I know this will sound like sacrilege, but I think the work done by all the participants is even more superior than the great music SYREETA did with Stevie. THIS ALBUM WAS GENIUS! Thanks for your contributions to it also!!
@TheGuitarpete - Hey Pete ... I'm just getting back over here. Yes, we did do some really good music together. I think it was greater than I knew at the time. However with the magic and skillz of Syreeta and the rest of us ... our hearts and souls were engaged in the creative process .... and letting it flow ... that is the recipe for ART.
Words ... trying to express the inexpressible ... I am just grateful. Amen.
That's Gary Bartz on Alto Saxophone, Howard King on drums from the Gary Bartz Ntu Troop (which I was a member of), Michael Sembello on acoustic guitar, myself on electric bass.
Such a vocal performance by Syreeta ... she sang it. David Bloomberg arranged the orchestra with lots of suggestions from Syreeta and I.
We created some great music ... I had all but forgotten about ... thanks to the internet. I'll have to break out my old albums ... The Spirit of Syreeta lives on and on. Peace.
Thank you israelmustrise for posting this Syreeta song. It's been many, many years since I've heard it. I plugged in my laptop into my stereo and turned it up ... it took me back to when Syreeta and I wrote this song together ... and had the honor of co-produced it with Leon Ware for Motown (thanks Berry Gordy and Susan DePasse for okaying this project!)
@CurtisRobertsonJr You & Syreeta hit a home run. I bought this album back in '77 because of this song. This is my favorite Syreeta song. Though she is no longer here with us her body of work remains to remind us of what a special person she was. Thanx for the great music & memories Curtis.
incredible song!! was sitting around with the girls crying over our then boyfriends, and our friend Toni had the wisdom to put on this song......we all put our heads back and immediately felt better.....this song never left our memories.....what a great time for music.......gotta somehow get it back again.....thx for the posting.....
This is pure bliss. My God.
