  • This is about socialist internationalism and human brotherhood. <3 it.

  • @arbeitsscheuer socialist? not quite

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork

From Wikipedia (youtube won't let me post the link, for some reason):

"...a song by Liverpudlian pop band The Farm from their album Spartacus, and is said to link many of the band's favourite themes, socialism, brotherhood and football."

Incidentally, The Farm were initially called The Soul of Socialism.

  • @arbeitsscheuer doesn't prove shit, someone went to wiki and put that in their. i could go in their and put something else if i wanted. you have to have a link with an interview because most of their other stuff was nothing like that.

    case closed

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Man, I don't know why you're getting so uptight about this, but nevertheless... It's fairly well-known that The Farm were & are ardent socialists, surprised you're so vehement in your opposition to it.

From the visitliverpool website (with 'information taken from the bbc.co.uk website'): "The Farm were very politically orientated, carrying a strong socialist message and were dubbed the 'Soul of Socialism'. "

(Yet again, youtube won't let me post the link)

  • @arbeitsscheuer ahh come come now, there's no need to be disingenuous. I think the problem is that you're lacking neurons. The only person uptight is you. I googled for that article and it was non-existant. I can understand that you want them to be socialist but the fact is that in the past they were adamently against tony blair and the socialist party that ran the last election.

You shouldn't try spin what the farm stands for which is freedom and liberty.

    case closed

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork This video is nothing more than a reminder of what socialism brings to people. Death, jail, war, etc. the farm have always been against that.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork

Tont Blair and New Labour socialist? Surely you jest!!

  • stop the slaughter, let's go home

  • Wish the world would stop fighting now and become one.

  • For Christ's sake just enjoy the music.

  • this is a stupid question i know, but is that Liverpool at the beginning?

  • Saw this live last night. :D

  • My uncle wrote this song and is in the band :D

  • can the 14 people who clicked dislike please stand against that wall over there - blindfold optional !

  • April 6th 1917, America declared war on Germany

  • @HogwartsGoth Yes. I am aware of that. I am not sure what your point is. Are you suggesting that the USA made a major contribution in winning the war? It didn't. Germany was defeated by the naval blockade and by Britain and France who fought for four years, losing millions of men. To suggest britain was about to collapse in 1916 is nonsense - it had millions of men about to be conscripted, an empire, colonies, a huge navy. Where do you get this nonsense from?

  • @THthefirst

I was just pointing out your date was wrong so get off your high horse.

  • HERE HERE !

  • this is for GARY SPEED , HE WAS A TRUE BLUE , NIGHT GARY

  • best song ever to use the cannon tune and the best song ever not to get to number 1

  • great track, reminds me of the Gulf War... and , yes I know it is about World War 1.

  • Pachelbel´s Canon is a loverly tune from 350 it is great to see that it is used in Modern songs like Coolio see you when you get there

  • RIP Gareth Bangham. You total nutcase, i miss your calls.

  • Up the Everton.

  • @contaminatedfilth

Nearly killed me years ago when i learned LIVERPOOL F.C were formed from everton and ye had ANFIELD first,Ah well at least we gave it good memories and some classy football,Looking forward to meeting ye again this year in the league,Only match where points on the board go out the window

  • Saw The Farm at the Ally Pally in the summer of1990 - it was the second date with my girlfriend who became my wife and then mother to our brilliant son ;-)

  • @THthefirst... exactly! And there is a great French movie about this story - Joyeux Noël.

  • is this song popular in germany? it'd be cool if it is...

  • great song

  • Pachelbel´s Canon a beautiful tune is also used as backing on Oasis "don't look back in Anger"

  • crikey, i was 15 when this came out. just started taking e's and smoking weed! fucking amazing times 90, 91 & 92.

  • The singer looks quite old , fair play to him though.

  • goosebummbs...

    even more with the lyrics

    Remember Verdun:(

  • So, nobody noticed that it's Alphaville's Forever Young?

  • geilste Zeit meines Lebens..................

  • bicker bicker.....so many negative's ;o( It seems that some have lost the most important point of this track...."All Together Now" True, it was directed towards past historical event's , but it is also a reminder..our time is short and this world is too small "so they decided not to fight"

  • cheer you up and smile again

  • I´ve just recognized that the melody is inspired by Pachelbel´s Canon...Now I understand why is this so special and deep... :)

  • @efkagore are u sure?

  • @WETDOGBR yes, I´m sure, just listen to Pachelbel´s Canon in D major... :) the melody is as a background to the song of The Farm...

  • Beautiful song, beautifully sung.

Has anyone ever bothered asking what exactly happened during WW1? This song testifies that the soldiers never really wanted to fight each other and were being compelled to by their masters. By 1916 the UK was on her knees and almost capitulated to the German war machine. But then something quite strange happened. The US entered the war, but no-one dares ask why.

One man did, and when he found the answer, he told the world:

    /watch?v=ijEXO9QTKS4&feature=related

  • @abuhamza1970 Sorry but that's not a view supported by the facts. If no one wanted to fight, why did 2 million men from britain volunteer to fight in the first 6 months of the war then? I am afraid that jingoism and patriotism were major drivers.

As for britain being on her knees in 1916? What? She was able to launch another massive offensive in 1917 and the US joined the war in 1916 not 1917 and contributed a fraction of the men/losses on the western front in four years of war.

  • Comment removed

  • @THthefirst Men can be manipulated especially the poor uneducated who have to obey authority. Media propaganda was in its infancy at that time and was having amazing success in generating anti-German hatred. However once war started which was supposed to last only a few weeks, their appetite for war waned

In 1916 the UK was suing for peace as a result of the vast wastage of men and the stalemate in the lowlands of Europe. UK was only able to continue after several $bn's of loans from the US

  • @THthefirst Don't believe the official story as it serves as nothing but a lesson in obfuscation and deception. Ask yourself this: what was the real reason for the Allies defeat at Gallipoli? If Churchill was SUCH a great FLoA then why the amazing blunders? And if his were just mistakes in war, then why was he appointed again as FLoA before ww2. And just who was the young Turk who was claimed as a hero and credited for defeating the Allies? And what did this Turkish officer become?

  • @abuhamza1970 Sorry, I really don't uderstand your point. I never said Gallipoli was a success. I said Britain in 1916 was still a very strong power with a large army and huge navy plus empire. As for Churchill, he made a mistake - that doesn't mean he didn't also do many great things, such as his leadership in 1940.

  • cont/d

As a result of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, Zionist Banking corporations had already seized the US Treasury and was holding Woodrow Wilson to ransom. They could now execute their plan to bargain with the UK for something they had wanted for alomst 2000 yrs...Palestine, and thus was born the Balfour Declaration in secret. A clue to who was behind these machinations can be found by looking at who the declaration was addressed to.

  • @THthefirst Gallipoli was a deliberate mistake to allow Attaturk (a Freemason) to assume leadership of the republic thus destroying the last vestiges of the Ottoman Caliphate. God knows how many 000s of ANZ (not English) soldiers were deliberately sacrificed so that the elite could have their paper tiger.

When UK was suing for peace, German Jews went to the UK govt promising US intervention. US could have easily just loaned money but she sent 000s of troops. Why did she send troops?

  • @abuhamza1970 -- take your hateful self elsewhere, there's a dear. America is run by Americans. It doesn't matter what their religion or ethnicity is. Bigots and conspiracy theorists like your pet get one vote apiece, the same as everyone else.

There's been quite a bit of discussion and research about all aspects of WW1, much of it in the last 40 years, well after that obsolete racist rant you directed us to.

  • @thegrammarfairy "America run by Americans" there's a joke! Thanks for that, I needed a laugh. I guess you all get one vote, unless your name's Jeb Bush in which case you'll get all the votes of your state so that you can get your bro' into the WH. Oh and what about all those "po' black folk" that don't get the vote...COS THEY'RE BLACK!

So what you're saying is that Friedman was lying was he? A man who was present at Versailles? I guess anyone who questions the official story is a liar?

  • @abuhamza1970 -- I'm not saying Friedman was lying. He may have truly believed what he said. I'm saying he's the kind of babbling idiot I've seen a hundred times, and doesn't need to be resurrected from the 1960s to add to our current supply of idiots.

You ask about all the black people who are being denied the vote. You don't seem to have heard of anything later than the 1960s in American history. References to "po' black folk" are an outdated caricature. It's just not like that any more.

  • @thegrammarfairy Actually I was referring to the 2000 elections where Florida (run by Jeb Bush) called prematurely for brother GW. I guess I must be dreaming huh? Nevermind, here's a little reminder of my dream.

    /watch?v=chj5R0Izt9s

the first 5 mins does its a good movie

So why exactly is Friedman an idiot? Is it because he calls it as it is. A warning from history that few heed. And when people refuse to learn from earlier generations mistakes you get people like GW Bush and more wars.

  • @abuhamza1970 -- Dubya's principal mistake was to trust Cheney and Rumsfeld ever, about anything. They leaned on the CIA to twist the evidence and provide an excuse to start the war; they proposed the losing war strategy (which W chose over Colin Powell's winning strategy); and Rumsfeld allowed torture in the prisons.

I remember the 2000 elections. You'd need both hands and both feet to count the number of premature calls made that night, by any number of people.

  • @thegrammarfairy So long as there are sufficient numbers willing to fight but delegate the moral issues to their superiors, there will always be wars.

Look at Iraq, no link to 911 but was invaded and destroyed - and NOT just for Oil. There is something that links Saddam, Ghaddafi and Ahmedinejad. They all demanded/started selling oil in other than USD. Saddam was the 1st and the Saudis were going to follow. Iraqs destruction was a msg to all other Gulf states who were contemplating the same

  • @abuhamza1970 -- You said "NOT just for oil" but then said that the link between Iraq, Iran and Libya was to do with oil. Not sure what you mean.

Saddam, Ghaddafi and Ahmedinejad also were all three willing to use force against their own people. I think of Ahmedinejad as having more legitimacy as ruler than the other two.

    recommended: PBS "Frontline" episodes

"Rumsfeld's War," and other episodes to do with the whole mess.

  • @thegrammarfairy By selling oil in other than USD you quickly erode the USD as the world's reserve currency and incur the wrath of the state dept/US Treasury for imposing a surcharge on executing her military campaigns. If US has to buy Euros to buy oil, this then depletes US currency reserves thus making it more expensive to wage war around the world. Probably the single biggest cause of US hegemony since WW2 has been the availability of cheap oil. Iran has set up a new xchange just for this

  • @abuhamza1970 -- I still don't know what your point is, and I'm past caring, as long as it doesn't have anything to do with "All Together Now" by The Farm.

  • @abuhamza1970 Nobody cares, This is England ! not US ?

  • @TaNkSaLoT100 is it still england or little arabia? just asking.

  • between this and the PSB Brit Awards performance of Go West, it strikes me that Pachelbel's Canon in D has been pretty good at grand socialist statements. what a fucking song this is, anyway.

  • message to yhe world

  • great song

  • XTC, XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC

  • genius guitar lick, tried to copy it it's deceptively difficult! The chord sequence is Pachelbel's Canon, but like that comedian pointed out so many things are.

  • It makes me remember the happiest day of my life June 4, 2000, I love him and will always love him ....

  • Goosebumps just a few seconds in... Brilliant Song, Strong message. Lest we never forget...

  • for all you idiots thinking this is a call to arms, about fighting or whatever, don't you realise this about the xmas truce in 1914 when both sides stopped fighting and came together briefly?

  • @THthefirst Yeah, it is odd how everyone wants to start a battle or fight because they hear this song. It should make you want to be at peace with the people you are told to hate.

  • @THthefirst to right

  • Comment removed

  • @THthefirst .. - .. - .. - that is subjectivity though is it not? while you are correct howsoever one may interpret the song is another matter - enough of the words while wrapped around a specific wartime period of peace and common sense can serve equally as a reminder of the common sense prevailing among the cannon fodder victims or as a call to arms - especially when people are being told or directed as to how to think !

  • Reminds me of the football league:)

  • Brill song brill video !!!! Does make u feel proud to be English, cus when our backs are against the wall we come out fighting. Playing this at the start of battle !!!

    Nuff said

  • 13 dislikes???shame on you

  • The Everton version is the best <3

  • @InMoyesWeTrust08 after hearing everton's version for a lot of my childhood and then hearing this version, this version seems a little bit out of touch with the beat. for example in this version it seems like they are rushing to get some of the lines in tune with the beat, whereas with everton's version all the words fit in with the beat.

  • this song is amazing. U know this song is great when i like it and makes me feel like an England fan ,when infact i dont support England

  • @ihatewestlifesince99 it's about war, not football teams

  • 147 i'd like some of that.lol

  • They stole this title from egos who brought communities together, and twisted it into a message of war.... RIP those wonderful playful souls

  • Got to hand it to that Pachelbel fella, he could write a good hook.

  • I like this great song, the singer has charisma!

  • Music is personal ... why the hell are you even commenting or wasting your time listening to something that you don't even like! Have you nothing better to do with your time??? Go do something constructive!

  • @2310mjh Those who criticize our generation forgot who raised it.

  • @Padgilord yes,you are right-the first thing i taught my son was "sit on your arse and sign on the dole, and if thats not enough, smash in a shop window, take what you want, then blame someone else because you are bored".

  • @2310mjh I actually think it's the lack of teaching a kid anything. Did your kid actuaally take part in riots?
