I have no idea why they call themselves the gregorians. The entire point of gregorian chants was that they did not go up or down in pitch. But stayed monotone.
@saberaxe Gregorian chant did go up and down in pitch but it was not polyphonic as this is you are correct this is not medieval gregorian but if it was it would have no music accompanyment and it would only be in latin. Gregorian chants were latin text sang with the voice only not instruments this is like a 20th century gregorian.

Many "classical" Latin texts, Cicero, Ovid, etc, have as little as one single copy remaining as a witness to the author's existence! There are thousands of texts recording the Old and New Testaments. The line of texts goes back to the 2nd century at least! All accord with one another! "Brainwashed"? No, just educated & very fortunate to be Catholic!

religion operates at a different level to 'faith', which is intrinsic to the individual soul, as is love and life itself. Song offers a transport through the air and through time in the relearning and sharing of that echo of our whole and resurrected selves. Blackbird (dead of night) gets a mention as does Swan. Our beautiful singers are as gods to us, they connect us with life.

@lcserg87 No, but we find Christ in people. see Matthew, chapter 25, verses 31 to 40 especially. "I am the vine, you are the Branches" also indicates our union with Christ. As Paul puts it, we are members of His Body. Since the Universe with Man as its crown and unifier is ONE, there can be only one Saviour or Christ. Christ gives us the grace to "unify" humanity through love. Without Christ man would never achieve this unity. Bishop Sheen's book, "Three to Get Married" is apropos!

For Thomas "Grace(God's intimate Friendship) does not destroy nature but perfects it." Corollary: Any religion to the extent that it dehumanizes man cannot be from God. For me, God calls us to a supernatural destiny, union with Him and through Him with all mankind. This marriage-like union with God is pure Gift. Super union!

@JiffJaffa The Christian texts, esp the Bible are indeed the most authenticated documents from 2,000-2,5000 years ago. Many "classical" Latin texts, Cicero, Ovid, etc, have as little as one single copy remaining as a witness to the author's existence! There are thousands of texts recording the Old and New Testaments. The line of texts goes back to the 2nd century at least! All accord with one another! "Brainwashed"? No, just educated & very fortunate to be Catholic!
