  • Inflation happens, but if you only report part of it, you can call the part you hide an increase in GDP.

  • As long as you under report inflation enough you will have positive GDP.

  • I know for a fact that unemloyment numbers didn't move in a poitive direction at all. Our local paper' employment op section used to be two full pages long. Now it's only less than a 1/4 of a single page.

Half of my neighbors are laid off. So many stores have closed down. I've never seen so many forclosure signs in so many yards. There is zero evidence of any financial upswing. It's an outright lie.

  • all the people who think like you crabby are nothing bot a bunch of white supermasy wanna be and you know it you think that you deserve everything in life just because of the color of your skin and that is a bull s.....t way of thinking tell me bro who many more years do you have in this heart? do you think it is worthy being thinking only about you and your people or is it worty trying to care for one another and stop dividing people in this way us and them

  • @9serchiyo your off base with your comment. Its rich versus poor, Banksters versus us. We, being black and white and brown.

  • @9serchiyo Sheesh. You accuse Charlie of being divisive and then go on to make the single most racially divisive comment ever. Unbelievable.

  • @9serchiyo

Looks to me that Charlie is warning anyone who will listen, buddy.

It sounds like to me, that you are the one with a "chip on his/her shoulder".

And furthermore, why should one not profit for which they work hard for?

I have Chickens, geese, ducks, guineas, and dairy goats, that I bought, feed, water, take care of when they are sick, etc.

They are NOT community property, and when the dollar crashes, I will shoot the first man who lays a hand on them.

    NO ENTITLEMENTS.

  • Charlie you gotta love Obama's Glodman Sachs jokes at the correspondants dinner. Just laughin about it right in everyone's face.

  • Charlie, the only way the GDP could better if true, is us ones that are still stocking up on necessities or buying a few clothes to work temp jobs which is all we can find within two yrs.

  • Thanks for real news Charlie. I hope my UI benefits don't run out.

  • All I can say is California, is looking more and more, like a ghost town each day !!! California is at the front line!!! Austerity is not far behind!!! California will be the primer, downtown San Diego has plenty of empty high rise condominiums, do work!!!

  • Thanks Charlie

  • gratzz

  • Vote all incumbents out of office. The Republocrat - Corporate hold on America has got to be broken by the American people. No more voting for the Bush Clinton dynasty or the candidates groomed by the party and sold by the media. We have a choice here folks. We can either rise up...or bend over.

  • we are gonna have some serious problems when they stop extending the unemployment benefits

  • Charlie don't forget.

Government spending is growing through the roof. That's the GDP growth they refer to. The Art of the Three-Shell Game

  • Love the vids.

  • after watching some investment guys on bloomberg from the calutaa something , gdp will grow for 3 more qts. v shape. employment not very much and so you will get jobless recovery with the jobs lost not coming back, ever. but short term jobless recovery and gdp growth ='s soaring productivity and soaring growth, then a sputtering out in 2011

  • You are right about the end of the stimulus and what it will do to real estate.

BTW, I met a small farmer yesterday. He set up a farm in 2008 on 13 acres near San Antonio. He sells organic beef and pork. He told me his business is down 75%. That hurts. They say the economy is much better in TX, but I don't see how.

  • Plastic resins have seen increases of approx sixty percent in the last months...OUT OF CONTROL INFLATION... just wait till it starts to hit the consumer..

    ..

  • plant your gardens folks ....eliminate as many expenses as possible..give up things voluntarily ...save your resources ...the train wreck is happening all around us

  • true that!

  • Thanks again Charlie for explaining our current status. Changes day to day pretty drastically and I can't keep up.

  • Thanks for the video. Maybe the jobs will be in Iran, wearing a uniform and carrying an assault rifle.

I was in Las Vegas last week. It's busier than a month ago (10-20%), but it's still half of its go-go prime of 2007.

  • Great video Charlie. I think another problem in this country is that the government cannot be trusted. They have a nice long run of big lies oing on. That is not good. That is sad that people who are elected to help American citizens turn their backs on them for their own benefit. I know honesty and politics don't go together. But it's not a joke any more.

  • Good economic Analysis Charlie. I was wondering how they were coming up with these numbers.

  • good video , people need GOD man can not fix all this , only GOD

  • Don't beat your heads on the wall. It's all deceit and they will not stop till they drain everything you have. Look at the Health Care bill. it;'s a TAX !!!!!

It's all fakery...discuss expound as you may...it's blatant criminal lies and corruption.

  • the ecnomic news has to be positive,so the next stimulus will go through.now with the oil spill, its passing is for sure.the jobs bill also must pass, extend unemployment further, tax credut 4 new home buyers.

  • Great analysis!

  • This whole recession has me baffled. We should be able to "see" the effects. Every time I drive by the local restaurants/bars/malls, the parking lots are CRAMMED with gigantic SUVs with no spaces left. Every one's shopping like there's no tomorrow! I still don't get it.

  • @dgmoocher I think it may be a psychological reaction to the panic we all faced during the initial crisis. We seem to be in a sort of transitional limbo (which to me means we're in the eye of the storm), but I think people need to "cut loose" from the stress occasionally.

My family is skating along the edge but we go out for a good meal now and then - kind of an "it's only money" response to economic uncertainty.

  • @dgmoocher I don't get it either. Everywhere I go---restaurants, shopping malls, retail stores, you name it; completely mobbed. Places are packed and everyone is spending. Where are people getting this money from to spend if things are supposedly so bad? I see people driving brand new cars, housing are being sold...maybe things are improving??? I just don't know anymore.

  • isn't eric lovely part of the rap?...i would not mind hearing an update on that too....

  • Everybody. DONATE TO PETER SCHIFF TODAY.

  • @charlie...have you noticed the price of OSB?...its had 100% increase in the last 30 days...it was 4.80 a sheet last of march here..its 10.98 sheet today at lowes.

  • @centervilletn by monday afternoon middle tennessee will be declared a national disaster...we have had 9 to 13 inches of rain since 6 am here..it is flooding everywhere....and they are forcasting worse for tomorrow...so that means more federal money is going to have to come from some where...

  • @centervilletn not good...i hope your garden is ok....

  • @centervilletn Thanks for the explanation about OSB.

I wish you could send some of that rain you are getting here to Austin, TX.

  • @centervilletn oh yes i'm well aware. its nuts. no good reason for it.

  • @crabbydogtrix Yeah there is. Well, maybe there is no GOOD reason, but when demand plummets, mills shut down since they cannot stay profitable. Then comes a shortage since there is not enough demand to keep mills open. All inventories are very low and quality is shit. Since retailers like H Depot make profit on large sales on small margins, they have to raise prices just to keep the lights on.

  • @crabbydogtrix

    Exactly right.

Yeah, Menards was selling 1/2", 4'x8' particle boards last year for approx. $5 a sheet.

I wanted a couple this year for a project, but they now sell for approx. $14 a sheet.

    I think I'll wait......................

Keep up the good work, Charlie!

  • @ziggy2sound4u Wait for the dollar to depreciate more rapidly everyday? The true measure of a currency is how it is doing in items such as building materials. The dollar has some devaluing yet to come to balance out the "stimulous", no doubt...The degree to which these prices rise are tied to that "balance".

  • @gwh21375

Personally, I think it be a good idea to obtain some form of livestock, canned goods, guns, ammo, and O.P. garden seed.

When the dollar crashes, you'll be glad you have it.

As for the 4x8 sheets, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Pallets are for free, and can be used for building materials.

  • @crabbydogtrix

I heard it is because huge shipments of OSB have been sent to Haiti, creating a reduction in our domestic supply/inventories.

  • @centervilletn Sorry, but I am feeling ignorant here: what is OSB?

  • @countryhorsefive oriented strand board, used for siding in new construction, or remodel/additioins. made out of fibers and glue, is an engineered wood product rated for strength and moisture content, etc.

  • @countryhorsefive it is the major decking for home construction,...its plyboard..oriented strand board...it looks like wood chips glued together..the outside walls are typically decked with this material on new home construction

  • Charlie, try applying your inescapable logic to our UK figures! Makes the US look good by comparison.

  • @deelean i know the same scam "recovery" reports are being fed to you too. Thanks for the comment

  • Also, shame on the 2 pathetic trolls who immediately thumbs-down'd this video. Get a life, guys. Surely you've got better things to do than waiting for Charlie to post a video so you can instantly click the thumbs down icon? It's not like it has any effect anyhow. Every vote counts toward things like "most rated" honours etc, so you're actually helping out, while at the same time making yourselves look like the petty children that you are.

  • FONZD :)

    .

I feel like the system is outdated, broken, and corrupt to boot. I think there are better ways of doing the things it claims we need it for.

  • @drutter I AGREE DR. Thanks for your comments and your troll control measures
