The lesson plans were already released over a week earlier & they were about globalization & full of excercises about how kids can help their President achieve his goals & how they can spread his message. DOE had to publicly apologize for "poor choice of words" & reccomend revisions.

Then the speech was released so that is why it seems it was changed.

His campaign site HEAVILY encourages kids to convince adults of Obama's greatness & email in what the adults are thinking politically.

i think hearing from the president that you should do good in school because teenagers don't listen to their parents, its not the parents job, once kids get to the point where they don't care what their parents say, it is good to hear it from someone else, especially our country's leader. i think everyone made a bigger deal out of it than it really was. and it is true that if he's doing his part to give students what they need to succeed then maybe we can give back and do well.
