you are really interested in an answer, call up The Atheist Experience or watch TheThinkingAtheist on youtube.
@Mimi2591 Your just gonna leave me because you dont have a logical answer. Just admit it and stop being an arrogant athiest. I have watched Dawkins, he couldn't give a n answer to probably the most important question in your theory. You believe we came from a soup mate, think about it lol.
@Davieboii1 Ok, I'm gonna answer your question--with a reference. Go to the comments for this video, and look up ReasonNLogic. By the way, don't be an ass. I don't have an answer for you on my own, because there are too many factors to count that go into moral ethics. We get it from our parents, teachers, friends, other family, our society, our ideals, the environment that we live in and more. Honestly, other people could answer it better than me, hence the references. Don't diss the soup, lol!
@Mimi2591 Now you are moving to references because there is no answer, knew that was coming... can't u just accept God into your heart man, its so much better, you say we get it from all these places? Maybe, but where did they get it from? your just puching the answer back, and more towards God. You are saying the universal Golden rule gives us morals. If this was the case, athiests would think slavery is okay in the 19th centrury, but u know its wrong in your heart, because of morals by God
@Davieboii1 Keep denying that people can still be good to one another without some tyrant in the sky with promise of eternal torture if you should so much as eat shellfish or love another of the same sex. Atheists want to respect humanity, religion (Christianity) gives divine rights to ENSLAVE others because they were CHOSEN by said god they could be cruel to others and if they don't follow gods orders they get tortured in god's basement. At any rate, I'm done with you. Look them up, really.
@Davieboii1 we get them from our critical thinking, something that apparently religion slaves like you don't possess. if you can't tell whether killing or stealing is bad on your own, then you're brainwashed, you're in a serious need of a brain and i feel sorry for you.
@mkwlord Religion slaves? tell me why i am a slave please? Everyone is a slave to the banks you fool. Christianity makes you free, Money is not our God, it is the root of all evil. We worship God, not money. We preach peace and love, give money to the homeless, food, water, shelter, to african children through the salvation army. If we are slaes to anyone, it is too God by doing good deeds, and practicing good moral behaviour. I wouldnt call this slavery, as we do have the option to be athiest
@mkwlord Exaclty Where does critical thinking come from then lol ? Your just pushing the question back even further. Aside from the laws of modern society we have no way to tell what is moral. That is why you hear some crazy things about the cultures of the world.
@Davieboii1 you are a slave because you blindly believe what is shoved down your throats. you even deny evolution and proven scientific FACTS. peace and love? you mean endless wars, racism, hatred, misogynism and homophobia. and don't get me started with medieval christian tortures (type it on youtube and see for yourself). if that's your idea of peace and love then you're a sick bastard. you don't worship money? then why is church not paying money to the country as every citizen MUST pay?
@Davieboii1 the only thing christianity frees you from is your brain. not only that, they also make you ashamed of being human. do you know that theists don't enjoy sex as much as atheists because they feel guitly about the most natural and beautiful human behaviour? did you know that the most sick crimes were done by deeply theists? did you know that divorce rates among christians is higher than in atheists, although is was blessed by "god"?
@mkwlord So are you saying by Christian i don't use my brain and im stupid lol You are ignorant man. I am a university student, study science every week, but i chose to believe in Jesus and God because i have a strong belief in them. Yes sexual intercourse between a man and a woman trying to create life is beautiful:) I wouldnt agree with you on the crime part. If they were true deep theists, they wouldn't commit crime, that is just man, do not blame God.
@mkwlord Thats because there are more Christians than atheists. Also if you are a true Christian you wouldn't get divorced, so stop blaming God for mans sins
@Davieboii1 you totally ignore scientific proven facts that have disproved everything about religions and you dare to call me ignorant? critical thinking comes from our ablity to think. and yes, sex if not for reproducing purposes IS considered sin. so how about the hatred towards women, jews and homosexuals? so much for a just and loving god right? rates are analogies you moron. the total number of population doesn't matter. and you brag about being a univercity student... lol
And by the way getting your ethics from God is quiet appaling. It would mean that if God wasn't there, you would become an evil person, only because some boogy man stands behind you with a club saying, if you don't listen to me!!! That's not ethics, that's tyranny and fear.
@toverkleet Not only that...but the 2,000 year old text that he allegedly obtains his 'morals' from also specifically indicates that you are supposed to stone your unruly children to death, murder anyone working on the sabbath, force a rape victim to marry her rapist or kill her outright because she didn't "scream loud enough"....
There is no way to utilize the Bible as a moral compass unless you selectively delete the distasteful portions. Ignoring the atrocities doesn't make them disappear.
NO,CHRISTIANS MOTHERFUCKERS ! WE ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION !! Are you stupid? The forefathers were DEISTS and some were Pantheists or Agnostics,NOT CHRISTIANS !The 1796 Treaty with Tripoli states that the United States was "not in any sense founded on the Christian religion" . This treaty was written under the presidency of George Washington and signed under the presidency of John Adams. It mentions "Nature's God" and "Divine Providence" and that's the language of DEISM NOT CHRISTIANITY.
If it were "In Allah we trust", there would be hundreds of millions of Christians calling for the phrase to be removed. This woman is too accusatory. It would be easy to win on facts and logic as opposed to making close to blanket statements which fed the christian's views.
I like the atheist chick, but I REALLY wished she had just answered the question that the black dude asked towards the end. If you wanna prove that youre a legit person, then you should DIRECTLY answer any question thrown at you instead of just dancing around it
HYPOCRITES?? WHOS THE HYPOCRITES?? No matter if the country was born by religious beliefs, that doesn't make it truth. This nobody respectfully disagrees with DAWKINS?!! She doesn't have a billionth of the brain he does!! I can't believe she puts herself in the same category!! What A DOUCHE!!
That reverend was on the Comedy Central half-staged debate show Crossballs. It was hilarious. Find it if you can. He's a homophobe and a misogynist and not ashamed of either.
The more science advances, the more stupid religions have to become just to survive, they will have to come back, time and again, on notions that were held as truths before ....

he gets his morals from the bible? I doubt it. I doubt he thinks slavery, stoning homosexuals and non-virgin brides, or killing people who don't worship the same invisible man he does are all morally correct. He may cherry pick whatever the bible happens to say that fits his agenda, which makes him a bigot and a fucking hypocrite.
jesse lee peterson is a complete cunt and a hypocrite himself. he knows full well he's spouting bullshit but if he were to tell the truth his pay packet would shrink.
@brewerbrian420 Exactly, I'll let you explain half of what you are saying then interrupt you. look up the disscussion between the Bishop of Oxford and Richard Dawkins. The Bishop of Oxford is intelligent and has some valid point for his position and let Dawkins talk. One of my favourite christians.
@jarfilli Yeah there are a few out there that actually debate. And those ones I don't mind. I have seen the video you are referring too. He at least listens to the other side of the argument. Peace out.
Why the hell is CNN giving air time to that bigot raving about how homosexuals coming out of the closet was an attack on America? On a more positive note, the two ladies did an excellent job representing a more tolerant viewpoint.
when ever any one ask a Athiest and they fail to have a answer than they will use there stupidty excuse we do not abuse kids as religiouse peoples do we do not keep
womens in home we do not angry to womens we do not this we do not that but we do
@fashanu1000 why does he make you feel bad for standing up for our freedom of religion? there is either a God, or evolution is true, right? there is 8 different human blood types, and not one animal shares it. if evolution is true, we must consider what Darwin said about. black people, they are only half evolved. that's a bunch of crap. there is only one race. the human race. I feel you are as much man as me, regardless of your color. if there was one missing link, there would be billions.
@fashanu1000 yeah umm noo it''s not a christian why is it that atheist are the most judemental people in the world yet they accuse all christians of being the same. I'm christian but I don't believe in denomination. I believe in havinga spirtual connection to god that is my choice regardless of whether or not people accept that. But i think the Catholic church and any other religious group that has had priests abusing children should be punished under the law like regular citizens.
I forget who said it but I quite like the quote "A black christian is like a slave who, once freed, decides to keep living on the plantation". It's like, this is a religion that was forced on you by slaveholders. It is a product of the slavery era. Why hang onto it?
Meanwhile atheism is open to everyone and always has been. Maybe it's naieve but I really do think it'll create a better world than the one religion has given us.
@Zamboro i just wish they would realize that their feeling are real but god is not and those feeling are being taken advantage of by the institution of religion. i dont think "spirituality" is a problem as long as people arent so damn GULLIBLE LMAO
Mr. Peterson,.. the same man who on Fox national cable astoundingly states that he thanks (his) god for slavery and allowing his family and other african-americans to be enslaved so that they can enjoy the [pleasures] of life in modern american... - simply pathetic and embarrassing, Why is this man called "Rev" ? Did he, in fact, ever complete an accredited grammar school in this country ? His views are NO REFLECTION of JESUS' Love and teachings of Liberation
1 Let all who are under the yoke of slavery regard their masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be defamed.
2 Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brethren; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties.
What the... *Good Book* has to say on matters of slavery.
@GabSte1989 [continued] I'm sure there are good parts in teh Bible that are said against slavery. It is, indeed, in the Bible's nature to be self-contradictory, as it is in *God's* (as depicted in teh Bible), but I am as uninterested in that as I am uninterested of hearing about Hitler's good side or good moods.
And if that makes me willfully ignorant to more of the fictitious details of the *Holy Book* - Rumpelstiltskin is thy name!

2. Christians force their beliefs on others more than ANY FUCKING ONE
3. This nation was not founded on religion. (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11)

@Gripsock
No it isn't. 20% of America doesn't have a religious affiliation.
It still means they can believe in a God like a spirit or life force.
Atheists are only a minority, much lower than 20%.
BrutalValor 1 week ago
@BrutalValor Not at all. That 20% is Atheists, Agnostics and No "affiliation". If you separated all the different forms of christianity then their percentage would drop a lot lower. They put Protestant and Catholics in the same number, they are much more different than Atheists and Agnostics and "No affiliation"s.

Ubernoob85 3 weeks ago

@Kayode88 You need to calm the fuck down. As a person with free will, not attached to any kind of lifestyle and a believer of facts, yeah, I would consider myself a smarter person than most religious believers. I'm not gullible and not easy to persuade into things that makes no sense to me at all. I see the world and people as it is and that makes me smarter in a way. If someone came up to me and said "God is watching you", I'd say "What an idiot"! But that doesn't give me a higher IQ.

@SomeGuyCalledJames ...but it shouldn't prioritize white and/or christian citizens over minorities. The Constitution gives people freedom for and from religion by keeping government and society neutral. boecxyec 3 months ago
@boecxyec Christianity does not promote slavery or racism. You need to remember that the law of the old testament has been nullified when Christ fulfilled the law. Now the book of Galatians says " there is neither greek, nor jew nor gentile in christ, but all are one.
jabe55 3 months ago
@jabe55 Funny that you should mention it.. In NT, these slaves were told to serve their masters as if they were serving Christ, with morals, faithfulness, and respectfullness (Ephesians 6:5-8 KJV). Likewise, slaves were told by Paul in his first Corinthian to follow suit and in fact were admonished to obey their masters "as to the Lord, and not to men" that is of course unless they were to somehow to buy out of their freedom (oh great, isn't that generous). Soo back to square one..
boecxyec 3 months ago
@boecxyec Like i said, the bible does not promote slavery, it does mention slavery because in that time the Romans had slaves so the message was directed to them in that fashion. It also tells slaves to obey their masters but that doesn't mean you should say it's pro-slavery, because it's not. That letter was written to those people who had slaves so you need to read the bible in the whole context, not just one text. Remember, God commanded moses to free Israel from the slavery in Egypt.
jabe55 3 months ago
@jabe55 Yeah because he had special plans for the israelites (btw the story of the exodus is considered false by most archaeoligists as there is no evidence of moses running around the desert let alon a exodus of poeple from egypt also there is archaeoligical evidence for the indigenous nature of Israel suggesting they were there all along.) why does the bible tell Jesus or whoever to free the slaves in Roman era Palestine? Nooo jus obey sounds like slave supporting to me?
lololololol47 3 months ago

@jabe55
I was raised with this God fairytale, but because of the education given to me by my dad and my curiosity I became an agnostic.
dyablohunter 2 months ago
@dyablohunter You're right! There is no reasoning with me because i don't believe; I KNOW that God exists! Here is my personal story: When I hit 18 years old, raised by christian parents, i decided to find out for myself if God was real or not. I tried to become an atheist; honestly, i did. But there were too many inconclusive theories so I became dissatisfied with evolution and atheism. Continuing...
jabe55 2 months ago
@dyablohunter I said to myself " I am going find out if God's real; even if I have to get deep into being a christian; like praying, fasting reading the bible etc.. I began to get deeper and deeper and everything began to make more and more sense to me. I got to the point where i would spend hours praying God by myself and I began to have supernatural experiences; like audible speaking, realistic presence in the room with me, realistic enough to scare me! Trust me, i'm not crazy or delusional.
jabe55 2 months ago
@dyablohunter I know this sounds crazy, but i would've left this stuff years ago and i am now 29 years old. I know what i know and i would be very stupid and ignorant to suddenly turn around and say "I don't believe in God" or "I don't know if God exists or not". This is my personal story. You can dismiss me as "crazy" or delusional but that's up to you! All I did was be honest about myself.

Religion raises more questions than answers. You will never free yourself from fear with religion.
dyablohunter 2 months ago
@dyablohunter Correct! Religion is a man-made, hence its ineffective. The christianity that the bible advocates is Not a religion!

A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.

The Black guy asked a good question. Athiests cannot account for moral accountability. No scientist or athiest can answer this, becuase there is no answer.
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 Society dude. I get my basic morals from the universal Golden Rule- Don't do onto others what you won't want done onto you. Saying we have no morals because we don't believe in a ghost/phantom/daddy doesn't make sense.
Mimi2591 4 months ago
@Mimi2591 I didn't say you have to believe in God to be moral . I simply said Where do the morals come from ? On what basis do you validate your assertion as being a proper moral standard? So if you lie or commit adultery, as long as others dont find out about it, and there is no physical or emotional harm involved? Would that be right?Morals for atheists come and go with what society of the time deems appropriate. So for atheists of the 1800s, slavery was a-ok.
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 You know dude, I'm just gonna leave you alone now if you are just gonna write like that about atheists. Also, Christians during that time supported slavery (its condoned in the Bible). At any rate, to get an idea of what atheists think when they go through life--watch part 1 and listen to Dawkins. If you are really interested in an answer, call up The Atheist Experience or watch TheThinkingAtheist on youtube.
Mimi2591 4 months ago
@Mimi2591 Your just gonna leave me because you dont have a logical answer. Just admit it and stop being an arrogant athiest. I have watched Dawkins, he couldn't give a n answer to probably the most important question in your theory. You believe we came from a soup mate, think about it lol.
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 Ok, I'm gonna answer your question--with a reference. Go to the comments for this video, and look up ReasonNLogic. By the way, don't be an ass. I don't have an answer for you on my own, because there are too many factors to count that go into moral ethics. We get it from our parents, teachers, friends, other family, our society, our ideals, the environment that we live in and more. Honestly, other people could answer it better than me, hence the references. Don't diss the soup, lol!
Mimi2591 4 months ago
@Mimi2591 Now you are moving to references because there is no answer, knew that was coming... can't u just accept God into your heart man, its so much better, you say we get it from all these places? Maybe, but where did they get it from? your just puching the answer back, and more towards God. You are saying the universal Golden rule gives us morals. If this was the case, athiests would think slavery is okay in the 19th centrury, but u know its wrong in your heart, because of morals by God
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 Keep denying that people can still be good to one another without some tyrant in the sky with promise of eternal torture if you should so much as eat shellfish or love another of the same sex. Atheists want to respect humanity, religion (Christianity) gives divine rights to ENSLAVE others because they were CHOSEN by said god they could be cruel to others and if they don't follow gods orders they get tortured in god's basement. At any rate, I'm done with you. Look them up, really.
Mimi2591 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 we get them from our critical thinking, something that apparently religion slaves like you don't possess. if you can't tell whether killing or stealing is bad on your own, then you're brainwashed, you're in a serious need of a brain and i feel sorry for you.
mkwlord 4 months ago
@mkwlord Religion slaves? tell me why i am a slave please? Everyone is a slave to the banks you fool. Christianity makes you free, Money is not our God, it is the root of all evil. We worship God, not money. We preach peace and love, give money to the homeless, food, water, shelter, to african children through the salvation army. If we are slaes to anyone, it is too God by doing good deeds, and practicing good moral behaviour. I wouldnt call this slavery, as we do have the option to be athiest
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@mkwlord Exaclty Where does critical thinking come from then lol ? Your just pushing the question back even further. Aside from the laws of modern society we have no way to tell what is moral. That is why you hear some crazy things about the cultures of the world.
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 you are a slave because you blindly believe what is shoved down your throats. you even deny evolution and proven scientific FACTS. peace and love? you mean endless wars, racism, hatred, misogynism and homophobia. and don't get me started with medieval christian tortures (type it on youtube and see for yourself). if that's your idea of peace and love then you're a sick bastard. you don't worship money? then why is church not paying money to the country as every citizen MUST pay?
mkwlord 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 the only thing christianity frees you from is your brain. not only that, they also make you ashamed of being human. do you know that theists don't enjoy sex as much as atheists because they feel guitly about the most natural and beautiful human behaviour? did you know that the most sick crimes were done by deeply theists? did you know that divorce rates among christians is higher than in atheists, although is was blessed by "god"?
mkwlord 4 months ago

If they were true deep theists, they wouldn't commit crime, that is just man, do not blame God.
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@mkwlord Thats because there are more Christians than atheists. Also if you are a true Christian you wouldn't get divorced, so stop blaming God for mans sins
Davieboii1 4 months ago
@Davieboii1 you totally ignore scientific proven facts that have disproved everything about religions and you dare to call me ignorant? critical thinking comes from our ablity to think. and yes, sex if not for reproducing purposes IS considered sin. so how about the hatred towards women, jews and homosexuals? so much for a just and loving god right? rates are analogies you moron. the total number of population doesn't matter. and you brag about being a univercity student... lol

-Black Atheist.
k1ngkoo0pa 5 months ago
@fashanu1000 why does he make you feel bad for standing up for our freedom of religion? there is either a God, or evolution is true, right? there is 8 different human blood types, and not one animal shares it. if evolution is true, we must consider what Darwin said about. black people, they are only half evolved. that's a bunch of crap. there is only one race. the human race. I feel you are as much man as me, regardless of your color. if there was one missing link, there would be billions.

@fashanu1000 Go ahead and list all the things you hate about black people so I don't make the same mistake again.
hippotoast 6 months ago
@fashanu1000 yeah umm noo it''s not a christian why is it that atheist are the most judemental people in the world yet they accuse all christians of being the same. I'm christian but I don't believe in denomination. I believe in havinga spirtual connection to god that is my choice regardless of whether or not people accept that. But i think the Catholic church and any other religious group that has had priests abusing children should be punished under the law like regular citizens.

@fashanu1000 its just somethin about black people being against free speech and constitutional freedom thats sooooo Embarrassingly ironic

@PimpMyParadigm
I forget who said it but I quite like the quote "A black christian is like a slave who, once freed, decides to keep living on the plantation". It's like, this is a religion that was forced on you by slaveholders. It is a product of the slavery era. Why hang onto it?
Zamboro 5 months ago 23
@Zamboro yea thats a great analogy its disgusting how religion makes black ppl act homophobic conspiratorial, irrational, self righteous.
PimpMyParadigm 5 months ago
@PimpMyParadigm
Meanwhile atheism is open to everyone and always has been. Maybe it's naieve but I really do think it'll create a better world than the one religion has given us.
Zamboro 5 months ago 6
@Zamboro i just wish they would realize that their feeling are real but god is not and those feeling are being taken advantage of by the institution of religion. i dont think "spirituality" is a problem as long as people arent so damn GULLIBLE LMAO
PimpMyParadigm 5 months ago
@Zamboro Also, Christianity (Old Testament and New) were directly cited for advocating and defending slavery ever since they were written.

Mr. Peterson,.. the same man who on Fox national cable astoundingly states that he thanks (his) god for slavery and allowing his family and other african-americans to be enslaved so that they can enjoy the [pleasures] of life in modern american... - simply pathetic and embarrassing, Why is this man called "Rev" ? Did he, in fact, ever complete an accredited grammar school in this country ? His views are NO REFLECTION of JESUS' Love and teachings of Liberation

@Zamboro Ephesians 6:5 - 6:8
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ;
6 not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to men,
8 knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.
[to be continued]
GabSte1989 4 months ago
@GabSte1989 [continued] 1 Timothy 6:1 - 6:2
GabSte1989 4 months ago
@GabSte1989 [continued] If that's not a good, metal brush, sulfuric acid scrubbing, BRAIN WASHING...
I, with all honesty, do not know what it could otherwise be.
Truly, do I pity the American of African slave descent.
GabSte1989 4 months ago
@GabSte1989 [continued] I'm sure there are good parts in teh Bible that are said against slavery. It is, indeed, in the Bible's nature to be self-contradictory, as it is in *God's* (as depicted in teh Bible), but I am as uninterested in that as I am uninterested of hearing about Hitler's good side or good moods.
And if that makes me willfully ignorant to more of the fictitious details of the *Holy Book* - Rumpelstiltskin is thy name!
