The center stand is standard equipment, as is the side stand. BMW recommends the use of the center stand. Due to the way the valves sit sideways in the engine use of the side stand allows a bit of oil to stay in them when not on the center stand. This is what causes the smoke on start up. For the first couple years I had my K i never used the center stand. The oil is minimal and never caused any fouling of the plugs. These bikes are damn near indestructible. 40K miles and vales r perfect.
@timzy0 Anyways....price wise you can get a K75 or K100 in the $3000 usd range in good condition. I paid 4$k 10 years ago. And with 40K miles I've never had any major issues other than the speedo/odo not working. For some reason BMW sucks and sourcing a good unit.
This looks like the Emu Cafe in Osaka Japan. K100 series, trying to look like a K1100 and it does not sound like a K bike at all as it has an after market exhaust. Don't like the sound, the K100 made made such beautiful music, in fact it sounds nicer than the K1100.
The old K is the nicer and better bike! I don't know why the all use the aftermarket exhaust. Maybe because the cover of the pipe cost a fortune and is the only part of it which is not stainless steel. Interesting to me is the polished bottom housing. could be a good idea .-) while exchanging the free wheel.
@spidiq8 I"ve been around a long time, so has my old GS, occasionaly I ride/rock off the center stand just like he did, I'd like to know what's so stupid about it. If I bothered to put it on the center stand more often I'd do what he did more often. Usually I push it off but usually I'm not gettin right on it, I've just set the carbs or whatever, worked on it when it's on the center stand. Otherwise I use the kickstand, if it smokes who gives a shit, 107,000 miles of neglect and still kicken

That's not a café racer? That's a UFO with lots and lots of plastic.

BTW, that center stand is made specifically to be used that way. I've owned my Brick
for ten years and any BMW dealer will teach you how to do it properly.

これ自分も持っている。けどこっちのほうがきれいですね。自分のはカウルに大きな傷が入っている。カスタムされたシートがかっこいいですね。

This is a K series tourer, not a cafe racer, do you understand the concept of a cafe racer?
For anyone watching that's an incredibly stupid way of taking a bike off the mainstand, especially one as heavy as a K
