I think that the diference beetwen the A8181 version and the "original version" is the screen.

I have the A8181 version of the desire and it has a S-LCD screen (super LCD) and the "original version" has an AMOLED screen. (S-LCD is a little better) only worse in CONTRAST

@50pistolas1 to be real honest, there is hardly any noticeable difference with the 2 versions, but some people still question why they are receiving the S-LCD one though, shame HTC couldnt keep supplying them with AMOLED.
