I remember playing this game for the first time years ago. The music, and sound, drew me into the world in a way that no other game has. When I hear this piece and close my eyes, I can still remember sitting in the grass with friends I had just made. Waiting a few moments to gather strength for the next battle we would talk as if we were actually in an alternate reality. I feel terrible about what they have taken away from the game since then to bring it closer to today's standards.

I strongly disagree,

From my experience many aspects of the game were more or less copied from existing games. Some features were really cool without doubt. The worsed part of the game was that in was almost entirely based on grinding and the endgame content was in now way skill based. PvP in L2 is entirely determined by gear. The smoothness of the animations were also quite poor. Sure its not a bad game but when u compare it to the other serieus mmorpgs, WoW in particular, its poor

This argument is invalid, when WoW came out it wasnt all that amazing. Many aspects of the game were broken, battlegrounds did not work and there was huge pvp inbalance. Many of the content was also quite boring and high end PvE was tank and spank. The difference with L2 is that Blizzard improved their game drasticly, this investment greatly improved their costumers apreciation and thus their player base. L2 however, has not had any of these great improvements to its gameplay.

@Yetze its a grindcore game, and is pretty much designed for an asian fanbase that like those type of games where more time investment = more reward, if you don't like the game you don't like it, bashing it doesn't make it bad, the stuff they added was to treat their hardcore fanbase not the nubs

im merely critisizing the game, not bashing it. The fact that it designed for an Asian playerbase is no excuse for its lack of quality and improvements. Since the games balance was entirely determined by gear, you cant be really 'good' at L2, so just because ur level 78 doenst mean ur pro.

Played this game 4 years on retail.... i still remember my orc titan..... started lvl 1 naked in Paagrio's Temple, and finished lvl 80 S grade in Aden, and i still remember all my comrades.... that's very nostalgic, it remind me on C4, when L2 was still a GREAT game..... it's a mess that NCSOFT ruined it at the end.... real old L2 players will know what i mean.... we all had a great time there, gg all.

Every now and again I stumble across L2 OST tracks, and I get so nostalgic that I want to pick up my Paladin right then and their, but I know better. Lineage 2 the game is dead to me, but the memories and nostalgia is so strong. Years of my life, and my outlook towards video games are heavily influenced by this game.

Absolute stunning soundtrack. The best I have ever seen, better than any movie, game, or show out. If only the other companies would create masterpieces like this...

I started playing back in C1, but I didn't make it far because I was shitty as fuck at MMORPG's I was like.. under 12, and I used to go on the boat to here this song all the time. I played it once after 4 years of not checking it out, and then when I heard the Talking Island Village theme, and hearing the sound when you use Soulshots, I swear nostalgia tears came out, a little bit =P
