So, this is our new Captain James Tiberius Kirk of the Starship Enterprise.

I remember reading an interview with Chris where he said that he purposely did not try to imitate William Shatner, but judging from his voice, I think that if he did want to imitate Shatner, he could easily pull it off.

He's very funny and charming here - qualities Kirk has as well.  I think he's going to be a great Captain and action hero in the new Star Trek film. Chris is lucky to have gotten this famous role.
