That's odd, I have a ps3 and as long as it's connected to the wirless and either my desktop or laptop is on, I can watch downloaded tv, music ect from either of them on my ps3.
i hella love my apple tv and i just got it yesturday and i fell in love with it, and the cool thing is i got 3 apple devices now,. apple tv, ipad 2 and ipod touch 4G :D
******HELP***** does this not stream backwards, so if I rent a movie on apple TV 2 and its connected to my tv, can I watch it on my computer? Ie backwards stream compatibility
Can you run two different Apple Tv on one account?? maybe one in the livingroom and one in the bed room but using the same account you have everything on?? thanks
dude i cant believe you don't have more views, you are very professional and helped me decide on my purchase, rated up and subbed hoping for more great videos
I love watching tech reviews on YouTube and stumbled across this video as I was in the market for an AppleTV and wanted to get other users' takes on it. Very well done. It's apparent you put a lot of prep work into it, unlike many of the video reviews you find here which seem more unprofessional and off the cuff.
If you have a laptop with HDMI just plug that into your tv and OMG you can see your computers display on your tv. simple as that you don't need any silly apple tv
I would think it was worth $99 to keep your fancy laptop on your lap surfing the web while listening to music or watching shows. I doubt you want to be tethered to your TV. To each their own I guess.
wow, your videos don't come often, but when they do, they're worth the wait.
by the way... the PS3 Media Server program basically does exactly what the Apple TV does. Then you can stream everything to your TV from your PS3. Granted it doesn't work as well as Apple TV, and you have to manually navigate from C:\ to wherever your media is, but it gets the job done if you already own a PS3 and don't feel like spending another $100.
@OfreakinBAMA Not in the media respect. I've tried the media server option on an Xbox 360 when a friend brought his over and it sucked. Long, long waiting times before starting media and skipping quite a lot, even when just playing music.
@OfreakinBAMA I don't, like I just said... I've used one though, and it's great. much better than the PS3's implementation. I'm just saying that if you already have a PS3, go down the (free) media server route before you decide on an Apple TV.
@OfreakinBAMA In case you didn't notice, i wasn't talking to you in my first post. You go and keep thinking that they suck, all I'm saying is that if you already have one try to use it with a media server. The end.
i have the same tv is that a sony?

hanalei412002 1 year ago
@hanalei412002
I don't see why not, there really isn't an "account".
The Apple TV just looks for your Wifi and if you want to pull content from your computer,
they can all access your iTunes.

sounds ace, does the HDMI support the sound or do i have to use the optical lead
mattsarah6 1 year ago
@mattsarah6 HDMI will handle the sound. The fibre optic is a nice to have in case your stereo doesn't except HDMI (just your TV)
ReviewGuy1000 1 year ago
@mattsarah6
Yes, you can run the audio thru the HDMI.
The optical is there if you don't have a stereo with HDMI but still want to run the audio thru it.
