  • free running is flashy while park our gets to the point

  • parkour is quick and efficient but freerunning is tricks and flips

  • As far as I know, Parkour is about pure speed and effiency, to get from point A to B as fast as possible. Basically running and jumping and climbing. Free Running is about incorporating your own style into the whole parkour theme, so it includes more varied techniques like flips and such. Am I correct?

  • @MrQueenie i thought it was the other way around

  • i say both... haha

  • You can tell who is freerunning and who is parkouring by the way they move. Freerunning utilizes flashy but superfluous movements. Parkour uses more efficient, less graceful maneuvers.

  • If you guys would like to see what the free runner in this video has been up to and accomplished since a few years ago check out his teams channel!

    Dan101FYM

  • im sorry but i though free running and parkour were the same thing could someone please explain the diffrence

  • @Sam24619015 well parkour is about efficancy but free running is abou tricks but also parkour has to be learnt in the real world with danger and thrills not a gym

  • @Sam24619015 Yeah, Parkour is more of a thought process as well. Parkour is efficiency while FreeRunning is basically showing off with flips and such that doesn't help efficiency but hinders it.

  • parkour and free running are the same ass wipe

  • neither win... in the end of the day they're both movement..

  • Yeah or just walk around the obstacles ;)

  • amazing video guys, really good work :)

  • 2:26 nice :D

  • BOTH OF U OWN ARE U GUYS PROS OR SOMETHING

  • @aP1atypus it's actually other way round but yeah they are very unique either way

  • parkour and reerunning same thing jst a diferrent type o style

  • u guys are good but some stuff is pointless

  • aww this was cool

  • To make it clear for you guys, Parkour focuses on efficiency, getting from A to B. Free running focuses on the art and style of movement. Many agree that they are the same thing but they shouldn't be considered the same. Why? because they are obviously not. Parkour is practical. Free running is artistic. That's all there is to know.

  • @YourChickMagent he did it to look cool :D

  • dont matter what is better parkour of freerunning at the end its the same freedom.

  • who is the winner?

  • free running is four inpressing a girl or having fun but parkour is free running with no flips and is much faster so it is good for playing tag or running away from someone aka cops , bullys

  • Freerunning for showing off, and parkour for getting places quickly

  • Vote Here for Freerunning

  • Vote Here for Parkour

  • parkour and free running are the same thing, but cool vid though

  • @bl54kproductions no parkour is point a to b as fast as possible, free running is point a to b as stylish as possible

  • @bl54kproductions Actually, they aren't, Parkour is a physical discipline focused primarily on efficiency and freedom of movement within one's environment, Free Running is more akin to an extreme sport, heavily incorporating tricking and gymnastics to Parkour style movements. Both have their merits, and it's a matter of personal preference, but what it really comes down to is Parkour is more practical, where Free Running is more fun.

  • @bl54kproductions no its not free running is a combination of parkour and gymnastics to move fluidly throughout an enviornment

  • it must be fun to play tag with them :\

  • the runers are good and the idea is good but they don t go the fastest way posible they run around the fastest way

  • idiot parkour IS free running

  • FUCK!!! i can never stress this enough do you know what parkour is in english? FREE RUNNING its the same practice its only difference is that free runners have made a sport out of it and hold "free running" competitions. the originial "free runners"/ TRACUERs lived it! it was a life style not a game or a sport it was there whole life! and please like if im not the only tracuer who lifestyle REVOLVES AROUND PARKOUR

  • @obito4th wait other way around sorry.. Parkour is to get from point a to point b as fast as possible and free running is showing off sticks and stuff..

  • parkour is getting from point a to point b the most efficient and quickest way freerunning is more flare and style than efficiency. nice moves by the way working on my kong at the moment

  • @obito4th parkour is more flips and stunts and free running is kinda what they are doing less flips and stuff

  • Both amazing. What's the difference between parkour n free running. Are they the same and free running involves more flips n stuff plz correct me if I'm wrong. N where can u go to learn this in Sanree running is going where you want not letting any opsticle get in the way parkour is building jumping and long distance

Antonio or any where in the UEpic Game Of Tag.S.Much respect guys...keep it up...!ts just like free climbing or whatever u payfor your mistakes woth that to, like yo

  • free running is going where you want not letting any opsticle get in the way parkour is building jumping and long distances

  • Both amazing. What's the difference between parkour n free running. Are they the same and free running involves more flips n stuff plz correct me if I'm wrong. N where can u go to learn this in San Antonio or any where in the U.S.

  • Much respect guys...keep it up...!

  • Epic Game Of Tag

  • @ray4omarm its just like free climbing or whatever u payfor your mistakes woth that to, like you have rock.climbing where you use all the gear thw free climbing you dont i think its something like that

  • i see the difference in parkour and free running everyday, parkour is about using as less energy as you can, while free running expands much more energy to get to the same goal, yes they are similar in many ways but they are all so different in ways (:

  • man..everytime i do freerun its the most funnest time in my life and you guys are making me go out and practice it even more :) cool video guys respect -XxDKmanxX

  • parkour owns freerunning

  • parkour is freerun :) just freerun is more freestyle trust me i train this almost 5 years ;) @stickmankitty

  • @stickmankitty i dont think one is better than the other they both require quite a bit of skill. personally i like free running better because it includes flips and a bit more style but parkour is cool because of the precision jumps and the konging. so i think they both are pretty equal.

  • @stickmankitty your fucking stupid. PARKOUR is about moving from point A to point B as FAST as possible.

FREE RUNNING is about moving from point A to point B as STYLISH as possible.

IS IT REALLY THAT FUCKING HARD TO LEARN PEOPLE?!?!

  • @stickmankitty there both the same thing

  • @stickmankitty dont they know free runing is parkour just in a fluid movement to keep it going lol, dumb fucks

  • loved the end - that looks like a blast

  • who was actually chasing who bit confused :D

  • this inspired me into freerunning again

  • That music was from fl studios wasn't it

  • You both are amazing at what you do, well done :) Personally I prefer the efficiency of parkour, I find it looks so much smoother.

  • so parkour is getting to a place as fast as possable but freerunning is making it look cool

  • parkour and free running are the same thing both do the same thing so yeah

  • actually freerunning is just free running and parkour is getting into a place in the shortest time

  • why is the vid called 'parour vs free runnung' theyre both the exact same thing

  • @EPIKVip3Zz Parkour is just getting from A to B as efficiantly as possible, Freerunning is flips and shit. slightly different but in the video looks like both of them are doing flips.

  • Parkour = Getting from point "A" to point "B" in the fastest way possible, Free-Running = Incorporating "tricks" such as flips, twists, or spins unto Parkour which means free running is tricking and Parkour is running. If it's not clear enough do some research and for the record Parkour came first and it's so much better than "free-running".

  • @1xfafnirx1 really? i thought it was the other way around XD

  • do you think they are running home to there girlfriends ? ahahahhah don't think so!

  • why the fuck is it called free running if u pay for ur mistakes ?!

  • I couldn't tell the difference between freerunning and parkour. How old are those kids? That's awesome

  • freerunning is much better! xD nice video guys! :D

  • PARKOUR FTW!!!:D

  • so fucking overpro

  • SICK 1:25

  • damn im tired and out of breath jus by watching yall run, beats me lol!!!!

  • tag!

  • @36drifterboy then how come til this year, parkour meant free flow of the body

  • if you think they are the same, please take a look at this video. it's not mine but it will explain the difference clearly:

Parkour Blog - RKTR - Parkour and Freerunning - The Differences ('To the point' version) martinsmith01

this should explain it and they are team RAKOTARU. they know what they aree saying and are really good traceurs

  • what's the music called

  • is this Stratford New Zealand???

  • yo no voto x ninguno... "LOS DOS SON GENIALES"

  • No it isnt

  • I've been doing parkour for about a year and I stuff up half those moves also parkour is the basic essentials of free running

  • I respect the discipline and focus of Parkour, but really love the creativity of Freerunning. Either one FTW

  • nice vid, guys! looks like you guys got some nice stuff to run on. Loved the wall run between the stone posts at 2:27!

  • Wow

  • pARLOUR IS NOT FREERUNNING

  • parkour and free running are the same thing. parkour is parkour getting from poin1 to point b on feet no vehicles in the fastest way possible. free running is an advanced style of parkour where as the advanced part comes in as adding flips n bigger tricks to make it look more flashy and somewhat harder. thats the only difference. overall parkour is free running.

  • @RVProductionz actually the correct context is freerunning is parkour, as free running was derived from parkour.

Plus freerunning uses moves that don't really help getting anywhere. Eg: palm flips.

  • @RVProductionz freerunning is from parkour. parkour is about getting from A to B the most efficiently while freerunning is more tricks and less usefull so they are not the same. i have posted many comments over the last year explaining but its okay since now you know the difference

  • @36drifterboy

No, Parkour is from free running.

Most athletes have always ran free. Its natural to do all that stuff when your body allows it. I have been doing it since I could run and only recently learned that people who do it called it free running. Jackie chan could also be considered a free runner.

Parkour is giving rules to something that most of us do naturally and freely aka free running.

  • @TheAncientX um, no dude sorry but free running is about aesthetics and competition while parkour was about efficiency. they both started around the same time

  • @36drifterboy

No they didnt. Free running has been done for a long time.

Running from here to there and flipping and doing tricks with environments. That is old and is NOT new.

This same stuff has even been said to go on in China. Its natural for humans and is NOT new. Maybe new to you. But you are just a kid anyway.

  • @TheAncientX okay maybe i am a kid cause i'm only 16 but parkour has been around just as long in africa used by tribes chasing food and constantly adapting to their enviroment moving fluidly.

  • @36drifterboy

Thats actually a nice reply there. They were trying to get to the food as fast as possible and would go over obstacles to to catch it.

Perhaps they have been around the same time. Only difference is it wasnt called parkour. Very nice kid.

  • @TheAncientX thanks and yeah it never really had a name to it someone just decided to give it a name

  • I'm pretty sure that the video here is showing that there is no difference between parkour and freerunning. The competitors end up in the same place at the same time, andthen they shake hands, so parkour and freerunning are generally the same thing.

  • parkour is free running

  • @Nochet noo, free running is parkour

  • @Haji5476 same thing, you've basicly switched my words around, like 3 + 4 = 7 : 4 + 3 = 7

  • @Nochet oh yeah two camels in a tiny car, i automatically win this conversation

  • @Haji5476 no, they are different. free running is about using tricks to look cool while parkour is getting from point A to point B the fastest

  • @36drifterboy sure whatever

  • how is this parkour vs free running they are both freerunning

  • If we had to say: wich is "easier": Parkour or Free running

And what is diference between Parkour and Free running?

  • @PrinceOfFayth Parkour is for moving around efficiently. Freerunning is mostly for show, like, doing tricks.

  • @ 2:11 DERP FACE! XD

  • 1:10 Ninja skill!

  • Free-running is more usefull. Why? Since it's

    A. Easier

    B. Much more useful in terms of running away from someone.

    C. Just plain awesome.

  • @hemir9 Why is it more useful when running away from someone?? I thought parkour was better for that

  • @Pontusblack Parkour if you noticed in the video. Is more of stylin' and showin' of.(Kind of) Whilst Free-running is proven to be useful since even Ezio and Altaïr do it.(AC joke)

  • @hemir9 actually it's the opposite way around, parkour is to get from point A to point B the most efficient way, while freerunning is a more expressive variant that includes flips etc.

  • @hemir9 other way around dude..

  • @Pontusblack becouse you can get up an high building and use it to get away if done corectly, find an balance and u can not get cought, (exept when 100 ppl are chasing ya) XD

  • @ ninja agreed

  • 0:53-1:00 Totally unnecessary.

  • @ EOMPK yes there is parkour is kinda showy stuff, and freerunning is to get from one place to the other

  • @zacht444 you have i mixed up Parkour is for efficency while Freerunning is for looks

  • @XxClearPointxX correctimundo my friend so r you a traceur or a freerunner??

  • @iceemberpro Traceur

  • @XxClearPointxX cool me too!

  • @zacht444 actually its the other way around. parkour is about efficiency and freerunning is about show

  • @36drifterboy presisly

  • you video is good but there is absolutly no difference diference between parkour and free running just to let you know....

  • @EOMPK There is...

    You just lost the game.

  • @gabrielokafor Theres not a difference. Everybody thinks there is. Free Running is a way to express yourself through movement. And when you do parkour, you express yourself through movement. Therefore, there is no difference.

  • @EOMPK actually your right and your wrong there isn't a difference execpt for the thoughts behind them Parkour is getting from point A to point B and back as fast as possible and Freerunning is all about Creativity

  • @Swissjar549 actually le arte du deplacemont'e is getting from point A to B and it helped make parcours which is obstacle courses that wear created to teach firefighters to overcome obstacle parkour and freerunning just got mixed into the whole thing when people who dont know anything about it wrote stuff on it like on wikipedia... ill tell you how parkour really got started and freerunning when i reply to your next comment..have a nice day:)

  • @elintinmagik Thank you for telling me something actually useful today and not swearing me out everytime I say something on youtube there is some jerk swearing me out it gets old fast

  • Comment removed

  • @Swissjar549 as promised ill tell you how pk/fr got started david belle and sebastien foucan had a group of friends and they lived a boring town calles lisse, france they where only 9 or ten and they decided to jump this small little gap between these benches and every day they would jump sometimes even further and then they did bigger jumps learning how to move their bodies.that is how it was given a name sebastien said every one does it they just dont hold onto it..wanna watch jump london?

  • @elintinmagik yep you got that exactly right and I've seen it already

  • @Swissjar549 k good to know some people actually know their stuff

  • @EOMPK yes there is.

  • no afence but can the guy in all black do anything cause all the stuff he did i can do the guy in the blue did a palm spring a roundoff backflip a palm flip and a normal backflip

  • parkour is soo much cooler....

  • its like the ultimate game of tag

  • 2:02 I'm not sure whether that's supposed to be planned but Parkour is art.

  • Freerunning Ftw!

  • i hope this vid explains to people that freerunning is DIFFERENT to parkour

  • i will admit that you both have skill but i have a few criticisms.

    1) who ever the free runner is, YOU DONT HAVE TO ROLL AFTER EVERY MOVE!

    2) the traceur needs to stop stutering be for he jumps

    3) roll over you're shoulder not you're head

  • @localcab agreed but im sure the freerunner is just doing it for looks

  • wish i could do that.... l0l

  • I like parkour because of how it flows. freerunning is cool to but i get tired of all the flips

  • loved the walrun at 2:27

  • @MHSiddall was more of a tic-tac

  • @iceemberpro lol its both

  • Ending was pretty cool

  • This was ridicolous in my opinion..

  • ...david belle's father invented PARKOUR in military and later on his son david belle adapted it to the city. it's about speed and being able to go from A to B

FreeRunning is the acrobatic version of it, not about going fast or anything...

    examples:

trials bike and normal going on bike

    car racings- rallies

    gymnastics-acrobatic gymnastics... got it now?

  • effeciency

  • stratford is in ontario right?? lol

  • @AmateurApprentice Exactly. Parkour is to get from point A to point B as efficiently as possible. With free running, there is no point B. It's expressing freedom and independence. So naturally, a more focused traceur would win the race

  • Parkour is about getting from point A to point B as quickly a possible free running is just pulling off tricks

  • @AmateurApprentice I think you got it kind of wrong parkour is for tricks and free running is for speed and efficiency

  • @TacoTown254 nah i think ur wrong dude...sorry

  • @TacoTown254 amateur is right parkour is to get to point a to B, so is freerunning, but freerunning is mainly for style while maintaining a solid pace. ^.^

  • Better is Parkour!

  • Free runing is runing with pourpouse parkur is just pulling of tricks

  • @pandorasend1337 Other way around man. Parkour is point to point B with efficiency. Free running is point A to point B in the most aesthetically pleasing way.

  • So sometimes the guy in shorts is the traceur, and sometimes he's the freerunner, and vice versa? And who is chasing who? Cool video though.

  • This is just running. FAIL.

  • So they just randomly switch who they're chasing??

  • this looks like somthin from a movie

  • NICE :D

  • Now, who is chasing who?

  • great vid guys - keep training :)

  • @AmateurApprentice lol other way around
