  • Lame music.

  • @Proconstitutioner, The earth is WAAAAY older than 6,000 years old. The dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and 6,000 years ago, people were around

  • A good set of videos. Thank you for providing your references. (You know, like real scientists do.)

  • The Coelacanths are really fascinating creatures. It's amazing that their history goes back 415 million years and the extant Coelacanths are relatively unchanged since they diverged 40 million years ago.

  • great video. i enjoyed the whole thing and i hate to read.

  • lmao, bboy song on a vid about fish o.e

  • i wud've watch this vid,but u sir,have no taste of music.

  • The earth is millions of years old you fucking idiots. You've been brainwashed by the school system to think it is. Evolution is a load of shit. Check out my channel. I prove everything I talk about.

  • I don't take Kent Hovinds or Carl Baughs falsehoods as 'proof', give me original research please, not people who are burning straw-man.

Every credible creationist distances himself as much as possible from those two people.

Look up Kurt Wise or Todd Wood. Those are credible creationists. And you might want to erase every knowledge you have of evolution or related topics because I'm certain that it is distorted too much by Hovind and Baugh.

Let the next comment please be on Coelacanths.

  • Credible creationists???? That's an oxymoron if ever I saw one

  • @ProConstitutioner Billions.

  • @XxStalkerxSasquachXx no, the earth is only 6,000 years old.

  • @ProConstitutioner,

Please keep the text comments scientific.

If you like science I suggest you start reading scientific papers on the subject. If you don't like science, the I suggest you get off that computer and don't use anything science has done for you.

The people you follow (Carl Baugh ad Kent Hovind) are liars and proven liars.

If you want to look honest come with something a decent creation scientist has come up with, I'll give you two hints: Todd Wood, Kurt Wise.

  • @ProConstitutioner

    I lol'd

  • @ProConstitutioner Some quaking aspens would like to have a word with you.

  • @ProConstitutioner I meant to put that the earth IS NOT MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD.

  • @ProConstitutioner The Eath is 4,566 million years old, dumb shit !

  • @ProConstitutioner You just block people who show you are wrong, dip shit.

  • How common (or rare) are they?

  • There are only vague estimates because they live in deep waters. The species that was discovered in 1938 has a population size of 500 or fewer and the population size of the second species discovered in 1999 is still unknown.

  • I did get a book about them years ago, but it went missing before I had a chance to read it through properly. I should have a look for it sometime.

    Nice vid though.

  • @ste309w if i had to guess, and its hard to guess, because the true number isnt known yet, but i'd say between, 300- possably 900, maybe 1,000 if lucky, but thats just me guessing, i could be utterly wrong

  • I told you to provide evidence, you just make a statement that it is invented by someone who hates God (provide evidence) and that it has been proven false (provide evidence). The Bible and God aren't evidence for an outsider like me because I see Christians who take the Bible literally and accept 'billions of years', take for example Morton who takes the Bible very literally. How am I suppose to take that as a credible argument when people read different things?

  • @Terrencje

You hadn't noticed that billions of years passing in one frame of reference while six days pass in another frame of reference is no violation of modern physics? I'm so perplexed why people continue to get hung up about "six days" vs "billions of years". Physics absolutely permits a scenario where this is possible, unless we've disproved relativity.

  • @thejilly915 I'd rather believe the facts than some old writings of jews

  • @Novice571

Alright, then remember.. it's your choice to go to Hell.

  • God and the bible.

  • @thejilly915 You play Animal Crossing therefore your ideas and anything you say is irrelevant. lol

  • You guys are idiots for thinking that the world or the "evolution" of a fish is 415 million year old...

  • My references provide detailed analysis of why some particular fossils I named in this series are as old as it shows. If you think I used flawed references or something is not correct, do not only state that I'm an idiot, but give your position and provide evidence for your position or at least references to something or someone credible.

  • have you heard of the phrase "A picture tells a thousand words"? Words and lines, what kind of video is this?

  • In the case of a scientific discussion which this video was part of, pictures are not always like thousand words. That is why I have a few pictures with a lot of text because this subject covers....a lot of text! Also it was more of a practise in making a simple video and adding music in it. I'm really bad at making these things, but I just wanted to get this information out and it was helpfull in many cases.

  • Hmm... Understood, it's not easy to find pictures on these ancient creatures anyways. Argument resolved.

  • What kind of ignorant music (if you want to call it that) are you putting in this video, and what the hell for?

  • To learn how to incorporatea music into a video. Making movies for youtube isn't only to make people laugh, discussions, eductation or that sort of things, it is also helpfull to practise things that are involved in making videos.

And I (and others) like this music anyway ;)

  • Its your story - make it as big as you want !

  • Hey look everybody! It V8Deuce, the moronic asshole! How's your SAD LIFE, V8Deuce? Did your father love you? Does ANYBODY in your life love you?

  • nice vid, the musak is a bit distracting but good vid non the less :o)

  • first is liger, now is coelacanth what is later Elemoths???(elphant+mammoth)

  • Are you looking for a crocoduck too?

  • crocodile and a duck???!!!!!!! O.O

  • search Golden Crocoduck Award

  • aPACHEEEEEE....

  • question which species is the largest and oldest? i know they both came around the same time period.

  • Time period? I think that finding these coelacanth's still alive calls the "fossil record" into question, doesn't it.

How do we explain that the rock layer containing a coelacanth is so many millions of years old if these things are still alive? If they are still alive then any rock they are found in can be any age, can't it? If they date the rocks by the fossils then how can this be?

  • Geologists use radiometric dating to find the age of the rocks. Paleontologists use the same technique to date fossilized remains. They use different radioactive isotopes, each with their respective half lives, to date samples. A quick Google search should provide you with more info. :)

  • 1.Neither of the extant species of coelacanth can be found in the fossil record.

2.The age of strata is found by radiometric dating.

  • This was part 2 of a series on Coelacanths. If you watched the first you could get some idea of the coelacanths we find in the fossil record: whole different species and genera.

Coelacanths are an order, just like primates or cetacea (whales and dolphins).

  • They don't date the rocks by fossils.

They use 'index fossils' in the field when they don't have a mass spectomoter in their back pocket.

    It didn't die, so what?

Yes, it can be found in any age rock, after 415 million years ago, when it evolved.

  • JUMP ON IT!!!!! JUMP ON IT!!!!!! nice song :]

  • That is one weird ass fish.

  • You should read it and make the video into a Douglas Adams kind of style. It'll be more interesting.

  • Next video will be more like that. Im not good at video making, but every video comes out better than the previous.

Thank you for your opinion :)

  • Another excellent video sir. Well researched and referenced. Very good job, but maybe a little work on the music? I was suprised to find out that there are actually two species of extant lobe-fins. Again, good work.

  • Not only Coelacanth but all the species of lungfishes (I think 6 known) are lobe-finned fishes to :)

I will do a voice next video, Im still learning, but my videos are getting better and better :)

  • Agreed, you are getting much better. Keep it up.
