For starters, plyometrics for the lower body, especially bounding. One position specific exericise would be setting up a plyo-box with 5 to 10 yards of room to sprint. Start at the top of the box, jump down and burst out as soon as you land. Try doing this with and without the ball in your hands and remember to alternate sides. Also, do bodyweight exercises.
If you're talking top end speed, work on stride and mechanics. As your explosion increases so will your speed.
